What would have been..................

...............my next DT project for Digital Ink Co which has sadly had to close!  I had this project ready made for the next challenge so am going to post it anyway.  The theme was to be Anything Goes so I made a door hanger for a baby's bedroom. 

The image I have used is from Stampen with CJ and I just thought it looked so cute and peaceful that it would be perfect for a door hanger on a baby's room.  I didn't have any ready made door hangers so I made my own from two pieces of heavy cardstock which I covered in shocking pink card.  I added a frill around the image which is coloured using a mixture of pencils, promarkers, sakura gelly glaze pens and Marvy markers and then pearlescent chalk on the background.

I then adhered it all to the hanger with silicone glue.  I added a couple of butterflies at the top to compliment the one in the image and some self adhesive pearl gems in decreasing sizes around the cut out.  I am quite pleased with it considering I had to make it from scratch.

Introducing a whole New Generation of Crafters!!!!

Hello everyone,
I just had to let you all know about a challenge blog with a difference. 

This little challenge blog has been started by Morgan.   Morgan is a 9 yr old boy and loves to craft with his mom, his 6 yr old sister Alexis and his 5 yr old brother Jesse.
His mom helped him set up this blog so they can show everything they make.

We would like to get as many little crafters together as possible so we can do 'kids craft' challenges ...no matter how young we would love to see them join in
Do you have a little person? Create them a little blog so they can follow and join in the challenges :D

Our challenges will be posted on the first Wednesday of every month and close on the first Tuesday of the following month  
Now Morgan is getting a little disheartened because he didn't get many entrants into his last challenge and he works so hard to keep things going (obviously Mom helps a little bit here).  So please if you have a little person in your house who can't keep their hands off your stash - encourage them and get them to submit their projects to Morgan's challenge blog - you never know they might even win!!  How proud would you be then eh??

Preview time for the New Releases at Digital Delights.

Good morning my blogging buddies,
I have scheduled this post to appear on Friday morning - so fingers crossed it works!! Anyhooo - Wendy has another new release at Clear Dollar Stamps on 1st March and this is a sneak peek at two of the three fabulous sets being released this time.
The first set is Daisy - shown here:

This was just such a cute set with so many uses I knew I had to have it.  Here is the card I made for this release:

I used five of the 8 stamps in the set and tried to make it look as though Daisy was sitting on her stool with her toys on the floor (mind you I think I've made it look as though the stool is actually squashing the bunny!! LOL).  I coloured the image using my promarkers and Marvy Markers with a little bit of watercolour pencil here and there.  The DP is from a K&Co paper pad called Classic K and I have backed this onto brown cardstock which I have also used as my base.  The gems are from my stash and the roses are a recent purchase from Hobbycraft.
I shall enter this card into the challenge at Cupcake Craft Challenges which is Friendship.
The second of the three sets that Wendy is releasing is called Dylan and I have shown that set below and this is again priced at $7.99   

I used four of the 7 stamps from this set and sat Dylan on the wall next to his "best buddy" Mr Frog - cute isn't it? 

I decided to go with just the one DP for the backing which is from Cosmo Cricket's Mini Deck called The Boyfriend, and layered this onto green cardstock which again I used as my background.  Dylan is coloured using ordinary pencils and the frog is coloured using Marvy Markers.  The little dragonflies and butteflies are from Hobbycraft and were a freebie in a goody bag for the opening of the new Hobbycraft store in Stafford (bad bad move for my bank balance me thinks!!!!)
Again I will enter this into the challenge at Cupcake Craft Challenges which is Friendship and also at ABC where O is for one paper.

Inktegrity's Spring Blog Hop

Hello again crafting friends and Welcome to Inktegrity's Spring Hop!

Oooh I love it when talk turns to Spring.  Hopefully it means that Summer won't be far behind!!
Well it is that time of the year again when Joni is saying farewell to one design team and welcoming in another.  I was proud to be a Guest Designer on the Winter Design Team and was chuffed to bits when Joni asked me if I would like to be a part of the Inktegrity Spring Hop - you bet I would.

So you have probably just visited Melissa's blog. If not, the entire blog hop is listed in order below. This is a celebration of the awesome Design Team and all of you who create with Inktegrity!  All of these images that you see on our blogs were created by request of each member. Along the hop, there is a letter for you to collect - no need to unscramble as it is spelled out for you. Now on to my card and image:
The image Joni gave us to work with is called Farmer Girl and this is the image you will be getting if you get the phrase and email it to her.  This is the card I made:

I used some yellow backing card for the base and the DP I used were from a pack called Cupcakes by Crafts House.  I thought they were bright and springlike to go with the image.  I coloured the image with my promarkers and used watercolour pencils for her hair.  The white card was chalked using pearlescent chalks and this was backed onto a piece of the same yellow card which I inked around the edge using a Chalk Ink Pad in Olive Pastel. 

I printed out the Spring sentiment (also part of the image) and chalked the background in pale green and pale yellow chalks and added a yellow rose in the middle to lift it a bit and I stuck three pearl gems at the bottom of the image.  I added two strips of ribbon down the side in complimentary colours and I am really pleased with the result. The bird is coloured using watercolour pencils. (Yes I know it is supposed to be a chick but I couldn't use any more yellow so I made him into a little bird instead!!)   I used the sketch over at Sketch and Stash but changed the shape from square to oval because it fitted the image better - hope that's ok girls!

This image (and all the others I have worked with) are the reason I enjoyed my time with Joni at Inktegrity.  She produces such fun little characters that you just can't help falling in love with.  Thanks Joni for asking me and keep up the good work.

Digital Ink Co - Challenge No 17

Hello everyone
Oh my word, I have to say thank you once again for all your fabulous entries into the Digital Ink Co challenge last time.  All I can say is I'm glad we use the Random Number Generator to chose a winner because I wouldn't want the job of choosing a winner from all your fabulous entries!  So were you the lucky winner? - hop on over to Digital Ink Co Challenge site and have a look see.

So on to this week's challenge.  This challenge is to do with "Peace".  Now you can take this in whatever way you want to.  It can be World Peace, that special something that brings you peace or you could take it from a completely different angle and go with "piece of cake"!  The choice is completely yours my friends.  So please don't be daunted by the challenge title, just give it a little thought and give it your best shot. Sometimes the challenges we don't want to enter are the ones we win!!

Now my project doesn't meet this week's challenge, and there is a very good reason for this.  My project features a digital image from one of the creators who are sponsoring our three prize winners images. 

This image called "Happy Dayz" is from Lexi's Creations and is priced at $1.50.  You can see this and all of her other wonderful digital images at the Digital Ink Co Store, so hurry on over and grab your little "piece" of Lexi.

So I've told you what the name of the image is and here is a piccy to go with it:

I decided to make not one card but 10, yes ten!!!  This image is just such a sweet simple image I really didn't think it needed to be "overdone".  I wanted to use it as a stand alone image and decided to make a pack of Thank You cards complete with their own presentation box.

So first off I printed out 10 cards with Lexi's image and the words Thank You underneath.  Then I coloured in the images all the same.  I coloured the image with ordinary pencils and added some gold stickles to the middle of the flower where the seeds would be.

I cut 10 lengths of dark yellow ribbon and added a "tie" at the side.  I was going to add a single gem to each card too but couldn't decide where to put it!  So eventually I decided - if I don't know where it should go - then it shouldn't go!!

Then I made a box for the cards to go in.  Using my multiscore board, I cut a base from plain white card and a box lid from sage green card to compliment the cards.  I cut an aperture in the lid and added a piece of acetate so that you could see the cards inside the box.  I added a sage green ribbon across an angle at one corner of the box and then added a flower to the top right of the box for balance.  I also added a piece of bubble wrap to the inside of the box so that the cards wouldn't slide about.
So there you have it - a fabulous little gift or selling item with a fabulously simple image.  So hurry on over to the Digital Ink Co challenge blog site and add your project to Mr Linky to be in with a chance to win one of the fabulous creator images on offer this week along with our sponsor prizes.

Ooh La La Creations - Last GDT card......but some fabby news!

Well this is my final card as a Guest Designer for Ooh La La Creations.  I have really enjoyed my time as a Guest Designer and so was very sad that this was to be my last card for them.

Imagine my delight when Wendi, Emma and Anne asked me if I would like to join the team as a full time Design Member!! Woooooohoooooo!!  Would I?????  You bet I would!  So thank you Wendi, Emma and Anne for asking me to join your fabulous DT - I look forward to working with you all on a permanent basis.

So jubilations aside, this fortnight's challenge was to include Acetate somewhere on your project.  Well, this was well out of my comfort zone I can tell you!  I'm not a big acetate fan at the best of times and when I couldn't get it to go through the printer I thought I was going to cry! So I went away, had a glass of wine and came back to it another day and used the acetate in a different way.
So here is the card I made for this challenge:

I made a tri-fold card from a piece of light sage green card and cut an aperture out of the middle panel.  I put a piece of acetate over the aperture and then placed a piece of backing paper on the opposite card inner.  I then printed off my image which for this challenge is taken from the Shoes in Bloom CD and is called Daffodil.  You can find this and all the other fabulous CD's at the Ooh La La Store.  I cut out the shoe (quite fiddly but well worth it) and stuck this to the acetate on the inside of the card. 

Then I cut two slits in the folds to incorporate my ribbon across the middle of the card, then stuck down the outer third of the card.  Then I cut the same image of the shoe and adhered it to the front (on top of the inner image) of the acetate with silicone glue so that it looked like decoupage.

I tied a piece of yellow ribbon across the middle into a bow (ribbon was from Crafty Ribbons) and added four green gems to each corner of the aperture.  I then added some mulberry daffodils to the left of the ribbon and added a small lemon bow as though they were tied in a bunch.  Finally, I added a gold peel off across the top.

Creative Inspirations DT card - challenge 27!

So my friends, have you been having a good year so far - isn't it going quickly?  Must be getting old eh????
Anyway, time once again for another challenge over at Creative Inspirations.  This fortnight's theme is to make a Thank You card.  I'm sure we've all needed alot of these recently what with Christmas not far behind us so I think this is a perfect challenge for this time of year.
So, here is the card I made for this challenge:

I have used an image from Lil Diva at Digital Ink Co and you can see more of her creations by visiting the Digital Ink Co store.  I have coloured her in using three different shades of blue pencil and used Marvy Markers (thanks Jude!) to highlight the edges and the feathering on the body of her dress.  I used a red Sakura Gelly Glaze pen for the flower centre in her hair. 

The ribbon is from Crafty Ribbons (their service is amazing and the choice is outstanding!) 

The flower is made up from my stash and candy wins.  The gems are also from my stash.  The Thank You stamp is a Clarity Stamp which I stamped using an Impress Ink pad in Cerulean Blue.

I will also be entering this card into the challenge at ABC which is O for One paper.  (This paper is a Stampin Up paper and is double sided but it is still one piece of paper so I hope it counts.)

Hello my good friends,
This is just a quick post to let you all know that I will be doing a Blog Candy very very soon.  Now I would like the number of followers to reach that magical 100 mark and I'd like the hit counter to reach 20,000 - it currently stands at 18,466 so a little way to go yet I feel.
I have been gathering goodies to put into my candy and the pile is slowly growing!!

A woman's work is never done!!!!

So we just have to fit it in around our crafting as best we can!!!!
Seriously folks, I thought the post title summed up this little image I have used from Stitchy Stamps called Chores which you can purchase at the Digital Ink Co store for $3.00

Now I based my card on the sketch over at Sketch Saturday (which I have used before and I liked it so much I decided to use it again!)

First off I coloured her in using ordinary pencils and my La Plume markers (thanks Jude!!)  I used pearlescent chalk around the edge of the image to soften it. 

I layered this onto an old disused CD (not a craft one obviously!!)  I added a ribbon hanger to the CD and added a sentiment bottom left. 

I added a handmade flower from some peel offs stuck to red paper and two other smaller flowers from my stash. 

Instead of using paper or strips of ribbon for the three little lines I decided to use two small bows and 1 peg in the appropriate colours.  The pale lavendar DP is from a Hot off the Press paper pad called Amethyst and the checkerboard red paper is from a Crafter's Companion CD (I think - printed it off ages ago and now can't remember which CD it's from).

So the challenges I will enter this card into are:

Romance in the air??

Hi all,
This is a card I made using Inktegrity images whilst doing my guest DT spot for them in January.  Thank you Joni for asking me - I had alot of fun and loved the blog hop.
Anyway, this card is made using images from the "Dream Big" series that you can find at Inktegrity.  I wanted to do a valentine card with a difference and here it is:

Ain't that the cutest little ladybug you ever saw, I love how she is holding on to her "Love Bug".
I coloured most of the image with Sakura Gelly Glaze pens and ordinary pencils.  I used DP from Pink Paislee and added a funky ribbon across the top just for good measure.  So there you have it a nice simple little Valentine card for a girl to give to a boy.

Good afternoon everyone.
Just one card to show you today - but it did take some colouring!!
I based this card on the sketch over at Sketch Saturday as shown below:

I wanted to do a male card to fit in with the challenge over at Rosie D's challenge which is Just for Men.  By chance this also fits the challenge at Charisma this week which is Think Men.

So here is the card I made for these challenges:

I have used an image from M&M Designz which Judy's Mom has drawn - clever lady!!  You can see all of Judy's images at the Digital Ink Co Store along with the other six creators.  Just click on the Creators tab to see the different creators' images.

I coloured in the image with ordinary pencils and then went over the whole image with a Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Tea Dye) to soften the colours.  I backed this onto some black card and then used a piece of Stampin Up paper as the background piece.  The dark brown card is from a Hot off the Press paper pad called Ivory.  I stamped the Just for You sentiment using an Adirondack ink pad called Rust and then distressed the edges in the same ink.  The little pieces of paper are the reverse side of the Stampin Up paper.  The flowers are all from my stash and are made up from some I won in a Candy and some I already had.

I'm also going to enter this card into:
