Ribbons and Buttons at Crafty Ribbons

Hello lovelies,
Well it is the turn of the Buttons Team to host the challenge this week.
And this week the theme is
RIBBONS & BUTTONS
So long as your creation fulfils the challenge you can make whatever you like, cards, layouts, altered items, take your pick and have fun.
So here is my offering for this week:
I used a Lili of the Valley stamp called James - Pile of Presents which I coloured with my pencils.
I brushed Spun sugar distress ink around the edge of the card the image is stamped on and matted it onto some green card.
The background paper is some I have had for ages and I can't remember where from, sorry, I think it was a freebie with a magazine if my memory serves me right.
The fabulous Happy Christmas ribbon is of course from Crafty Ribbons HERE

And all the buttons also came from Crafty Ribbons too - have a look HERE
This card went together really well and I am chuffed to bits with it.
I am looking forward to seeing your lovely creations.
And the bonus is - I've started my Christmas Cards early!! hahahaha

So here is my Midway creation for you:
Obviously you will have guessed by now I don't have any sewing Tildas so this time I chose Tilda with heart lace. I masked Tilda and stamped the dress form behind her as well as the two little cases (full of sewing stuff they are! Lol)
Tilda is coloured with my Polychromo pencils. Then I added the three little cotton reels which I had from That Craft Place on FB and coloured them to match my colourscheme.
The flowers and twirly stems are all from Wild Orchid Crafts
Those gorgeous scissors were in a little parcel from my blogging mummy, thanks sweetie!
The "with love" die was in a sweet little bag of extras when I bought some Distress Ink Pens from a lady on Ebay, what a lovely thing to do.
So there you have it.
Hope you can find the time to join in with our sewing challenge this time.

Venturing onto Canvas

Hello lovelies.
I hope you are all keeping safe and well in this awful weather we are having.
We have lost some of our Ridge tiles and roof tiles in that awful wind on Wednesday, just gotta wait for a roofer to fit us in for the repairs, hope the roof doesn't leak!! Eeeekkk.
Anyway, I have just popped in to show you a canvas I have done.
I keep seeing these around and I thought, it can't be that hard can it??
So off I went, bought a canvas and set to work.
I have made this to fit in with the current challenge over at the Pan Pastels blog where the challenge is Anything Goes but with the addition of using canvas or fabric to make your project with.
So here you go:
The background has been done with Pan Pastels in Lilac using a Clarity Stamp stencil.

Then I noticed the Video Tutorials link at the top of the Pan Pastels blog page so thought I'd have a quick look.  I am so glad I did as I followed a video tutorial on how to add a pattern and Pan Pastels to some flowers.
So I cut out some flowers with my Silhouette Cameo and then using an embossing pad stamped a pattern onto the petals and the leaves.  Then using my sponges I added Pan Pastels Lilac and Pale Pink to the flowers and the light green to the leaves.  Then I put three different sized flowers together and added a brad in the middle.
I love the effect this has given - only trouble is I might need some patterned stamps now! Lol
Then I added some little butterflies to the canvas which I punched out using my MS three butterfly punch.
Now this is where I took most of the pictures and when I looked at them on the screen it just looked like there was something missing so I added some liquid pearls to the middle of the butterflies.
So I am quite pleased with my first attempt at a canvas and can definitely see me doing more of these.
Thanks for stopping by and please let me know what you think.

MW Reminder - Pink & Red Valentine

Hello all
Just popping by to let you know that you still have about a week to join in with the current challenge over at Totally Tilda.
The theme this time is:
PINK & RED VALENTINE
(And remember it must feature Tilda on there somewhere!!)
***********
And we are sponsored by:
Prize will either be:
a Ribbon Kit
or
a £10 voucher for the store.
***********
So here is my Midway Reminder creation for you:
So after last week's creation I wanted to go quite simple for this one.
That gorgeous background paper is from a Papermania pack called Vintage Notes and I based all my other colours around it.
I coloured Tilda with Heart and masked her with the I "heart" You stamp.
I also brushed around the image and the wording with Spun Sugar Distress Ink.
Matted the image onto dark pink card, added a bit of lace behind the image and a bow just to finish off.
I have graded the colour on the wording (i.e. it is darker at the top than the bottom) but I'm not sure it shows up too well in the photo.  Looks ok IRL though. Lol
So there you are folks.
My Midway creation which I Hope will have given you some inspiration to enter our Pink and Red Valentine challenge.
See you next week for another fabulous challenge at Totally Tilda

Crafty Ribbons Challenge - We're Back!!

Hello my lovelies.
I do hope you are all still out there and wanting to join in with our challenges again this year.
We had a long break over Christmas, time to recharge our batteries and enjoy time with our families etc.
I hope you all had a fabulous Festive Season and your New Year is off to a good start too.
Thank you to those of you who took part in our Advent Event, I am sure all our winners are now enjoying their winnings! YAY!!
We have a few changes coming up for this year but I'll tell you about them another time.
I am sure you will like them though. **smiles**
*********
So let's get the show on the road shall we.
As this is our first challenge of the year we wanted to come back with a bang.
So all of the three teams have made creations for this challenge. So why not pop on over to the Crafty Ribbons Challenge blog and have a look at the inspiration my team mates have come up with for you.
******
So, here is what I have on offer this week.
I needed a birthday present for my Mum.  I'm a bit skint after Christmas (what with buying the odd little thing for Carter!! Lol) so I wanted to do something a bit different.
So during last year I bought this box from Cuddly Buddly
I had forgotten it was a Napkin Box (may have to add a pack of lovely napkins in there too then!)
I decided to jazz it up a bit.
So here you go:
The top:
Now on here I have used three different ribbons and a funky fibre.
All the ribbons can be found at Crafty Ribbons
I have used Wide Satin Ribbon, narrow satin ribbon and wire edged tafetta ribbon all in shades of purple.

Three of the sides are like this:
The papers are some that I have had for simply ages and I can't remember what make they are but they fitted with my colour scheme perfectly.
The three little flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. I bought them a while back now during one of their fab sales.
Then the front side of the box looks like this:
Again this is from Wild Orchid Crafts, again bought in their most recent sale.
So here is a closer look at the arrangement on the top:
The sprigs of heather, the flowers, the diddy rosebuds and the twirly stems are all from Wild Orchid Crafts
The two feathers are from a lady on FB and the three little resin roses (you can see them in the top pic) I had from Jude via FB (thanks hunni).
So folks there you have it.
My napkin box for my Mum's birthday.  I hope she likes it.
Can't wait to see what you all have on offer for us this week.
Enjoy and have fun.

Right on to the new challenge.
The theme for this fortnight's challenge is:
PINK & RED VALENTINE
That's right, you have to use pink AND red on your creation! hehehe
*****
This time we are lucky to be sponsored by:
Prize will either be:
a Ribbon Kit
or
a £10 voucher for the store.

So here is my creation for this week:
I bought the wooden heart shape from Cuddly Buddly HERE
I covered the shape with Magnolia papers.
Then I inked up the Tilda with Spring Heart and stamped her onto one of my die cuts which I bought from the lovely Susie before she closed her shop.
The image is coloured with Copics and then I brushed Spun Sugar distress ink around the image.
The little LOVE letters are made from Martha Stewart Air Dry clay and then coloured with my copics.
Then I added some lovely pink flowers, the large gardenia is from Wild Orchid Crafts and the little pink roses are from my stash.
I finished off with a lovely little pink wire edged ribbon and voila!
So I hope you like my Love Heart.
Can't wait to see what you all come up with folks.
