Softpencil Thursday - DT card

Hello Softpencil fans!  I hope you are all feeling fit and healthy as the weather gets colder and the nights draw in.  It is time once again for us to showcase another of Elizabeth's Halloween images and this week we are showcasing this little treasure - called Trick or Treat.
Here is the card I made:
I coloured all the elements in with my promarkers and then cut them all out.  I cut out two ruffled circles in contrasting papers with my Lighthouse Cutter and then stuck the little characters on to the inner circle.  I used papers from Summer Driggs called Happy Halloween. I also added a piece of black lace across the top and five little square gems at the bottom.
So please stop in and visit the rest of the DT and see what fabulous creations they have to show you, links are on the DT tab at the top of this page.

Teddy Bear's Birthday - DCD DT card

Hello everyone, well it's Monday again so time for another challenge at Die Cut Dreams.  Firstly though I'd just like to say thank you for your fabulous entries into our Vellum challenge - what a creative lot you are.  Stop by the Die Cut Dreams challenge blog to see if you were one of our lucky winners/top 3.
So onto the next challenge and this time it is Teddy Bear's Birthday.  You can interpret this in whatever way you wish so long as we can see the challenge in your creation.
Here is my card for this challenge.
I decided to use one of Susie's fabulous Die Cut Teddy Bears (available from Die Cut Dreams) and I sat him on a blue Die Cut from???? Yes you guessed it - Die Cut Dreams which I had inked the edges with red chalk ink.
The backing paper is from a Crafter's Companion CD called Occasions and the "flower" is a tea bag fold, again printed from the same CD which I printed in blue to match the die cut. I added a red pearl brad to the centre to co-ordinate with the rest of the card.
The sentiment is one I have done on the computer, printed in red onto blue card.
Please stop by the rest of the DT blogs and see what fabulous inspiration they have come up with and please leave them some love - I know they appreciate it!
Thanks for looking and have fun.

Glitter and sparkle at Totally Tilda

Gosh these fortnights are rushing by quicker and quicker!  What an awesome array of flowers we were treated to for our last challenge - what a talented bunch you all are!  Remember to stop by the Totally Tilda challenge blog and see if you were our lucky winner or one of our top 3.  Remember these are not chosen by Random Org - they are all hand picked by our Susie Sugar and the Design Team.
So this fortnight we want to see all your Glitter and Sparkle creations.  Again, please feel free to interpret this however you want but remember there must be a Tilda on your creation somewhere.
So here is the card I made for this challenge:
This image was sent to me by my good friend Ali (aka Dragonlady) and as soon as I received it I had to colour it in but I have not used it until now so thanks Ali.  Once I'd coloured here in using my watercolour pencils I added gold stickles glitter glue to the ribbon and cyrstal stickles to the flowers on her pole.
Obviously she is adhered to another of those fabulous Die Cuts from Die Cut Dreams and I stamped around the edge of the white die cut with my tapestry stamps in gold and brown.  I added an organza cream ribbon bow with gold shards in and this is stuck on to a self adhesive gold ribbon.  I added three gold glittered snowflakes and a die cut sentiment which I've had in my stash for ages.
I think it is safe to say that this card has glitter and sparkle don't you?? LOL  Anyhoo, remember to stop by the rest of the DT and see what fabulous, and I do mean fabulous - creations they have to show you.
Now off you go and get out all your glittery, sparkly stuff and get creating, can't wait to see what you come up with this time.  Have fun.

Softpencil Thursday - DT card

Hi all,
Another Thursday rushes into our lives and that means it is time for me to showcase another of Elizabeth's fabulous images.  This one is called Best Friend - I think you can see why.  Here is the card I made:
I coloured it with my promarkers and then cut it out and adhered it with sticky pads to one of my fabulous Die Cuts from Die Cut Dreams - if you've never been you really should - there's loads of fabulous goodies to choose from!!
I added three flat backed pearls in colours to compliment the papers I used.
I made my own ticket sentiment (yeah I know you can tell!! LOL) and added a flower top right to finish off.  The papers are from Crafts House and are called Tutti Frutti.

Remember to keep an eye of the Softpencil blog as Elizabeth has loads of upcoming exciting news that you will not want to miss!  Don't forget also that there is a Softpencil group at Papercraft Planet where you can chat with other Softpencil fans, grab the occasional freebie and join in the odd challenge or two!
Challenges entered:
A Spoonfull of Sugar - Anything Goes
Digital Tuesday - One for the girls plus digi
Papertake Weekly - Anima Magic

Time for Sentiment at Ooh La La!

Hi all,
Well another fortnight has passed us by and that must mean it is time for another fabulous challenge over at Ooh La La.  First though let me say thank you to all those who entered our Stripes challenge.  There sure were some varied entries for that one.  Remember to stop by the challenge blog and see if you were our lucky winner.
So onto the next challenge which is to use a Sentiment as your main element.  You can use images too but the sentiment must be the MAIN feature of your project.
So without further ado, here is the card I made:
I used the frames and tags folder on the Fleur D'imagination CD, I printed off the sentiment and backed this onto pale gold card.  Then I used a sheet of DP from a Basic Grey 6 x 6 paper pad called Wisteria which I backed onto green card.  The only other things I added were three green heart gems bottom left and a green bow top right to finish off.  Here is a close up of the sentiment:
If you don't have any Ooh La La products there are always some freebies on the store site that you could use before you decide whether or not to buy any of the CD's - I am sure you will though because they are soooo useful.

Die Cut Dreams - Dig out Your Vellum!

Well Monday again and you know what that means - YAY!! Time for another challenge at Die Cut Dreams.  Firstly though let me say a huge big thank you to all those who entered our Sweet Little Girls challenge, oh boy I never realised that there were so many sweet little girlie digi's out there!!  Stop by the Die Cut Dreams challenge blog and see if you were our lucky winner or one of our fabulous Top 3!  Thank you also to our sponsor for last week - the wonderful Wendy aka Louby Loo from Digital Delights.
So onto this week's challenge which is to use Vellum on your creation.  You can use it in any way you wish - the only limitation is your imagination.  If you need some inspiration remember to stop by the Challenge blog and have a look at the awesome creations my team mates have come up with - and do I mean Awesome!!
Well, here is the card I made for this challenge:
This technique is called the Stained Window effect and I found the tutorial at SplitCoastStampers here - which is where I go for alot of my inspiration - well worth a visit.
First off you stamp your image onto a piece of vellum and then emboss it with clear embossing powder, (or you could use an embossing ink pad and emboss with dark embossing powder - your choice).  Then you colour your image on the reverse.
Then adhere it to your project so that the raised embossed side is facing you.  I added a red frame and gold peel off's to make it look like a picture frame.  I added a fabulous die cut from my favourite Die Cut store - Die Cut Dreams and added a green polka dot bow.  I finished off with three red gems at the top and three green gems at the bottom.  Quite a clean and simple card but I think it looks quite effective!

Softpencil Thursday - Halloween Peek-A-Boo!

Ooh, these Thursday's seem to come round really quickly - I must be getting old!!
This week we are showcasing another of Elizabeth's Halloween digital images and this one is called Halloween Peek-a-boo!  You can buy it here.
Halloween isn't really that big here in the UK but being part of the blogging fraternity gives me a chance to make cards I wouldn't otherwise do.  So without further ado here is the card I made:
The papers I have used are called Halloween and are by Summer Driggs - what awesome talent this girl has - if you haven't come across her blog you really should pay a visit!
Because the papers are so fabulous I have left this card quite simple and have only added a double bow and some flat backed gems but I'm really pleased with it.  I hope you like it.  Remember to visit all the rest of the DT and see what fabulous inspiration they have to show you.

Aud Sentiments challenge # 11 - Cheer Up

I can't believe how quickly these fortnights are rushing by, soon it will be Christmas and just as soon it will be New Year!!
Thank you again to all those people who entered our last challenge of Best Wishes - we had some super entries once again which does make picking the winner and top 3 very hard - but enjoyable nonetheless.  So stop by the challenge blog and see if you were one of the lucky winners.
This next challenge will be the first for our new DT members so please remember to stop by their blogs and leave them some love and encouragement.  So what is the next challenge I hear you say??? Well the sentiment we would like you to use this time is "Cheer Up" - you can add words to this or not whatever you wish, just so long as they appear somewhere on your card then you will be eligible to win our prize.  Talking of prizes, our sponsor for this challenge is Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps and they are offering our winner 5 Robyn's Fetish digital products, how cool is that.
So here is the card I made for this challenge:
The DT were lucky enough to use some images from our sponsor and this one is called "A little bird told me".
Remember to enter our monthly candy drawing - and don't forget to look out in case our Audrey sneaks in something extra for you to do to get an extra entry!!

Would you like to be a Papercraft Star?

If the answer is yes then you should be following their blog.

Papercraft Star is a challenge blog and their winners are always picked by the voting public.  At the close of each challenge the public are given the opportunity to vote and the person who receives the most votes will be deemed the winner.  You get to put the Papercraft Star button on your blog and sometimes there are valuable prizes to be won.  Then on top of that every three weeks, the Judges get together to select a Papercraft (Super) Star from the People's Choice Award Winners of the previous three challenges.
They have just reached 250 followers and are giving away a $25.00 gift certificate to one lucky follower.  So why not go along and join them and leave a comment, you have until this Friday 17 September to become a follower and leave a comment.   If you leave a comment please say where you read about them because then I get more entries into the pot to win the voucher, and, if you then recommend someone and they join up you get more chances to enter too!!
Good luck!

Sweet Little Girls at Die Cut Dreams

Well, it is Monday again and you know that means it is time for the next challenge at Die Cut Dreams.
Thank you for all your wonderful Pearls and Pins creations last week, they were truly outstanding.  Sadly there can only be one winner but if you aren't lucky enough to actually win you could still be one of our top 3 so why not hop on over to the challenge blog to read the winners post which always heads up the next challenge.
Talking of the next challenge - we are lucky to be sponsored this week by the wonderful Wendy at Digital Delights.  I am particularly pleased to be working with Wendy's images this week as my first Design Team place (well Tutorial Team really) was with Wendy and I can't thank her enough for giving me my "Big Break" as it were so thanks Wendy.
The prize this week is a $10 voucher to spend at Digital Delights (although I'm sure you'll spend more than that!)
So without further ado here is the card I made using the Penny and her Teddy digital stamp which you can buy here and at only $2.00 I think it is great value.
I coloured the image with my promarkers and then cut her out and adhered the image to one of those fabulous die cuts from my good friend Susie Sugar at Die Cut Dreams
I added two pieces of flowery ribbon down either side (again another Freebie Friday win at Crafty Ribbons) and added a name to the left hand side.
The papers I have used are from a Crafts House paper pad called Tutti Frutti.  This card is for my bestest blogging buddy Ali's (aka Dragonlady) youngest daughter who turned 4 on Saturday.  I hope she liked it!
So, I can't wait to see all your Sweet Little Girls entries this week - happy crafting!!
I will enter this card into the challenge at:

Totally Tilda says "Make Your Own Flowers"

Hello my Tilda loving friends, I hope you are all well.
Well it is Sunday again and that means it is time for another challenge over at Totally Tilda but before I give you the details I would just like to say thank you for all your wonderful Lilac and Lace entries for the last challenge.  Boy is it hard to choose a top 3 out of all the fabulous creations we have seen over the last fortnight.  Stop by the Totally Tilda blog to see if you were our lucky winner or one of our Top 3.
So, onto the next challenge and this time the challenge is as the title of the post says, Make Your Own Flowers.  If you've never made your own flowers there are alot of tutorials out there on places like You Tube and Splitcoast Stampers - you'll be amazed at some of them.
So here is the card I made for this challenge:

You will notice that I have used the Oriental Tilda from the Bon Voyage collection so it was only fitting that I made a Water Lily to go with it and I found the tutorial on You Tube although once I had seen the tutorial it was pretty much common sense - takes you right back to your childhood making things like this!!
The ribbon down the side was from Crafty Ribbons as are most of my ribbons.  The little pink butterfly was cut from a Butterfly ribbon again from the same place which I won in one of their Freebie Fridays - check my post here for some details of how you could win £50 to spend at their store!!

My image was coloured with promarkers, Sakura Gelly Glaze pens and watercolour pencils.

Please remember to stop by the rest of the DT blogs and see what fabulous inspiration they have to show you too - you won't be disappointed.  So what are you waiting for, get your creativity flowing and get those flowers made but most of all have fun.  Don't forget, your card must include our Tilda on it somewhere or you won't be eligible to win our fabulous prize.  Good luck.
I will enter this card into the challenge at:

Oldie but a Goodie!

Just had to let you know about a new challenge blog called Oldie but a Goodie.  The idea behind it is to use your old stamps (more than 6 months old) and enter a creation into their challenge following the theme set every other Tuesday.  Now my fellow teamie at DCD Tracy is on their DT so I just had to support it now didn't I?  So I became a follower and thought I'd enter a card into their first challenge.
The theme for this first challenge is New Beginnings so I thought I'd make a Wedding Card and here it is:

I used a stamp I have had in my stash for several years - but it doesn't get out much!!  I didn't want to use too much colour so I used watercolour pencils and just used very faint colours with darker shades on the "crease lines" of the clothes.
I added a flower corsage to the left hand side and stamped Congratulations (another stamp I've had for years!!) at the bottom.  Oh yes, I used one of the large circular die cuts that you can buy at Die Cut Dreams - what would I do without you Susie???  Now I used an ink pad to colour the larger die cut because I wanted it to be burgundy and I only had pink (hope you don't mind Susie!!)
