Ching Chou Kuik - Facebook Challenge - Week 4

Hello again
Just wanted to say a huge big thank you for all your gorgeous entries into the last challenge over at Ching Chou Kuik's Facebook group.
As you know the challenge was:
FALL COLOURS
So I just thought I would pop in and show you this little card I made using the fabulous
image 0
I just love this image.  We love watching the squirrels when we go to Center Parcs on holiday, well we used to, can't afford it now!! Lol
So here is the card I made:

I decided to follow the challenge theme and use Fall Colours because I just thought this image was crying out for them.

I went back to my Polychromo Pencils for this image.
Purely because I think I colour animals better in pencil than I do in Markers.

The backing papers are from a Lili of the Valley with NitWits called Country Lady and again the colours are just so perfect.  Lovely autumnal colours with that soft antique look to them.

I was wandering around the Range the other day when I spotted these leaves and I just had to buy them because well, they are fall colours.

The little butterflies are from a Martha Stewart punch and I punched them out of the same backing paper I used to back the image on to.
The sentiment stamp, stamped in brown ink, is from Claritystamp and you can find it here.

So there you have it.
Remember to look out for the new challenge coming very soon.
It is an exciting time for the Teams too - and we are involving you in our celebrations so don't forget to come and join in.

See you again next week for the new challenge.

Colour Crazy Challenge - Fred She Said

Hi everyone.
Time once again for Team D to offer a little inspiration for our challenge.
We are lucky to be sponsored this time by the wonderful,
I got to use this fabulous "Apple For Teacher"
I thought it was a fabulous image to use for a little gift for one of the teachers of my grandchildren.  Mind you, I'm not sure their Mum will agree! Lol
Anyway, I went ahead and made something anyway.
I didn't want to make just a card this time so.........

I made a cute wall hanging picture.
Coloured with my Copics.

The backing paper is from Claritystamp and the quality let me tell you is second to none.  The sheets are double sided and you get four of each design.  Trouble is they are so nice, I need one pad to use and one pad to just look at! Lol

I added a red Thank You ribbon which you can find at Crafty Ribbons here. (It seems they only do it in white, grey or cream now though.)

So, remember we are a colouring challenge and we expect to see some hand colouring on your project.  Unfortunately, we do not accept digitally coloured, or paper pieced images.

Can't wait to see what you come up with folks.

Ching Chou Kuik - Facebook Challenge - Week 3 Inspiration

Hello again
Here I am with another inspiration card for the current Facebook (and blog) challenge this month.
The theme this month is Fall Colours, so think of all those beautiful autumnal colours that appear around September/October and make those the focal colours on your project.

So, for week 3 the Design Team were tasked with "Thinking Pink" in recognition of Breast Cancer.  Remember to check your two best friends ladies, they are precious as is life and you can never be too careful.
Now, I have to be honest here, I really don't like using Pink at all!!
It just never seems to work for me.
Doesn't look right! Do you know what I mean?
Anyhoo, I pulled up my big girl pants and out came all my pink markers.
Tried them all until I was (reasonably) happy with my choices and off I went.
For this project I have used the beautiful
I mean, she is simply stunning isn't she??
Just look at those soulful eyes.
So here is the card I made.
(Remember I don't like pink, so be nice) 😊😊

There are four different pinks on her dress and although I don't like using pink, I am pretty happy with how this turned out.
She is coloured using my Copic Markers.
I thought I would add a frame around this image so to do this I used my Picot Edge Dies from Claritystamp

The background paper is from Lili of The Valley and Nitwits from a pad called Country Meadow.  Sadly I don't think it is available any more.  Shame, because they are such lovely quality paper pads.  Hey ho.

The sentiment stamp is from one of the Word Chains sets at Claritystamp.
So, I do hope you will find the time to enter the Facebook challenge and/or the blog challenge.  Remember they both have the same theme so you can enter into both.

Well, I will see you again next week with my last card for this month.

Christmas Gift Bag in a hurry.

Hi all,
So I have made a start on Christmas with this cute little gift bag and tag.
As you know the theme at Digi Choosday is always Anything Goes.  However, the Design Team always get some little extra challenges to incorporate into their projects.  I love this idea, challenges me to go a little bit out of my comfort zone.
The main image is called Winnie Angel - Delivering Candy.
I absolutely love this image - she is just so sweet and the perfect image to use on something like this.  I normally like to colour my own images but these pre-coloured images are just the easiest way to produce something fabulous in a hurry.
We were asked to use a 2inch wide ribbon, string and 3 buttons on our projects.

Because I didn't have a ribbon 2 inches wide I have made a double bow instead so it looks huge! Lol.
The string has been used to attach my gift tag to the bag.  The tag itself is taken from the Winnie Winterland - Tags and Frames digital download.  There are some fabulous bits and pieces in this pack let me tell you.
Behind that sweet image there is a holly wreath which is taken from the Winnie Winterland - Embellies digital download and I think it gives the perfect background for this little bag don't you?
Those candy canes are also taken from the same Embellies digital download pack and I cut them out to give a little bit of depth and then (rather cleverly I thought) added my 3 buttons as the holly berries.
I finished off the bag with some flowers from my stash.  Next time I make something like this I think I will have to look at the flowers a little closer.  Who knew there were so many different shades of white?  I think they spoil the overall look of the bag, what do you think?
So, I have made the bag but now I just have to decide what to put in it and who to give it to, Lol.
Who would you give a bag like this to?  I mean, my daughter would think I had flipped if I gave it to her and my granddaughter would only be interested in the contents - then again she is only2! Hahahaha.
I can't wait to see what you all come up with this time.
Please let me know what you think of my little gift bag, especially your thoughts on the flowers?
See you all soon

Ching Chou Kuik - Facebook Challenge - Week 2

Hello again
Well, here I am back again with a little bit more inspiration for you.
You will remember that the challenge this month on both the Facebook and Blog Challenge is:
FALL COLOURS

The Design Team were given a different brief this week and that was to use Butterflies/Insects.
Well, as soon as I saw that I knew exactly which image I was going to use.
The image I chose was:
image 1
Isn't is just a gorgeous image?

So here is the card I made:

I chose to colour this time with my Copic Markers.
I am trying to build up my confidence with markers as I am usually a pencil colourer.
I am quite happy with how this turned out and I hope you like it too.

I cut out the image with a Claritystamp Oval Picot Edge die and then cut a piece of contrasting card with the largest die in the set.  You can find them here.  They cut beautifully and for the money I think they are excellent.

I then layered those two on to a piece of backing paper which came from a set of free Marianne Design papers.  They were free with a copy of Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine ages ago but the colour of this particular sheet was just perfect for my image.

I then added some flowers from my stash which matched both my colour scheme and coincidentally the backing paper.

So there you have it.
I do hope you will find the time to enter the challenge over on the Facebook page.  While you are at it why not enter the blog challenge too?

See you again very soon.

Ching Chou Kuik - Facebook Challenge - Fall Colours

Hello everyone.
I hope you are enjoying seeing my CCK inspiration posts as much as I am enjoying colouring them.  There is definitely something to be said about the effects of colouring on your mind and your mood.  I can lose myself when I am colouring.  No music, no TV just me, my image and my pencils/markers.
Anyhoo, I digress.  Let's get on with the new month's inspiration posts shall we?
So this month the challenge over on the Facebook Group - in fact it is the same subject over on the challenge blog too, is:
FALL COLOURS
(So, browns, oranges, reds, greens - all those glorious Autumnal colours)

For my first week's inspiration I chose to use:
NIGHT SHADOW
I just love this image and I hope I have done it justice.

Coloured with my Polychromo pencils I used techniques and ideas I learnt over at the Kit and Clowder group on Facebook.  Ching Chou Kuik is one of the sponsors over at Kit and Clowder so why not pop over and have a look at the sorts of classes on offer.  I can tell you they are jam packed full of advice on just about everything you will ever need to know about colouring, from lightsource, colour charts, papers to pencils and markers.  Access to the classes is for life once you have paid and Alyce gives one on one advice and assistance too.  Well worth having a peek at IMO.

Anyway, back to my project.
The background was going to be done in Pan Pastels but I decided to stick with my pencils for this one.  Only downside is I now need a new mustard yellow pencil. Lol
The little border die cut was one I cut ages ago and never used and just fitted this project perfectly.

The flowers are from my stash but I thought the colours were just perfect to use on this project. The backing paper is from a Designer Paper Pad by Claritystamp.

So there you go then.  I can't wait to see all your gorgeous entries for this challenge.

Digi Choosday - Big Birthday Celebrations

Hello everyone
Gosh it has been a bit of a mini heatwave just recently hasn't it?
I love the sun but I don't like this oppressive heat, do you?
Anyhoo, I digress.
Time once again for another challenge over at Digi Choosday.
As always our challenges are:
ANYTHING GOES

The design team always get a little bit of an extra challenge and this time we were to make something for a big celebration.
I chose to go with a 21st Birthday - I think that's pretty big isn't it? Lol
So I decided to make a Gift box/card all in one.
Ruby birthday cake - black/white digi stamp download
I used Ruby Birthday Cake because well she just fits my brief perfectly.
So here is what I made:
I made the little box using my Silhouette Cameo.
The image is coloured using my Polychromo pencils and I tried to compliment the colours on the papers when I did her dress etc.

The papers I used to decorate the whole of the box (which I also cut on the Cameo just to make sure they fitted!!) are from the Winnie Starfish/Sandcastles Papers 5.

All those fabulous little sentiments (except the 21 Today) were from the Winnie Celebrations Kit 1 Sentiments.  Honestly there are soooo many sentiments in that kit, there really are.

So there you have it.  Obviously I have added a little gift to the box just to show it is a draw, which I also lined with the same papers so it all matched, but I would put a proper piece of jewelry in there to give as an actual gift.

So what are you going to make to join in with our Anything Goes challenge then? Can't wait to see.  Have fun.

(I love to add computer generated or digital text as it can be sized as big or small as you like and will fit your project perfectly.)
