Colour create, Creative Card Crew and Cupcake Challenges

Hello again,
My third card for today fulfils three challenges.
Firstly I followed the sketch over at Cupcake Craft Challenge and is shown below:

I have twisted it around so that it would fit the image I had chosen which was a Softpencil design called "Snowy Day", and here is the card that I made.

I have coloured in the image using watercolour pencils, my Artkure water brush and Sakura Gelly Glaze pens.  The snow on the roof I have left blank but just highlighted where the snow would lay with blue glitter. I have used the same blue glitter on the larger snowflakes in the background and stickles glitter glue in Crystal for the smaller ones.  The image is layered on several pieces of white textured card and I have used a white ribbon across the middle.  The three snowflakes were from my stash and are from Jolees Boutique.

So, apart from the challenge at Cupcake Craft Challenge this card will also fit into the challenge over at Colour Create which is to use White only (other than the image) and also Creative Card Crew who wanted to see snowflakes.  Please as always your comments are valued and appreciated.

A green wedding!

My second card for today is a Wedding Card that a friend asked me to make.  By chance it also fits in with two challenges.
Firstly here is the card:

and a close up of the hearts:

Those of you who visit regularly will remember I made 100 invitations for an evening wedding reception a while ago ....... this card is for the lady that is getting married so I tried to tie it in with the invitations by using the entwined hearts.
So the challenges this will go into are:
Allsorts Challenge    -      Weddings
ABC Challenge       -      G is for Green

Sharing my mug!

Well obviously I don't mean my mug as in my face!! Honestly that would just scare everyone away.  No this is for a challenge over at Inktegrity - which I hope I am in time for because it ends today.  The mug shape was a freebie and you had to use the image to make your creation.  So this is what I did with it..........

So first off I used a sentiment from Clarity Stamp which I inked up in Burgundy and stamped in the middle of the mug.  Then I masked off the centre and the "inside" of the mug and using a set of "Rubber Stamp Tapestry" stamps I stamped all around the outside using different colours - sort of a bone china mug look!!  Then I chalked the background and inside of the mug with lilac chalk and sprayed over that with a quick layer of hairspray to seal the chalk.  I will also enter this into the challenge at Corrosive Challenge Blog where they want a card of a different shape.  So there you have it!  Do hop on over to Inktegrity on Sunday when their new releases come out.

Friday 30 October 2009

Woohoo - It's Friday!!!!

Happy Friday everyone.
You know what it means when Friday comes around don't you.....?  Yes, that's right........... it's Freebie Friday time at Digital Delights.
This week Wendy has given us something completely different - not halloween and not Christmas - this week she has given us Laptop Ridley!  And..... here's what I have done with him!

First I did the inside of the card..... more of that in a minute.  I didn't follow a sketch or enter this for any challenges....... except maybe the Alphabet Challenge which was B for Blue but alas by the time this post goes out that challenge will be closed!  I used a Laura Ashley backing paper and a piece of black corrugated card from my stash.  I printed off the image and then coloured it in with watercolour pencils, my waterbrush and my metallic pencils.  I printed off the "Please....." on the computer and stuck that to a piece of shimmering blue paper (doesn't show up on the piccy tho!!)  The screen part of the laptop isn't stuck down but I have used sticky pads to stick the keyboard to the backing paper so the screen part moves about (like a real laptop!!)  I had already printed off the sentiment and after attaching it to some holographic card I stuck it to the inside of the card like so.....

.......to make it a pop out card!  Now I wonder where I learnt that from???????  This time however I used a 2cm wide piece of card and made it into a square and using double sided tape stuck it to the inside of the card - this way you don't make a hole in the folded edge of your card!!

Then I tied two pieces of ribbon around the card and tied it into a bow to finish it off!
So hop on over to Digital Delights and grab your Laptop Ridley Freebie Friday - enjoy!!

Stamptacular Bonus Card

Hello everyone,
This is just a quick post to show you a little card I made as part of the Stamptacular Sunday October Fun Day Blog Hop.  It had to be a card for Get Well or Thinking of You and I chose the latter.

The layout is based on the sketch from A Spoonful of Sugar and is shown below:

The backing papers are from a 6 x 6 pack of Laura Ashley Velvet Flock Effects papers called Love Songs. The image is probably one of my most favourite images from Elisabeth at Soft Pencil and the sentiment is a Clarity Stamp.
Comments as always are greatly appreciated my blogging buddies.

Sassy Designs by Susie - DT Call!!

What a great week I have had.  A couple of fab candy wins and also a couple of challenge wins.  I never thought I was a lucky person until I started blogging and now that all seems to have changed.
So, with that in mind I thought I would have a bash at submitting a card for Susie's DT call over at Sassy Designs by Susie.  She is looking for just one DT member to join her wonderful team.  Click on the link and hop on over to Susie's for more details.
I based the card on the sketch at Sketch and Stash this week and rotated it - here it is below:

So....... without further ado this is the card I will be submitting, and.....guess what.........IT'S PINK!!!!

The card at the very back is a purplish mirri card, but I'm not sure this photo does it justice.  The two pink backing papers I have used are from the Crafter's Companion Vintage Christmas double CD.  I used a stunning Mo Manning image which I recently purchased from Mo's Digital Pencil which I have coloured in using watercolour pencils, a waterbrush and Sakura Gelly Glaze pens.

The wings have been covered in pink glitter from my art glitter set "Butterfly" and the three snowflakes are from my stash and recycled from old Christmas Crackers!  The white ribbon down the middle is from my stash and I think this was also recycled from a gift box.  The Merry Christmas sentiment is also from my stash of bits and bobs.
The other challenges I will submit this card for are:
LaLa Land   -  Sparkle
Digital Tuesday - Things with Wings
One Stop Craft - Celebration (well Christmas is a celebration!)
Sketch and Stash - Sketch for challenge 21
So fingers crossed for the DT and all the other challenges too!
Please let me know what you think - it makes all the difference.

Freebie Friday time at Digital Delights

Yes it's Freebie Friday time over at Digital Delights again.  This week Wendy has given you the first of her Christmas images which I have used here on the Mojo Monday sketch challenge. I will also be entering this into the Alphabet Challenge where B is for Blue - I think this is pretty blue don't you??

Now this freebie comes in two parts, the image and the sentiment.  I know you can't see his boots very well but I have coloured them blue to match in with the rest of the card.
So if you fancy Mr Moose for yourself hop on over to Digital Delights and pick up your free image and sentiment.

But wait..................... there's more.......................  Digital Delights would also like to announce their new releases scheduled for October 28th.  So put a note in your diary to look out for the New Releases at Digital Delights - you won't be disappointed!!

Halloween sixteen!

Hello everyone
I hope you have had a pleasant Monday.  I have had a brill Monday because I had the day off work!! YIPPEEEEEEE!
So, what could I do with myself all day I hear you ask???  Well naturally I had to fit in some craft now didn't I.  This is a Halloween card I made using Devil Rider Billy from Wendy over at Digital Delights.  Billy was a Freebie Friday image a couple of weeks ago but don't worry if you missed him you can still buy him over at Wendy's store - just click on the link at the top of the page.

The card is based on the sketch over at the Pink Elephant and is shown below:

Billy is coloured using a variety of mediums including; watercolour pencils, metallic pencils and sparkling gel pens.  I also went all over the image using a dark purple chalk so that the white card didn't stand out like a sore thumb.

The bat image and the sentiment are from the Occasions Double CD from Crafter's Companion as is the purple lantern backing paper.  The black ribbon down the middle of the lantern paper is from my stash and bought from Crafty Ribbons.  The buttons are from my stash (I decided to tie some fibre through them to give them a bit of interest - I won these in some candy from Helen at Ellephantastic) and the scallops that they sit on are from my stash.  The lantern paper sits on some purple mirri card and Billy is mounted on to some purple glitter card - again both from my stash.
So along with the challenge at the Pink Elephant these are the other challenges I am entering this card into:
Lots to do - Make a card
Crafty Cardmakers - Autumn (well Halloween is in the Autumn!)
C.R.A.F.T. Challenge - Recipe - 1 ribbon, 2 buttons and 3 papers
Pile it On - Ready for Halloween
ABC - F is for flying (tentative I know but there is a bat on the card!)
Creative Card Crew - Use scallops
Digital Tuesday - Boo! Halloween
Papertake Weekly - The Dark Side - Halloween
One Stop Craft - Halloween
Cute Card Thursday - Spook Fest
StampARTic - Boo!
The Corrosive Challenge - Spooky Times
Creative Friday - Halloween
and last but not least....
Cupcake Challenge - Things that go bump in the night.
Phew!  I make that 16 challenges in all!  Hope you like the card guys - please feel free to leave me any comments - they really do make a difference!

Quick and cute, just a card with scrap DP

Hopping through blogging land I found three challenges that would fit the card I had in mind.  Firstly here is the card I made:

The copper coloured card is from my stock of ready made card blanks - I think this one was a freebie with a magazine some time ago because I only have four left.  The image is soooo cute and is one of Elisabeth's over at Softpencil.  The black corrugated card is a bit of scrap card from my bits draw as is the flowery scalloped piece of paper down the side.

It is actually the "waste" piece you are left with once you have used a border punch.

The flowers are all homemade by me using my two recently purchased punches from Hobbycraft which I finished off with gems from my stash and I adhered them to the card using silicone to give them a bit of height.
So the challenges I am entering this card for are:
Creatalicious challenges - Use scrap DP, new cardstock and handmade flowers by you.
My Time To Craft Challenge - Quick and cute (probably the quickest card I have ever made and cute too!)
Lots to Do - Simply make a card (this one is to go with a gift I am posting tomorrow)
The My Time to Craft Team are also looking for new DT members so I shall be putting in for that too!
Off to watch the Grand Prix now.

A GD card for Funky Fairy!

This card is one I decided to have a go at for the Funky Fairy Challenge.  This week their challenge is to use "no images".  I thought this would be easy - Oh how wrong can you be!  I started out thinking Christmas Card, then it went to Baby Boy and finally I ended up with this for a Baby Girl.

Part of the challenge is that you must use a Funky Fairy element somewhere on the card.  My FF elements are all taken from the free downloads on the Funky Fairy Inspiration blog
1.  The backing paper which is from the Swirls download.
2.  The backing for the sentiment is from the Doodlementals download

3.  The banners are both from the Baby Girl download.
The two little hearts at each corner came from a pack of die cut baby shapes which I had in my stash, the skeleton leaves (which are pink by the way) were also from my stash and the pink flowers were a recent buy from Hobbycraft

I am also going to enter this for their GDT call which ends on Monday and is for 2 challenges.

Friday Freebie time at DD!

I know it's Saturday but my philosophy is better late than never!!  I just couldn't get to the computer yesterday and then when I did I managed to get two posts done and then it crashed! Hopefully all sorted now so without further ado, for those of you who don't already know!!!
It's Friday Freebie time over at Digital Delights.  The multi-talented Wendy is giving you her last Halloween Image for this year and his name is Ghost Billy and his Bat Balloons!!  Cute or what!

So hop on over to Digital Delights and click on the Freebie Friday tab on the black bar at the top of the page.  Don't worry if you miss him here, you will still be able to purchase him from Wendy's shop along with many many more fantastic images.

A round dozen!!!

Hello my blogging buddies
I hope this Sunday finds you all well and fighting fit.
I have been working on a couple of things today - one I can't tell you about until tomorrow! :) I am sooooo excited!!
And the other one is the card below:

For this card I used a Pollycraft image called Cherry Kisses Kitty.
I stamped and heat embossed a butterfly using a Clarity Stamp and once embossed with clear embossing powder I used Pee Wee glitters, coincidentally called "Butterfly" which I bought from Create and Craft ages ago and have ashamedly neglected them, and then added the butterfly using Silicone to raise it off the paper a little.

The image was printed three times and I have decoupaged both Cherry Kisses and her Kitty.  I have used small pieces of wire for Kitty's whiskers again for a 3 dimensional effect.

I have cut a pink tag from a book of Hot Off The Press papers called Garnet and used an odd piece of burgundy ribbon from my stash.  The cream/burgundy and green/burgundy papers are both from a 6 x 6 pack of Laura Ashley flock effect papers (a recent purchase from Hobbycraft) and the small flowers at the bottom are punched using two flower punches (again purchases from Hobbycraft).  I used a border punch around the edge of the image and a burgundy fibre (a candy win from Ellephantastic - thanks again Helen).

The spotty paper is from my craft stash and the little hearts were punched from Burgundy card.
Now I decided to follow the sketch and Sketch Saturday who also wanted you to include Pets that's why I chose the Kitty image.  Here is their sketch:

The other challenges I am entering this for are as follows - take a deep breath everyone:
ABC - E is for embossing
Simon Says - Card for Paige/Girly card
Artful Inkables- Something that sparkles
Charisma Cardz - Decoupage
Crafty Cardmakers - 3d Elements
Crafty Catz - butterflies
Creative Card Crew - All that sparkles
Digital Tuesday - Include a heart somewhere on your card
Pile it On - 3 Dimensional
Pink Elephant - Dots/Punch/Tag
Bizzy Becs Creatalicious Challenges - Colour Combo - Pink Burgundy and Green
Well folks I think that makes 12!   I am now going to sit down with a very large glass of wine!
Hope you like my efforts folks!
