Challenge #55 - Use the Challenge Blog colours

Bonjour mes amies!
LOL - just thought I'd go a bit French on this post as it is time for the next Challenge at Ooh La La Creations.  This time the challenge is to use the Challenge Blog colours - apart from that the world is your Oyster as they say.  You can create anything you like so long as you use the Challenge Blog colours as your main focus of your creation.
So, without further ado here is the card I made for this challenge:
This image is taken from the latest CD release at Ooh La La called Watercolour Memories and is from the folder Country Church 2.  I loved the image as soon as I saw it and when I realised the colours matched the challenge for this fortnight my decision was made.
I printed off the pyramage images and one of the backing papers.  I used two pieces of backing paper which I matted onto Lemon card and then matted the image onto the same lemon card.  I added a lilac ribbon to the long piece of DP together with a bow and a piece of ribbon to the smaller piece of DP to match.  I finished off the card with four small self adhesive flowers and "Bob's Your Uncle" as the saying goes.

I hope you like my creation and that you will take the time to leave me a comment before disappearing off to check out all the other creations by my fellow DT mates (links in my sidebar).
Thanks for stopping by and good luck with the challenge.

Challenge 35 at Creative Inspirations.......

.............. is stitching - faux or real.  We have two fabulous sponsors for this challenge, firstly we have Whimsy Stamps and secondly we have the fabulous Glitterbabe.

Well, sewing is definitely not my strong point so I went for the easy option and chose faux stitching.  I chose to make a card for my SIL's birthday which is on 1 June.  I chose an image from Bugaboo because I am really into their images at the moment.  So here is the card I made:
And a close up of the image:
For the backing papers I chose a stripy paper from a Daisy and Dandelion pad called Picnic Patch and then added four triangular papers from a Hot Off The Press book called Tag Art.  I added a small flower using two flower shapes which I cut out with my Cuttlebug and added a pearlised flower shape which I think I recycled from a shop bought card I received a while back.
I am quite pleased with how it turned out and might just use this faux stitching effect again on future cards.

OMG! I very nearly missed this fabulous candy.

I just couldn't resist showing you all what a fabulous talent lies here at this fantastic blog.  The awesomely talented Zoe has some fabulous creations on her blog and this one is just one of the many!
(This pic does not do justice to the actual creation so pop over and have a look at the original!)
I can't believe that apart from the fact that she made this fabulous carousel using Chrissy Armstrong's Carousel horse - it actually bobs up and down just like a real one.  Now you don't have to take my word for it because if you pop over to Zoe's blog you can have a look at a little video she had actually showing it moving.  I wish I had the time (or indeed the inclination) to create such a work of art.

Now, why you may ask am I singing the praises of this talented lady? Well, not only has she got these amazing creations for you to see she is also offering a fantastic blog candy which she will ship internationally so it is open to everyone.
So - what you waiting for - not long left to enter!  Be honest, would you really want to miss the chance to win all of these fabulous goodies??

I Love Digi - Challenge #7 - For My Dad

Hello again,

Time once again for another challenge at I Love Digi and this time the challenge is "For My Dad".  You may interpret this in any way you choose, it could be a birthday, a Father's Day gift or card or a layout or indeed whatever you want.  Remember though that this is I Love Digi so your creation must include a Digi image and/or digi papers/sentiment somewhere.  Our sponsor for this challenge is the Secret Crafter who are offering £10 to spend in the shop.
As it is Father's Day in June here in the UK I decided to make a Father's Day card for my Dad (already made his Birthday card as that is also in June - you can see that here if you would like to).  For my card I used a Digital Delights image called Laptop Ridley.  My Dad has never been what you'd call Computer Nerdy because he never had to use them for work or anything but since he has retired he has this sudden "interest" in computers so I though this image was very fitting.
I have used backing papers from a K & Co paper pad called Hopscotch - I think they are such fun and ideal for male cards.
I cut the image out and placed it onto the middle of the card with the "screen" lifted up slightly so it looked like it was being used!
Please take a moment to visit my teammates blogs and see what they have to inspire you with and it would be nice if you left a little comment just to let me know what you think!  Cheers.

It's Your Day - Challenge #3 at Audsentiments

Hello all,
Firstly thank you to those of you who participated in the last challenge, not so many for this challenge but hopefully as word spreads we will get more entries, and the entries we did have were amazing.  Please pop over to Audsentiments to see if you were the lucky winner.
So onto the challenge for the next fortnight and this time you must use the sentiment "It's Your Day...." and finish it in whatever way you choose.  You can use any image and make a card, layout, ATC, altered project or whatever takes your fancy so long as we can see the sentiment somewhere you will be eligible to enter.
Our sponsor for this challenge is the fabulous Bugaboo Stamps.
Here is what they are offering to our lucky winner!
It won't be an easy choice because they have so many fabulous images to choose from - but boy will you have fun looking.  The DT were lucky enough to be able to choose an image to work with and I chose AV Kids - Cuddle and I chose to make a card to celebrate an engagement.  So here's the card I made:
I have used DP from a set called     which were a candy win some time ago, but I absolutely love them, so cheerful.  I wanted to add a flower to this card but had nothing that would match my DP, so I used three plain cream flowers and using a stencil brush added three different shades of ink to the flowers and then sprayed them with hairspray to seal them and I joined them together with a green glass gem from my stash.  From the flower I suspended a heart gem which I got from Inky Impressions - you should see the choice Nicole has at her store - Amazing!!!

I added my sentiment at the bottom and then inside the card I used an insert from an Ooh La La CD called Fleur D'imagination.  I inserted this into a word document so that I could add my sentiment in on the computer which I printed in green to match the rest of the insert.
I hope you like my card and that it has given you some inspiration to go and make a card to submit for this challenge.  Please take a few minutes to visit the rest of the DT and see what they have to show you - I guarantee you won't be disappointed!!

I will also enter this card into the following challenges:
A Spoon Full of Sugar - Celebrations
Daisy Doodles Challenge - Anything Goes
Digital Tuesday  - Cute People (Well I think they're cute!)

Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate your visit and if you could leave me a comment that would be fantastic too because I really love to read your thoughts.
Happy crafting and good luck.

Ooh La La - Time for Challenge #54

Hello again everyone,
Thank you to everyone who entered our last challenge - be sure to visit the challenge blog to see if you were the lucky winner.
Well time marches on and it's time for another challenge at the Ooh La La Creations Challenge Blog.  This time our challenge is "BRIGHT AND CHEERFUL"  Now I'm sure no-one will have any problems with this challenge.  As usual you can interpret this however you like so long as we can see Bright and Cheerful on your creation.
So without further ado, here is the card I made for this challenge:
This time I have used the images from the Shoes in Bloom CD - I have to say that this is one of my personal favourites (although they are all nice!).  All the elements from this card have come from the Rhodedendron Golden folder and I think you will agree that they are fabulously bright and cheerful.
I used the toppers images, the A4 curl sheet, an A4 backing paper and the sentiment is from the Waterfall sheet.  I used the curl sheet as a pocket to put the sentiment into and attached a ribbon to be able to pull it out easily.
The flowers I have sort of made myself!  I only had white flowers like these so using a stencil brush and two different colour ink pads (to match the colours in the image) I dabbed ink all over the flowers and then sealed them with hairspray so that the colour wouldn't rub off.  I am quite pleased with how they turned out actually - might use this trick again!  Finally I added a heart embellishment from MIC and there you have it.

I shall also enter this card into the challenges at:
Crazy 4 Challenges - Make a pocket on your card
Quixotic Challenge - Let Your Garden Grow - make your own flowers (hope these count!!)

Commissioned birthday card and a few challenges

Hi everyone,
Just thought I'd post this little card I made that my Mum requested for a dear friend of theirs who is due to celebrate his 80th birthday.
Firstly here is the card:
I followed the sketch over at Friday Sketchers which I have shown below:
I used my Lighthouse memories die cutter to cut out the circle for the background and have used brown and blue Stampin Up papers which I won in a candy some time ago.  The image I have used is from Bugaboo and is called "At My Age".  I think the images at Bugaboo are hilarious - if you haven't already been and had a look you really should.
I coloured the image with promarkers and matted this and all the backing papers onto pale blue card.  I have used this image a few times now because it is ideal for a man's card and I love him.
I shall enter this card into the following challenges:
Friday sketchers - sketch
Stamp Something - Celebrate something
Allsorts - Birthdays
DU2DS - Anything Goes
Digital Tuesday - Make me laugh
Paperplay Challenge - Brown and ? (I chose blue)

Challenge #34 - Creative Inspirations

Hello all,
Well, another fortnight has passed us by and I can't believe we are in the middle of May already!!  Soon be Christmas!!!
Thank you to all those of you who joined in our last challenge - remember to hop on over to the challenge blog site to see if you were the lucky winner of the prize from Whiff of Joy!
So on to this fortnight's challenge which is to use punches and dies on your creation.
Whatever else you want to do is entirely up to you so long as you use punches and dies on your creation.
Our sponsor for this challenge is the fantastic Stitchy Bear Stamps who are offering a prize of three digital images from the shop!
So the DT were all lucky enough to choose one of Stitchy's images to work with for this challenge and I chose Short Shorts which you can purchase from Stitchy at the fabulous price of $1.50 as it is currently in the sale at 50% off - so I'd go take a look at the shop as there are soooo many more bargains like this one, you won't be disappointed!
Here is the card I made for this challenge:
I used the sketch from Sketch and Stash (number 35) which I have shown below:
Using my Lighthouse Memories die cutter I cut out my digi image in an oval shape and also cut a larger oval for the background.  I used a Polka Dot background paper which I had in my stash - lord alone knows where it came from I've had it soooo long!!  Then I added a DP from Pink Paislee (fabby papers these).  The pink flowery paper is from a Daisy and Dandelion pad called Picnic Patch and the gorgeous pink ribbon is one I received from Nicole at Inky Impressions with my Charm order - thanks Nicole!
The image was coloured using my promarkers and Sakura Gelly Glaze pens - and no - she didn't wet her knickers - the flash just makes it look that way!!! Sorry!  I added a pre-stamped die cut sentiment and went round the edge of the image with a pink chalk ink pad.  I added some shocking pink flat backed gems and made up a flower from my stash.  The edge of the image is also softened using pink pearlescent chalk and sealed with hairspray.

The challenges I shall enter this into are:
Sketch and Stash - sketch #35
DU2DS - Anything Goes
La La Land - Anything Goes
So, I hope that has given you some inspiration peeps and if you need any more please visit the rest of the DT (links in my sidebar) and see what they have to offer you by way of inspiration.
Good luck everyone.

Thursday again so time for another challenge at I Love Digi

And this time the challenge is to use a charm on your project - simple eh??  Our fabulous sponsors for this challenge is Sew Many Cards:
They are offering 5 digi's to the winner - how cool is that!
So on to my card for this challenge - I decided to use the sketch at Sketch Saturday which I have shown below:
My image for this challenge is by the fabulous Donna at Lil Diva stamps and you can see more of her fabulous images at Stitchy Bear Stamps.
So here is the card I made:
The image is called Sally and I love her.  I used my promarkers and watercolour pencils to colour her in and matted the image on to pale green card.  The two different green papers are from a K&Co pad called Roam and again are matted onto the same pale green card with a scalloped edge on each piece.
I added a sentiment using a Happy Birthday stamp from Clarity Stamp and then added two small and one large rose to compliment the green.
I shall also enter this into the challenge at Stamp Something - Birthday somethings.
Please try and pay a visit to the other DT members as they have some awesome projects which will hopefully give you some inspiration too.
Good luck everyone.
