Something Old, Something New

Hi folks,
Oh my, I can't actually believe Christmas is only two weeks away!! Eeeeeeekkkk.
Are you all ready? Presents bought and wrapped?
Dinner all planned?
No - me neither. Hey ho!!
So what better way to chill and forget the Christmas stress than with the last challenge for this year from Creatlicious.
This month our theme is:
SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW!
Our fabulous sponsors are:
and

So for this challenge I used a NEW image from Sparkle & Sprinkle called:
Brighten the Holidays - Digital Stamp Set 663
As you can see, it comes with that two part sentiment too.
So here is my card:
I do love this fun image - reminds me of hubby when we reach our lights out of the loft! Lol
A close up of the image which is coloured with my Spectrum Noir pencils.

And a close up of the two part sentiment.
I actually added glitter to their mitten cuffs but I don't really think it shows up does it?
Never mind, it is there, honest it is! lol
So, I know you are all busy but I really hope you can find five minutes to enter the last challenge of 2016.
There are some changes coming next year so please remember to stop by and see what they are.
Have a lovely Christmas, and a Happy Health New Year.

A Christmas Story.

Hi all,
Just popping in to show you my entry into the Clarity Stamp Challenge.
The challenge this month is:
Now, when I saw it I thought, pffft, another challenge I shan't be entering.
I don't know about you but sometimes I struggle to get the initial idea and then when I do it doesn't always work out exactly as I had seen it in my mind's eye!
Such was the case with this challenge.
I racked my brains to come up with something fitting.
No luck! So I decided to give my craft room a bit of a tidy.
During the chaos I came across a pack of 4 mini canvases I had bought ages ago.
Then it hit me!! Light bulb moment!!
So off I went to look through my Clarity stamps (and there are a few to go through I can tell you!) and found what I was looking for.
Some time ago Barbara produced a set of stamps depicting the poem,
TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS.
Perfect!
So, here is what I made with them.
I think you will agree that this is a Christmas Story alright!
I stamped them all in Black Archival ink and then coloured them in with my Distress Ink Pens.
Added a bit of glitter here and there.
A fancy sparkly ribbon and
Bob's your Uncle!
I have used Blue's on these as I am giving them to my daughter to hang in her house for my two gorgeous, adorable grandsons, Carter and Leighton.
I hope she likes it!
I shall also enter this into the following challenges:

and the Gold cards are made using:
Golden Christmas Trees Toppers and Sparkling Christmas Trees backing card.
And the close up:

Soon be Christmas!!

Hello my friends.
Well here we are in November - can you believe it?
Before you know it Christmas will be here.
Now talking of Christmas, I have a Christmas card to show you.
This is for our new challenge over at Creatalicious Challenges.
For this challenge we are sponsored by:
Lacey from www.stampandcreate.com is offering this fabulous gift cert. for the winner.

&
Store  -  Blog

So for my card I have used:
Snow Bunny Ethereal Enchantress from Lacy Sunshine
And here she is:
I loved this image as soon as I saw it.
She is coloured with my Polychromo pencils and I have used distress ink to add in a few little hillocks for her to sit on.
I decided to stick with all blues for Christmas and that included her hair! hehe
I have added some glitter to the icicles but I'm not sure you can actually see it in the pics.  It is there though, honest!
I decided the bottom two pieces to the side of the image looked a bit bare. So I found out some cute little white flowers and leaves and added those to one side.
And then used one of my Clarity Word Chain stamps to add the word Peace to the other side.
I am quite pleased with how this one turned out and I hope you like her too.
Challenges:

I do hope you get chance to hop over to Creatalicious this month and join in, I would love to see your wonderful creations.
Thanks for stopping by.

Hot inside and cold outside!

Hello my lovelies.
Well, here we are in November - crikey 8 more weeks and the Big Man will have been and gone!
Don't know where this year has gone to - really I don't.
So, time once again for a new challenge at Through the Purple Haze.
This time our fabulous sponsor is:
KennyK shop badge
For this challenge I have used Blair Blaze
preview
So the theme is hot inside and cold outside right?
So I couldn't resist colouring her like flames:
I have used my Polychromo pencils for this image - I love how the waxy pencils blend together so beautifully.
The background is made using a Clarity 9 x 11 stencil called Treescape Stencil
Originally I was going to make a card, but after printing and colouring the image I decided she was too big for a card so decided to go a bit mixed media and do a canvas.
I placed a moon stencil behind the trees but I think I was a bit heavy handed with the stencil brush because you can hardly see it.
I spritzed the ink with water to make it look like snow and added stickles glue along the grass lines.
I added the little owl in the top corner (a) to make it a bit more interesting and (b) because I think he is cute! Lol
So there you have it - my mixed media hot inside cold outside canvas.

Hope you can find time to pop in and join in with the challenge - I know it is getting busier around about now but it would be lovely if you could.

Using a stencil or two!

Hi all,
Just popping in to show you a card I have made for the Clarity Stamp Challenge which this month has been all about Stencils.
I have had these stencils for a while now and have just never seemed to have the time to use them properly, so I made myself make time - well nobody else is gonna make it for me are they now?
So, here is my entry for this month's Clarity Stamp Challenge:
I have used the Woodland Stencil as my main centrepiece and using the expensive torn paper I shaded some hills with Weathered Sky. (Mind you I think I have the lighter ones at the back when they should be at the front!!) Lol.
Then I used the small end of the row of spruce trees and added some into the background.
I used a moon stencil and brushed through some faded jeans, then removed the moon stencil and brushed over it again so it wasn't too bright.
Then I took off the stencil and added three deer at the bottom and "grounded" them with a little weathered sky. I also extended the hills out into the surrounding area of the card.
I added "Peace" from Wordchain 13 and double stamped the word to give a bit of shadow (which you can just see) and then I noticed I had overbrushed the stencil edge on the right hand side so I added a little spruce tree there to cover it up. hehehehehe.

Lastly I added two snowflakes at the top of the card using the Peace/Noel A5 stencil and a simple bow to the left hand side.
So there we have it - not perfect but I like it.
Thanks for stopping by.

A new challenge - well for me!!

Hi lovelies,
Wow I can't believe it is 1st October since I last posted on here, where on earth does the time go to I wonder?
Well, I just popped in to tell you all my little bit of news.
I entered the DT call at Creatalicious Challenges and I am pleased to say they offered me a place.
If you don't know Creatalicious Challenges - why not pop over and follow their blog.
There are monthly challenges with some fabulous prizes.
Creatalicious is a truly international Design Team with members from all over the world.
Please stop by and say hi to the other two new DT members whilst you're there.
I don't think you can ever follow enough challenge blogs do you?
So their current challenge which doesn't end until 14th November (still time to join in then!!) is:
GUYS/MALE THEMED CARDS
So I thought I would join in with a little bit of inspiration for you and here they are:
First card is made using Dr Digi's Captain Thunderpants
Coloured with Spectrum Noir pencils, I simply added a computer generated sentiment and a piece of black bobbly thread.
Challenges for Captain Thunderpants:
The second one is made with Wizz-Doodles
Again coloured with Spectrum Noir pencils.
The background is done with distress ink spray stains and the backing paper which started out as cream is also sprayed with the stains.
For the little clouds around his hands I just painted out the stain with a paintbrush and water.
The little "Wish" word is from That Craft Place (Facebook shop), painted with black acrylic and sprayed with irredescent spray and sparkle.
I shall enter Wizz-Doodles in to the following challenges:

So, hope to see you back here next month for the next Creatalicious Challenge.

Magically Halloween

Hi all,
Time once again for a new challenge over at TTPH.
This time the challenge is:
MAGICAL/HALLOWEEN
Our sponsor for this challenge is the fabulous:
THE EAST WIND
For my card this time I have used the gorgeous
Digital stamp- Lucy Loo 'Hocus Pocus' - 300dpi Jpeg file - MAC0095
And here is what I did with her.
I printed the image out twice so that I could mask it and spray the background using my Colour Chemistry sprays. I used Totally Turquoise, French Lavender and Citrus Yellow.  I really love how it turned out too.
The image is coloured using Promarkers - just for a change and my Spectrum Noir Pencils.
The background paper is from Summer Driggs Bootiful Night and was a cream background to start with.  I used the same sprays to add some shading to it.
I used a piece of thread - not sure what you would call it to add the bow down the side.

I love those little scary faces don't you??
I added a bit of a green tinge to her skin but I'm not sure you can really see it??

The sentiment was computer generated.

And the glittery spider was in my stash, if all spiders were glittery they wouldn't be half as scary now would they?? Lol
So there you go folks, my Halloween card Lucy Loo Hocus Pocus.
I do hope you can join in our challenge this time, and I look forward to seeing your fabulous entries.
