Softpencil Tuesday

Well, it's Tuesday again and that means time to showcase another of Elizabeth's fabulous digital images.  This week the Design Team were given "A charmed Christmas Tree" to work with:
ON SALE Digital Stamp / A charmed Christmas tree
This is available to buy in Elizabeth's Etsy store here as her blog shop is closed right now and currently Elizabeth is working on some wonderful new stuff for you all - so watchout for the re-opening coming soon!!  Remember also that these are the last few days of Elizabeth's sale so if you are missing any Softpencil images now is the time to buy them before they are gone for good.
So here is the card I made with this image:
The image is colour with watercolour and metallic pencils and for the snow I have used white glitter.  The image is sitting on another of those fabulous die cuts from Die Cut Dreams and you will see that I have attempted to brayer the background to make it look like the moon is shining across the middle - not sure if it has worked but it was my first attempt - practice makes perfect eh??
Then using my quickie glue pen I put dots all over the background and then added glitter to make it look like it was snowing.  The Happy Christmas ribbon across the middle is available from Crafty Ribbons and the flowers and pearl stems are from my stash.
The backing paper is Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses.
I hope you stop by the rest of the Design Team blogs and see what fabulous creations they have to show you - I know you will love them just as much as I do!
Thanks for stopping by.

Sing a song of Christmas at Ooh La La

Another fortnight rushes on by and that means it is time for another challenge over at Ooh La La Creations.  Our last challenge was Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and we had some fabulous entries.  Sadly some people misread the challenge and just entered ordinary Christmas cards.  Now they were all lovely cards but in order to make it fair, those people whose card didn't match the challenge were not included in the running for the Top 3.  This time it was my turn to choose the Top 3 and boy was it difficult.  The first time I looked I had a top 8 so I had to go back and whittle it down until I was left with just three.  I really wish I could have had a top 8 but alas it could not be.  Now I can't tell you here who my winners were so please pop in to the Ooh La La challenge blog and see who I chose as my Top 3 winners.

So, onto our next challenge which is: "CHRISTMAS SONG".  So for this challenge we want you to base your card or creation on a Christmas Song.  It doesn't have to be a Christmas Carol it can be any type of song associated with Christmas - the choice is yours.  Remember to mention in your post which song you chose (just in case it isn't obvious straight away) - thanks.
Right then, here is the card I made for this challenge and I used "Angels from the Realms of Glory" for my inspiration:
This image is from the new Christmas Presence CD (available now at the Ooh La La shop) and is called Christmas Angel.  I chose the pyramage image and backed it onto gold card.  The backing paper is one of the bonus papers from the same CD.
The two ribbons across the middle are available from Crafty Ribbons and the flower and pearl stems are from my stash.  I added Crystal stickles to the rose to make it glisten.
I hope you like my card and please remember to stop by the rest of the DT and have a look at their fabulous creations - I just know you're gonna love 'em!
Have fun everyone and good luck.

Die Cut Dreams - Candy/Sweets

Monday once again and that means time for another challenge over at Die Cut Dreams.  There were some fabulous Anything but a Card entries for our last challenge - what an inventive lot you all are!!  Made choosing the top 3 really hard but we got there in the end.  Remember to stop by at Die Cut Dreams challenge blog and see if you were one of the "chosen" ones.
So onto our next challenge which is CANDY/SWEETS.  So we want to see candy and/or sweets on your creations this week.
Here is the card I made:
I have had this Anya coloured up for quite a while and just not used her - until today!!  I stamped up my new Magnolia Chocolate Box image, coloured it in with Copics and embossed the bow! Then I sat Anya (from the Anya Love set - available at The Greeting Farm) on top of the box.  I used one of Lynne's fabby sentiments from Sentiments 4 You and coloured it with chalks then sealed it with hairspray.  I added a fabulous red gem brad in the middle.
The whole thing sits on one of those awesome Die Cuts from my very good friend Susie Sugar at Die Cut Dreams and the paper I have used is from a Basic Grey pad called Eskimo Kisses.  The flowers and pins are from my stash and the gold ribbon across the middle is from Crafty Ribbons.
I do hope you like my card and that you will remember to visit the rest of the Dream Team and have a look at all their fabulous creations because they are awesome!!
I am looking forward to seeing all your Sweet entries into this challenge - have fun everyone.

Softpencil Tuesday

Happy Tuesday to you all.  I hope you are all managing to keep warm and dry and this ever worsening weather.
Well, it is Tuesday again and that means another showcase of one of Elizabeth's fabulous images.  This week the Design Team were given the cute image called Sweet Sailors to work with.
So here is my card:
The backing card is from a Paperstack from DCWV called Once Upon a Time and, in case you can't make it out, it is of a treasure island.  The die cut is, of course available from the fabulous Susie at Die Cut Dreams.
I have stamped the oval background with little blue fishes (individual stamps from Clarity Stamps).  I added three blue buttons, a fabulous double bow (look carefully the ribbon has sea shells on it) - and the ribbon is available at Crafty Ribbons.......
......and then hung two charms from the die cut, one a fish and the other a dolphin.  The image is coloured with Copics and Sakura Gelly Glaze pens.  (Sorry the photos are a bit dark!)
So, remember that the Softpencil shop on the blog is currently closed but you can still buy all of Elizabeth's fabulous images from her Etsy shop and what's more they are on sale at the moment too!

Die Cut Dreams - Anything but a Card!

Monday again and that means another challenge over at Die Cut Dreams.  Well another fabulous week of entries using staples on your creations - some very ingenious ideas!!  Remember to stop by the challenge blog and see if you were amongst our lucky winners.
So onto the next challenge which is "ANYTHING BUT A CARD" - that means no cards allowed!!  I really don't like these sorts of challenges because I am primarily a card maker and this always leaves me having to think about what to do.  However, since I found Craftsuprint I don't struggle as much - there are some fabulous kits to download there - if you haven't visited before just click the link on my sidebar and go take a look - it really makes these sorts of challenges a bit easier to cope with that's for sure!
So on to my project:  I decided to go for a Cot Kit and Gift Box and here it is:
The project sheet comes with all the necessary instructions and there is usually a picture of the finished article for you to see what it should look like when it is completed.

The sheets have embellishments on them too so you can decorate the box and cot as much or as little as you like.  Here are a few close ups of the embellishments that I used.
So I hope you like my project - please stop by the rest of the Dream Team to see their marvellous creations - and honestly I really do mean Marvellous!!
I am looking forward to seeing what you all come up with - good luck and have fun!

Tilda's gone all Glitz and Gold!!

Well another two weeks has rushed on by and that means another new challenge over at the Totally Tilda Challenge Blog.  Thank you for all your fabulous Icy Christmas (Blue and Silver) creations on our last challenge - I never realised that blue and silver could look soooo different!!  Remember to stop by the Totally Tilda blog and see if you were amongst our winners!

So, without further ado, onto our next challenge - which is, as the title may suggest, "GLITZ AND GOLD".  So this is your chance to get out all that fabulous glitter and bling it up big style.  Remember our only Rule is that you must use Tilda on your creation - you can use other images too such as Edwin etc but Tilda must be the main feature!  So that's the pep talk out of the way - time to move on to the fun bit!
Here is my card for this challenge:
This image is one that I was sent by one of my fabulous Tilda loving friends - I have so many images and stamps now that I think I can officially be classed as "ADDICTED" LOL.  The die cut (available at Die Cut Dreams) is edged with gold glitter.
The image is coloured in with promarkers and I have added gold glittery highlights.  I used my quickie glue pen and gold glitter to do this as the stickles doesn't flow that well!
The DP is from a DCWV paper pad called Once Upon a Time and I chose it 'cos it had gold glitter on it!!  The pine cone glittery ribbon was purchased from the NEC and is available at Crafty Ribbons.  The large flowers (which I cut in half) were from my stash as were the roses.  I sprayed the flowers and roses with Spray and Sparkle but I'm not entirely happy with them as I think they look a bit grubby!  The sentiment is a die cut from my stash.
So I hope you like my card and remember to visit the rest of the Totally Tilda DT and have a look at their fabulous creations too!!  Thanks for stopping by and have fun!
I will enter this into the following challenges:
Simon Says Stamp - Sparkle
Fussy and Fancy - Christmas with no red or green
Die Cut Dreams Christmas Club - Anything Goes
Creative Inspirations - Anything Christmassy/Winter
ABC Christmas Challenge - X is for Xmas

Merry Christmas at Softpencil

Hello everyone,
Tuesday again and that means time to showcase another of Elizabeth's fabulous digi images from Softpencil.  This week the DT were asked to work with this little image:ON SALE Digital Stamp / Merry Christmas
It is called Merry Christmas and is available from Elizabeth's Etsy shop as her Softpencil shop is currently closed - but don't worry it will be back in the New Year with lots of fabulous new goodies for you all.  Remember also that for the whole of November there is 20% off the entire range!!

So here is the card I made with this image.
I used stickles for the snow in the sky, liquid pearls for the snow on the roof and the chimney and white glitter for the snow on the ground.  As you can see, some nice kind person has cleared the path to the front door!!
I added two punched snowflakes and a white double bow on the one side and I did an edging on the opposite side.  This was something I saw done at the NEC using double sided tape, ric rac ribbon and two shades of glitter - I love how it looks!!
Please remember to stop by the rest of the DT (links at the top of the page) and have a look at their wonderful creations - I just know you're gonna love 'em!
Thanks for stopping by!

Rudolph dropped in at Ooh La La!!

Well, okay so he didn't actually stop by and visit but he is the theme for our next challenge at Ooh La La Creations.  Thank you all so much for your wonderful Remember Remember creations.  There were so many different takes on this challenge it was lovely to read about all your wonderful memories!  Remember to stop by the Ooh La La blog and see if you were picked in our top 3.
So, onto the next challenge which is Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer!
Here is my card for this challenge:
I decided to show once again how versatile the Ooh La La CD's are and combined one of the fabulous backing papers from the Joyeux Noel CD with a freebie digital image from Pink Gem (thanks Janet), which I
have backed onto silver mirri card.

I have added some pale blue baby's breath flowers which I have tied together with a white sparkly ribbon and also added a blue and a cream pin to finish off.

The die cut greeting is from a set of die cut greetings that I have had in my stash for ages but I think you can still get them at Hobbycraft.
So please remember to visit the rest of the Ooh La La DT (links at the top of the page) and have a look at their fabulous inspirational projects and most of all - have fun.

Die Cut Dreams - Use staples on your creation!

Well, yet another Monday rushes in to greet us and that means another new challenge over at Die Cut Dreams.  Firstly though a big thank you to those of you who submitted an entry for our Door Hanger challenge - obviously not a big favourite in blogland - still those who entered were fabulous!!  Pop over to the challenge blog to see if you were amongst our top picks!
So onto a new challenge which, as I said is to use staples on your work!  Now when I first saw this I was filled with dread - but then after I calmed down a bit I realised I was making a big issue out of it - and when I finally decided on which image to use - adding the staples was the easy bit.
The image is one of the new releases at LOTV which I purchased at the NEC the other week (along with five others!!! - well who can resist them they are soooo cute). It is stamped in Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Fired Brick) and the colouring on the hat and coat is dragged in from the stamped image using a wet paintbrush. (Sadly I let the ink dry too much and this made it a bit more difficult than Sheena Douglas made it look at the NEC!!)
The die cuts (available from Die Cut Dreams) are stapled together and the background is stamped with tapestry stamps to add a bit of interest.  The fabulous red ribbon is from Crafty Ribbons and again was bought at the NEC.  The corner sticker and the snowflakes are from my stash (lord knows how old they are!) as are all the flowers and pins, and I turned the top corner of the backing paper which is from Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses and secured it with a red brad.  The greeting is from a die cut set of greetings that I've had for ages.
So there you have it - my DT card for Using Staples on Your Work!  I hope you enjoy this new challenge and I look forward to seeing all your wonderful creations this week.
I shall enter this card into the challenge over at Die Cut Dreams Christmas Club where the theme is snowflakes and also into the Pollycraft Monday Challenge - Glittery Christmas (glittery snowflakes, glittery snow and fur and glitter on the flowers)

Midway Reminder - Totally Tilda's Icy Christmas challenge.

Just a quick post Tilda fans to remind you that you have one more week to enter all your Icy Christmas creations into our current challenge at Totally Tilda.
I have made another card to show you and this one is from the new Merry Christmas release which you can purchase now at Bunny Zoe's Crafts.  Nikki has a fantastic selection of goodies in her shop and here service is second to NONE!!!
So here is the card I made:
I have used a die cut from Die Cut Dreams and chalked around the edge of the white part with pale blue chalk.  I have coloured the image with watercolour pencils and added glitter to her wings and the star she is holding.
The poinsettias are glittered peel offs, stuck to acetate and cut out then joined together with a blue snowflake brad and stuck on with silicone.  The Merry Christmas is a recycled piece off a Christmas Cracker....
........ and the ribbon is from Crafty Ribbons.  I have added a silver brad to the centre of the ribbon and have hung a snowflake charm from the brad.  The papers are once again from Summer Driggs and are from the Giving kit.
So there you have it, I do hope you will find the time to join in with this challenge which I have to say is one of my favourites up to now.

Two birds on a Kite - Calendar - Softpencil Tuesday

Well, Tuesday again and that means another Softpencil Tuesday.  This week the DT were given one of Elizabeth's beautiful calendars to use and this one is called Two Birds on a Kite!
I printed the calendar off on to yellow paper then printed it off again on to white and cut out the birds, the kite and Michu and then stuck them on to the first calendar - a bit like paper piecing I guess.
Then I sprayed the calendar all over with my newly purchased (from the NEC) Spray and Sparkle Irridescent - why have I never used this stuff before????? Thanks Ali!!
Then I adhered the yellow paper to a piece of gold card and attached a piece of cord to the back of the card so that the calendar could hang on the wall - perhaps it will help me keep track of all my DT work next year!! LOL
Now remember, Elizabeth's Softpencil store on her blog is currently closed as she is redesigning all her images.  But never fear Michu and his friends will be back in the New Year along with some fabulous new goodies.  If you still want to purchase any of Elizabeth's fabulous digi images etc you can still do so by visiting her Etsy Store.

See you again next Tuesday for another Softpencil project.  Don't forget to visit the rest of the Design Team to see their lovely creations.
