So here is my project for this challenge:
I have used another of those fabulous images from Saturated Canary and this one is called Gypsy Dancer.

She is coloured with a mix of flexmarkers and copics and I really wish I hadn't used that turquoise - I think it stands out too much.  Hey ho ya live and learn!!
The gorgeous ribbon is from, of course, Crafty Ribbons.
The papers I have used are from the Petal Fresh paper pad from Lili of the Valley by Nitwits and this has been matted onto Kraft card.
The flowers are from Wild Orchid and the sentiment is a die cut one I have had in my stash for ages.  I sponged the background with TH Distress Ink to match my colour scheme.

So there you have it folks.

Ice Cream and Pickles???

Hi all,
Well, so much for the hottest day of the year eh???  I wonder what qualifications you need to forecast the weather??  Not many it would seem!! LOL
Anyway, on to my post.
You will remember that I posted a card here a few days ago as a commission card for my daughter.  One of her colleagues is leaving to have a baby and so she asked me to make her a card.
Well, I made it and put it into the challenge at Bronte and Bella's Challenge - and guess what???  It only won!!  Woohooo!
Anyway, when I looked at it again I thought that perhaps it was a bit too "old" for a twenty something female so I went in search of other digital images that would fit the bill.
Lo and behold I found one - quite by chance whilst browsing through some blogs.
This is it:
Ice Cream and Pickles
It is called Ice Cream and Pickles and is of course from the fabulous Krista Smith at Saturated Canary.  Isn't it just perfect??
So, I set to and here is what I came up with:
The image is coloured with a mix of flexmarkers and copics and is cut out using my nestabilities. (I followed the skin and hair colouring tutorial on Debbie's blog to colour this image and I am really pleased with how it worked out so thanks Debbie).  I chalked the background with pale blue chalk to fit in with the DP's I had chosen.
Now normally I fit my papers around the image but this time I did it the opposite way around.
You remember I told you about those fabulous new Nitwits papers exclusive to Lili of the Valley??
Well, these are from another of those pads and this one is called Petal Fresh.  Aren't they just gorgeous?
The buttons are all from Crafty Ribbons as is the beautiful pale blue ribbon across the middle and the bow.
**************
I followed the current sketch at Willow Sketchie but of course, because I'm a bit of a numpty I didn't read the challenge properly and you have to use Kraft card so I can't enter it there.  Hey ho - teach me to read things properly eh??? LOL

I think this one is much better suited to a Twenty something girl don't you??

Midway Reminder - Totally Tilda #53

Hello peeps,
Well I just popped in to remind you that you have about a week left to submit your entries for our latest challenge at Totally Tilda.
Don't forget the challenge this time is:
USE KRAFT CARD
********************
Remember our sponsor for this challenge is:

and the fabulous prize that Nikki is offering is:
******************
Now, before I show you my card for the midway reminder just let me tell you a little story.
It is a story of why you should never give up!!
This card started out as something completely different.
Well firstly I punched my background Kraft Card using my Martha Stewart PATP and stuck it to my base card.  Then I coloured my image and die cut it out using my nestabilities and die cut a larger frame for the background.  Then I put it to one side to finish off a commission card.
Well, this is when I discovered that my craft room rains in through the window!!!!!!!!
My craft room, for those of you who don't know is outside and one that my husband converted from our Shed. (He did a proper job mind - lined all the walls and everything, electrics the lot!!)
So when I came to complete the card, disaster!!!!!
The rain had got to the card which was on my desk.
The paper had got wet and the rain had made splashes over the red base die cut and this had splashed over the image die cut (though fortunately not on the image itself!!)
So, I thought, I've got to rescue this so decided to add some poinsettias where the splashes were!
Great idea!!  However, I decided to spray the flowers with my Spray and Sparkle which was great until I dropped the flowers onto my card!  Damn glitter everywhere!!
I decided to carry on and add the flowers cos the glitter brushed off once dry, then dropped the silicone side of the flower onto my image.  Then I had to wait for the silicone to dry so that I could rub it off the image!
The damn card looked crap - so I pulled all the elements off and started again with the base PATP Kraft card as my base and eventually out of disaster came this:
I think I have just about saved this from the big round card graveyard called THE BIN!!
That gorgeous red DP is from a new collection of Nitwit papers from Lili of the Valley.  There are 6 new pads to choose from and I was so naughty - I bought all six!!
Tilda is coloured with my Polychromo pencils and I have added stickles to her hat and muff.
The flowers are from Wild Orchid and the pearls are all from my stash, as are the two Christmas Trees which I sprayed with Gold Spray n Sparkle.  The little bit of fencing is from my blogging buddy Liz (thanks hun)
The tag is the Magnolia Bloomy Tag available at Sir Stampalot.  I have gone around the edges with my embossing pen and stamped a sentiment in embossing ink on the tag then embossed it with fine detail gold embossing powder.
The sentiment ribbon is, of course, from Crafty Ribbons and that shiny red bauble is one I have had in my stash for simply ages.
So there you have it folks - out of disaster came a pretty reasonable card.  I am so glad I didn't bin it and give up on it.

So here is my project for this challenge:

I have used one of the gorgeous Pip images from Sugar Nellie.  This one is called Cherry Pip.  I just adore these images don't you?
The image is coloured with my Polychromo pencils and is stamped onto one of Susie's fabulous die cuts. (It was pink but I used a red stamp pad to change the colour!)
Here is a close up of the image.
That green striped backing paper is from Stamping All Day.  The die cut sentiment is one I had in my stash and the stripey ribbon is, of course from Crafty Ribbons.
Last but not least just look at that fabulous Cherry Ribbon which is also from Crafty Ribbons.
Isn't it lush??
So this challenge will run from today until 29th August so plenty of time to join in.

Show us you're Krafty at Totally Tilda

Hello bloggy friends.
I hope this Sunday finds you well and happy?
Well, as it is Sunday that means there is another new challenge over at the Totally Tilda challenge blog.
Firstly though, I would just like to say thank you for all your wonderful entries on the last challenge.
It always makes it hard to choose a winner/top 3 but that's part of the fun!
So what are we going to tempt you with this time??
Well the new challenge is:
USE KRAFT CARD
I know there are alot of varieties of Kraft Card but please make sure your card is Kraft, not dark cream or similar to make it fair to everyone.
Thanks.

So here is the card I made for the new challenge:
So I used a Papermania stepper card in Kraft and added a piece of cream card to the large step at the back.
Tilda is stamped directly onto Kraft card (again from Papermania - a 12x12 pack this time)
I coloured the image with my Prisma pencils and I'm quite pleased with how the colouring turned out, I've never coloured on Kraft before.  The image is cut out with the Scalloped square nestability die.
I added some tickets that came from a paper pad but I'm not sure what it's called 'cos I had these cut out for some time and just decided to use them on this card.
The gorgeous larger flowers are from my blogging mummy (thanks darling).
Last but not least, I added a glorious gold ribbon onto the front "step" of the card.
Now where do you suppose that stunning ribbon came from????
Yes, you guessed it, it was from Crafty Ribbons.

Don't forget, you still have just over a week to enter the Totally Tilda DT call.
We have already had some stunning entries and I am looking forward to seeing alot more.
So why not hop over and have a look at the requirements.
There is a gorgeous Inspirational picture for you to work from with such beautiful colours.
Go on, give it a go..... you know you want to!!!  LOL

CRAFTS AND ME

Hello everyone,

We are a small family Craft business that came about when as a card making family, my daughters and young granddaughters and I that is! Not our men who do not make cards, although my husband has had a go....Could never find the stamps and crafts that we had seen advertised!

So, in the end we decided to start up Crafts and Me, so that we could get the products we wanted not only for us, but to offer to other crafters like you.

We love the different ranges of stamps and crafts that we get from all over the world and we hope you will love them too....

Our aim is to give you the best possible customer service that we can, and to treat our customers just as we would want to be treated ourselves.

So, enjoy looking at our shop and if you cannot find a product you would like, or if you have any suggestions about our shop we would love to hear from you, just email us at info@craftsandme.co.uk as we are always looking for ways to improve our site.

So here is the card I have made for today:
I have used an image which is available at Crafts and Me and coloured it with my copics.
I then adhered it to darker purple C'oredinations card and added another piece of the same card behind the image.
Then I coloured three white ribbon bows with my flexmarkers and stuck them to the DP which was from a magazine freebie.
Then I added two mesh butterflies (courtesy of my bestest buddie Ali- thanks sweetie!!)
And the ribbon and bow across the bottom is, of course from Crafty Ribbons.
Please do find the time to stop by the Crafty Ribbons Pure Inspiration blog and join in the fun.
And remember to come back tomorrow and see the final day of our Crafting for Gold Event on the Crafty Ribbons Pure Inspiration blog.
Remember you have until the end of the event on Sunday to sign up for the Linkys on each day's post to be in with a chance of winning the fabulous prize on offer for each separate day.
