Wot....... no cards!!!

Hello my blogging buddies.
Well, thank you for the comments on my tutorial over at Digital Delights this week.   It would be nice if you could spread the word amongst the people you follow - you never know, people may actually pick up something they weren't quite sure of before!!!  Still time to enter my giveaway - my tutorial trio of card, gift box and gift tag (with the added mystery gift in the gift box)!

So onto my post for today.  Over at Pollycraft they wanted something other than a card.  Now this is not something I would ordinarily do but since I have been doing these tutorials I have found I actually enjoy doing things other than card making.  So I decided to make a gift box!
Again I used my Topscore Multiboard from Crafter's Companion - such a useful bit of kit this!  I made a box from silver holographic card and then decorated it.

Sorry about the reflection on the photo's - bit difficult with holographic card!  Anyway, I used a piece of ribbon from Crafty Ribbons to go across the bottom right hand corner of the box which I adhered with my extra strong glue stick.

I then stuck three glittery snowflakes in the bottom left and top right hand corners of the box with clear silicone glue.  I used two pieces of wired bling from a Crafty Bitz snowflake pack which I also adhered with clear silicone and I have used Cherry Kisses Snowball from Pollycraft which I have coloured with watercolour pencils (No water), blending pencils and metallic pencils.  I have used stickles Crystal glue for the fur bits of her jacket and trousers and also around the snowballs.  I also used some distressing ink with a water brush around the outside of the image (a tip I picked up at Pink Gem - thanks Janet!).  Then using a piece of ribbon to match the piece across the corner I made a rosette by stitching along the bottom of the ribbon and pulling it tight so that it ruffled up and then stitched it into place.  I also added two contrasting pieces of ribbon as hanging ribbons from underneath the rosette.

So other than the challenge at Pollycraft which was "No Cards Allowed" I will also enter this for the following challenges:
Cupcake Craft Challenge -  Snow Much Fun
Digital Tuesday - Holiday wishes (you give presents at Christmas and that's a holiday)
Papertake weekly - Use a digi image and and some sparkle/bling.
Charisma Cardz Challenge - Merry and bright
