DCD Challenge #97 - Make a Gift box or bag.

Good morning my blogging friends.  Here we are at the start of another week so that must mean it is time for a new challenge at Die Cut Dreams.  Thank you once again to all those who entered our last challenge.  Please remember to stop by the Die Cut Dreams challenge blog to see if you were one of our lucky winners.
So, onto the new challenge and this time the theme is:
MAKE A GIFT BOX OR GIFT BAG
So time to get your thinking hats on and get crafting.
Here is my project for this fortnight's challenge:
This little box started life as a perfume box.  Once I had taken the perfume out of it I opened it all out and used a 12 x 12 piece of thick patterned paper to glue it to.  Then I cut it out and re-assembled it.
I added a piece of beautiful ribbon which I bought from Crafty Ribbons in a clearance sale, all around the middle.  The big brown bow is made from wired brown tafetta again from Crafty Ribbons.
The three little tags on the sides came from a Hot Off The Press paper pad called Earth Tones that I have had in my stash for ages and again the three little pieces of narrow brown ribbon came from Crafty Ribbons.
That absolutely gorgeous flower on the top is one that I bought from Suzanne a while back, isn't it fabulous??

So there you have it, a simple but effective little gift box.
Well peeps, I can't wait to see what you all come up with over the next two weeks.  Have fun!

My exciting news!!

Hello peeps.
Well, you may remember a few days ago that I did this post showing some of my creations with ribbon as part of my DT application for the new Crafty Ribbons Challenge Blog.
Well, the lovely Mandy contacted me yesterday to say that I was one of the people that had been chosen to be part of this new Challenge DT!!!  Woooooohoooooo!!

* * * * * * * * * * * *

How does the saying go again, "when one door closes, another door opens" and that is how it has been with me.  The lovely Elizabeth from Softpencil closed her digital store and the fabulous Lynne has decided to close down the Do It With Digi's challenge blog due to some current health issues. (Hope you are continuing to improve Lynne - big hugs!!).  So that meant I had a bit more time on my hands and when I saw the DT call for Crafty Ribbons, well I just HAD to go for it.

* * * * *  * * * * * * *

Those of you who have followed me for a while will know that I adore Crafty Ribbons (and their buttons) and that I have always praised their service and delivery.  I am sure you can imagine the whoops and shouts of joy and delight upon reading Mandy's email.  So, thanks Mandy and Ali for inviting me to be a part of the Crafty Ribbons DT, I hope I will do it justice.

Now don't forget people that there is a Candy on offer at the challenge blog and you still have a bit of time to get in on the act and win some gorgeous ribbons as this is open until Wednesday 31 August, the day before we go live with our first challenge.
If you pop over now to the challenge blog you will be able to meet the rest of the Design Team and their links will be on my blog ready for Thursday too.
The first challenge will go live on Thursday 1st September and I do hope you will pop over and join in the fun.  We shall be having a winner and a top 3 but you know what they say - you've got to be in it to win it!
So please come back on Thursday to see my new DT project for the Crafty Ribbons Challenge.

Singing in the rain??

Hi all,
Not something I get chance to do very much of these days - a card I made just for challenges.
I saw the challenge at Make it Colourful which is Make it Wet and knew I wanted to use Tilda Summer Rain. You can't use gloss just your markers or normal colouring medium.  I have used promarkers and I hope I have achieved the wet look on the puddle and the raindrops.
The image has been coloured with my promarkers and I chalked around the edge of the die cut.  The DP are from a Basic Grey pad called Wisteria.

I used my new ribbon punch down the right hand side of the card and threaded some sheer lilac ribbon through.  All the flowers are from my stash (a new stock of which I have just bought off a friend who has given up her crafting life - can you believe that??) LOL  The gems are from my stash.

Other challenges I would like to enter this into are:
Magnolia Down Under - Inspired by a Song (Singing in the Rain)
Magnolia Stamp Lovers - Lots of Flowers
Fussy and Fancy - Use a lot (flowers - way more than 3!)
Thanks for looking folks!

Colour challenge at DCD

Good morning my blogging friends.  Here we are at the start of another week so that must mean it is time for a new challenge at Die Cut Dreams.  Thank you once again to all those who entered our last challenge.  Please remember to stop by the Die Cut Dreams challenge blog to see if you were one of our lucky winners.
So, onto the new challenge and this time the theme is:
PINK GREEN AND COFFEE
So time to get your thinking hats on and get crafting.
Here is my project for this fortnight's challenge:
I sprayed a doily with pink Cosmic Shimmer Mist to match little Tilda's top.  The coffee coloured DP is from a Papermania pad called Regency.  The image is coloured with my prismacolour pencils.  The sentiment is one of Lynne's from Sentiments 4 You.  I used coffee coloured ribbon across the top and threaded it through the image to make it look like Tilda was hanging from the ribbon.
Please hop on over to the rest of the DT blogs and have a look at their fabulous inspiration, you won't be disappointed.
Well peeps, I can't wait to see what you all come up with over the next two weeks.  Have fun!

Belles and Whistles All Customer Blog Hop

A very good Monday morning to you one and all.  I hope your weekend was good.  I would like to welcome you to the Belles ‘n Whistles “All Customer Blog Hop” We are so excited to be a part of this special release. Along this hop you will find those new releases. And we, as customers of Belles ‘n Whistles, get to play along using any of our favorite BnW Stamps…
Today we are celebrating the rebirth of the darling SweetArt girls designed by none other than Artist Elisabeth Bell. Belles ‘n Whistles now has a total of 17 SweetArt girls in their store. They were just too beautiful to be left sitting in the archives. Elisabeth Bells talent deserves better than storage, don’t you think?

If you have just popped in, it would be great if you started in the beginning, and hopped along with us. You will find the master list of participants over on the Belles ‘n Whistles Inspirational Blog. To keep things easy, please follow that list and leave a comment on each blog. Do you know why? Because YOU could win a stamp from Belles ‘n Whistles, just for leaving some love along the way. There will be FIVE winners chosen randomly from comments that have been left along the way. No one knows who’s blog the winners will come from.
Now here is the card I have made for this Customer Blog Hop.
I have used the "A Pen Friend" image (although it is out of stock there are still some lovely stamps to buy - why not pop over and take a look here) and it is coloured with Copics and Promarkers.
The DP is some that my TT team mate Christine sent me (thanks Mummy) and all the embellishments are from my stash.
So sit back, grab a cup of coffee, tea, or Lemonade and enjoy all the fun and exciting things we, the Belles ‘n Whistles Customers, have to share with you today.
I shall enter this card into the following challenges:

So here is the card I made:
The image is coloured with Prismacolour pencils and the background has been coloured using mainly chalks but I've used my promarkers on the bench and butterflies.
All the flowers are from my stash as is the bow (yes it is actually a bow!) on the side.
