Pixie Dust

Hi all,
Well, I am really enjoying my colouring at the moment.
You see I signed up for these colouring classes over at Kit and Clowder.
Kit and Clowder is an online Forum for folks who want to improve their colouring.
The wonderful Alyce Keegan will guide you through every aspect of colouring including light sources.  She also gives one to one feedback to class members so that you can see where you are going wrong or need to improve. Seriously if you have ever looked at a project and thought "I wish I could colour like that" - well now you can.  There are lots of sponsors who give their images for Alyce's classes so people can practice and there are some very generous discounts for Class members too.  Honestly, it really is a no brainer.
Okay, so you have to pay for the classes but, and here's the good bit - the classes can be taken at your own pace.  You have access to them for life. There are videos to download too and you can print the class material off to read away from your computer too.
They also have a Facebook page here - you will find lots of like minded people who just want to improve their colouring.  Now I have a looooong way to go yet but I now have the confidence to think I can actually achieve great things where my colouring is concerned.
So, onto my next card.
This image is one of the fabulous Krista's from Saturated Canary - love her images.
This one is called Pixie Dust and I have eventually got around to colouring her up.
She is coloured with my Spectrum Noir pencils. I also added a bit of glamour dust to her wings.
The three little pennants at the top are from the Snow Princess pad of papers from LOTV.
The flowers were some of the plain cream flowers which I have sprayed with my Colour Chemistry spray inks.
The dinky little piece of ribbon is Seam binding from Crafty Ribbons and the lace is from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Icy Snow Queen

Hello lovelies
Just popping by to show you a card I made for a challenge over on the Kit and Clowder facebook page.
This challenge was a colour palette challenge and was part of the 4000 followers party over the last week and what a party it was too.
If you haven't heard of Kit and Clowder before it is run by the lovely Alyce Keegan and is a place where people can go to share their colourful creations.
Alyce offers classes for those of you who would like to improve your colouring skills.
I have signed up for a few of her classes and already I think my colouring has changed quite significantly.
Why not pop in to the Facebook page and have a mooch around.
Alyce will always answer any questions you may have and everyone is so friendly, you won't want to leave.
So on to my project then:
As I said in the title this image is called Icy Snow Queen and is from Aurora Wings.
The image is coloured with my Spectrum Noir Pencils and the very edge of the image is done with Pan Pastels chalk.
I am really pleased with the shading on here.
It took me ages to colour but it was soooo worth the effort.
The papers are from the Snow Princess pack from LOTV. I love those papers, but I really should use them more instead of hoarding them. Lol.
The seam binding ribbon is from Crafty Ribbons and the flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts.

First Christmas

Hello lovelies,
So did you read on the last challenge that we will be going to bi-weekly challenges from now on??
Well I just thought I would mention it in case you hadn't noticed.  So now you have two weeks to get your wonderful ribbon creations entered.
Well it is the turn of the Buttons Team to host the challenge this week.
And this week the theme is
FIRST CHRISTMAS
It doesn't have to be Baby's first christmas, it can be your first Christmas card, first christmas as a couple, first christmas holiday so long as it is a Christmas First it will fit our bill. And remember we always like to see a bit of ribbon.
So long as your creation fulfils the challenge you can make whatever you like, cards, layouts, altered items, take your pick and have fun.
So here is my offering for this week:
So my first Christmas card this year, first time I have used this stamp and the first time I have used the fabulous EXCLUSIVE Christmas ribbon.
The stamp is one of a set of four images and one blank stamp from Clarity Stamp.
Stamped in Versamark detailed black ink onto Theuva Card from Clarity Stamp.
I coloured just the breast of the bird red (as in Robins) with my Spectrum Noir pencils and added some gold glamour dust to the bauble cap.  I  clear embossed the black parts of the stamp to make them stand out.
The ribbon is one of the new EXCLUSIVE ribbons at Crafty Ribbons and it finished my card off a treat.
I am looking forward to seeing your lovely creations.
