Partridge in (and out) of a pear tree!!

Hi all,
Just popping in to show you a card and tag I made for the monthly swap at That Craft Place Natter and Chatter group on FB.
The theme was the 12 days of Christmas and I knew exactly which stamps I was going to use.
Now I have to tell you that this isn't the first attempt - no sireee! The first three went in the bin!
Yikes - thought I would never get there - but inevitably I did so here it is!
I have coloured them with Distress Ink Markers and Distress Ink pads using my stencil brushes. When someone says all stencil brushes are the same - trust me they are wrong - these stencil brushes are THE best brushes I have ever used - so much so that I have two sets (and seriously thinking of making it three in the New Year!!)
Once I had done all the colouring I took my pics and then looked at them and thought, damn, that partridge looks lost in that tree - poor little thing I can hardly see him!
Ping! Light bulb moment - emboss him!!
So out with my embossing pen and my clear embossing powder and TaDa!!
Aha, THERE he is! Lol
I also added some glamour dust to the berries and the tree but it doesn't really show up on the pics. Boo!!
Aah that's better - you can see it now!
Thanks for stopping by.
I would just like to take this opportunity to wish you all, my friends and my followers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy Healthy New Year.

Ever so blue - but a happy return!

Hello lovelies
Well now isn't this a surprise?
Susie decided to change the challenge around a bit and call it Tilda and Friends and asked me if I wanted to come back to the DT.
Well I thought about it for a while (I think it was a nano-second) and I said yes.
Well it would be rude to say no now wouldn't it? hehehehe
So, now you can use any image you like to enter the challenges.  The only stipulation is that the image you use must be a rubber stamped image - NO DIGIS.
So, without further ado, let's get on shall we?
For this challenge we are sponsored by none other than:
Simon Says Stamp
and the fantastic prize on offer is:
(excluding postage)
So here is the card I made:
I decided that as they haven't been used in simply ages I would root out my Anya stamps.
I have used one of the Miss Anya Scarves set.
The image is coloured with my Spectrum Noir pencils.
The background is done with shaving foam and distress inks.
A cool trick I learnt from Barbara Gray at Clarity Stamp and I will definitely be doing more of these.
The Christmas Tree is a Clarity Stamp which you can find here as is the sentiment which is here.
The fabulous Happy Christmas ribbon is of course Exclusively from Crafty Ribbons and you can find that here.
The sweet little snowflakes are from my local craft shop.
I also added some holographic embossed snowflakes in the background but I'm not sure they show up very much. hey ho.
So there you go, my first card for the Tilda and Friends challenge.
Can't wait to see your fabulous entries.

So I was lucky enough to choose an image called
and here is what I did with her.
The image is coloured with my Promarkers for a change apart from the skin and then I used my Copics - and I am really pleased with how she turned out.

The Papers I have used are from the Snow Princess pads from Nitwits at LOTV. I just love the quality of these papers.
The ribbon is a seam binding from Crafty Ribbons and the lace and twine are from my stash.
The little Happy Birthday envelope is from an Ooh La La CD.
I hope you like my card, and I can't wait to see what you all come up with.

Advent Calendar with Advent Ribbon

Hello lovelies,
Well it is the turn of the Buttons Team to host the challenge this week.
And this week the theme is
A CHRISTMAS CREATION WITH RIBBON
So long as your creation fulfils the challenge you can make whatever you like, cards, layouts, altered items, take your pick and have fun.
So here is my offering for this week:
So I used a Greyboard Advent Calendar christmas tree from That Craft Place on FB.
I painted it with Gesso first and then used Cosmic Shimmer Matt Chalk paint in pale green to paint all the little draws, and the cone at the top.
The body of the tree is painted in Burgundy Cosmic Shimmer Chalk Paint.
Then I sprayed everything with Crafter's Companion Spray and Sparkle in Gold.
Next I cut up the exclusive Christmas Advent Ribbon from Crafty Ribbons and glued them to each individual little draw.
I added some holly leaves, cones and berries on the top piece and then added a star at the top.
The star was made by cutting 4 stars and gluing them so that it was 3D.
I am not happy with the star so will probably take that off and redo it but I wanted to show you how easy it was to use the gorgeous Advent Ribbon.

I am looking forward to seeing your lovely creations.

and of the image too:
Think I went a bit overboard with the trees and don't like the look of that cliff either!!! Lol

A seasonal card

Hello lovelies.
Just popping in to show you my most recent make.
I made this card with the Clarity Challenge in mind which is:
Now I love Autumn - the colours are just so gorgeous so that is where I took my inspiration from.
So here is the card I made:
First off I taped the Leaf 1 stencil to the middle of my Clarity Gelli card and then stamped the Leaf set 1 spray in the aperture and then coloured it in with my Distress Markers.

Then I stamped the detailed Leaf from the same set in Forest Moss around the edge of the card and made some little masks so I could fill in the gaps between each leaf.

Then using the block leaf stamp I filled in the detailed leaf with Mustard Seed, Wild Honey and Ripe Persimmon to get the autumnal colours.  Took me a while but so worth the effort.

Then I brushed Wild Honey in the middle with the little leaf "inny" bit over the spray.  Then I used the little round blending tool and went around the leaf stencil to give it some definition.

Then I used Peeled Paint from my Clarity Stamp blending mat all around the edges over the top of the leaves and out into the centre a little way.

Lastly I used the word Change from Word Chain 7 and stamped it in Wild Honey in the bottom corner.  Now I tried to do a shadow on the word but I was a bit far out so I filled in the gaps with a Distress marker and I think it is ok.........just!!
Now I have to say I would never had the confidence to have a go at something this involved unless I had been to the marvellous Clarity Workshops run by the fabulous Maria Simms in Shrewsbury.
So a big thank you to Maria for building my confidence.
So, there you have it, my entry for the current Clarity challenge.
See's ya later!

The sparkle doesn't really show up all that well on the piccy but they look lovely IRL.
The stars on the background are done through a Stencil from Splodgeaway using a gold ink pad.
So there you have it my friends, stars and snowflakes.

Delicious Doodles at TTPH

Hello lovelies.
Time for a new challenge at Through The Purple Haze.
Now I know I am on Team B but we have a couple of absentees for Team A this week so I said I would join in.
Our sponsor this week is the lovely Teri from Delicious Doodles.
It is so sad to hear that Teri will be closing her Doodle Doors in January 2015 due to changes in the VAT laws.  Greedy Government!!
Wishing you all the luck in the world Teri and hope to see you back some day.
The prize will be four images from Teri's store.
So I had a gorgeous image called Blossom to work with and here is what I made:
She is coloured with Copic markers and the Happy Birthday stamp is from Clarity Stamp.
The flowers and stamens are from Wild Orchid Crafts
I am particularly happy with her hair and that gorgeous butterfly.
The gem branch is from my stash

The gorgeous large purple butterfly is from Karla's Kreative Korner on Etsy. A really gorgeous shop with far far far too many lovely things to buy!!
Hope you get time to join in and be in with a chance of winning some of the last digital stamps from Delicious Doodles.
