Colour Crazy Craft Challenge - Week 21

Hi all,
Once again I find myself needing to join in with Team Cs challenge.
I love Ching Chou Kuik's images and when I saw that she was our sponsor for this week I just knew I had to join in.
The image I have used is called:
and here is what I did with her.

The image is coloured once again with my Polychromo Pencils and I have used Pan Pastels for the background.  I really do love the soft finish of these Pastels.

The backing paper is from a pad called Romance & Roses by Lili of the Valley and Nitwits.  Sadly now no longer available which is a real shame.  The colours just matched my image perfectly so I was well pleased with that.

So there you have it my friends.
Please do pop along and join in with the challenge which, as always is Anything Goes.
But remember, because we are a colouring challenge you must have some hand colouring on your creation.  We do not accept digitally coloured images I'm afraid.

Can't wait to see your entries this week.
Have fun.

Colour Crazy Challenge - Week 18

Hi all,
Well, it's the turn of Team D this week to offer you some inspiration.
Our sponsor for this week is
and as always the theme is:
ANYTHING GOES
They really do have some fabulous images and this time I was lucky enough to work with this wonderful image called:
Oriental Girl which you can find here.
image 0
Isn't she just beautiful.  So serene.
Anyway, here is what I did with her.
I coloured the image with my Prismacolour pencils once again.
I did originally think of using reds and golds but looking at my backing papers I changed my mind when I found this paper pad.
The Paper Pad is called Petal Fresh and is from Lili of the Valley with Nitwits, sadly no longer available which is a real shame as I only have a few pages left. Boohoo.
Anyway, I decided to go with blues and yellows as you can see.
The background clouds are done using a Clarity Mask and Pan Pastels.
I can't tell you how these masks from Clarity have made life that much easier when doing backgrounds like this, such a time saver.  Really, go check them out, they are fabulous.

If you look at the first photograph you will see that I put a bordered piece of the same backing paper behind the matted and layered image.
Well, let me tell you something - honestly I don't know how I manage to get through the day sometimes.
When I layered this piece up the mirri card was supposed to be a frame around the whole piece but as you can see it is open ended.  This is because I cut the paper, added it to the mirri card, but I forgot to measure the piece first so it was too long to use as it was and I had to cut the ends off! Duh.
Light bulb moment, I didn't want to waste them so I added them to two corners to make it look as though there was a strip across the diagonal too.  Waste not, want not eh?? Lol
Anyway, there you go.
My wee bit of inspiration for you this week, hope you like it.
Can't wait to see what you all come up with this week.
Remember, we are a colouring challenge so we MUST see some hand colouring on your project.  No digital projects please.

Colour Crazy Craft Challenge - Week 17 - Tiddly Inks

Hi all,
Well, I know it is Team C's challenge week this week but I just couldn't resist using the cute little image supplied by our sponsor this week.
As always our theme is ANYTHING GOES,
BUT
remember, we must see some colouring on your creation please, after all we are a colouring challenge! Lol
Anyway, thanks to the fabulous

for sponsoring the challenge this week.
I chose to use
Bloom Beautifully Emma
Isn't she sweet?
As you can see she comes with two lovely sentiments too.
On this occasion I chose not to use the sentiments as my backing paper had a perfect sentiment on it already but I know they are there for next time I use this image.
So, on to my project:

The image is coloured with my Prismacolour pencils.  Between these and my Polychromos my markers are getting a little abandoned of late.  Maybe I will have a go with them soon!

I was going to add a bow or some flowers or some gems but do you know what? I think it looks just fine as it is.  What do you think?  Sometimes I think it is nice to just let the image take centre stage with no distractions.

So instead of just cutting square around the image I thought I would go for a bit more of a quirky shape.  I saw this shape as a sketch challenge recently and I thought I would use it here - just something a wee bit different eh?

So, there you go then, my project for Team Cs challenge.
I hope you have time to stop off and join in with our challenge this week.
