Softpencil Thursday - Molly in Spring

Hello all,
Time once again for Softpencil Thursday.  We have worked this week with Molly in Spring which is available from Elizabeth's store - well worth a visit!!

I have coloured my image using my promarkers and watercolour pencils and the papers I have used are from a recently purchased Paper Cellar pad called Celebrations.
I have based my card on the new sketch at Papertake Weekly by Dawny P which I have shown below - I love Dawny's sketches and often use past sketches for DT work - so thanks Dawny!
The mesh flowers at the top were purchased from Craftee and the flower at the bottom was part of a candy win.  I have used my promarkers to add similar colours to a white flower to match the rest of the card.  The bow is from a candy win at Crafty Ribbons which I made using my Bow Easy.

I'll be back again on August 12th with my next Softpencil Thursday post as Elizabeth is on vacation and so the DT are only posting twice in August so see you then.

Challenge #39 at Creative Inspirations - Anything Goes!!

Hi all,
Wow how many fabulous entries were there for the last challenge!!!  Thank you so much to everyone who takes the time to join in with our challenges - it really makes the hard work of the DT worthwhile.  So without further ado onto the next challenge.
This time we are sponsored by Whimsy Stamps and they are offering our lucky prize winner a $15 voucher to spend at their store, how cool is that?
So the DT got to work with some of Whimsy's digi images for this challenge and here is the card I made using "Trimming the Tree"
I coloured my image using my watercolour pencils, promarkers and sakura gelly glaze pens.
I added some flat backed pearls to the tree as ornaments and used my glue pen and gold glitter for the tinsel, I used Gold stickles for the star.
I made a double bow using my Bow Easy and added a Christmas Tree charm which I thought looked alot like the tree on the image.
I finished off with a stick on sentiment that I've had for ages (hope it doesn't fall off LOL)
Ishall enter this card into the Just Cute Bears Challenge - Bear Necessities - I think it is clean and simple and unfussy - hope they do to.

Challenge #59 at Ooh La La Creations - Birthday

Sorry everyone, I scheduled this post and naughty blogger didn't publish it - boohoooo!!  Never mind, better late than never.
Time once again for another challenge at Ooh La La Creations and this time the theme is "Birthday".  Now this is such a broad subject area I am expecting to see some fabulous entries and lots of them!
So without further ado here is the card I made for this challenge:
I was asked to make a birthday card for a girl I work with as it was her mother's 70th birthday.  The lady in question likes white roses so I chose all my elements from the Shoes in Bloom CD and used the Ballet shoes with white roses folder.  The only other stipulation was that it should have "To Mom from Both of Us" on the front of the card.
There is an inspiration folder on the CD and this card was adapted from one I saw on there.  I love waterfall cards and I am so pleased with how this particular one turned out.
My friend loved it and she says her Mom loved it to.
Other challenges I shall enter this into are:
The Crazy Challenge, Craftalicious - Birthdays
Creatalicious - want some 3D (hope this counts)

Every Magical cloud has a crafty silver lining!!!

Hello friends,
Well, that title is true isn't it - every time we hear some sad news there is always some good news to outshine the bad - and this is no exception!!
Angel who started the Magical Crafts Fortnightly Challenge has decided to close the challenge blog and follow her heart in another direction so sadly this means the demise of Magical Crafts ....... :(
Fortunately, the silver lining that is Joanne and the rest of the DT have decided to start a new challenge blog called "Craft Your Days Away" and their first challenge will go live on 7th August.
Now obviously a new challenge blog means blog candy and this one is no exception - there are three prizes up for grabs and they are as follows:
Prize 1
Prize 2
Prize 3
So, this candy will be open until 6th August at 16:00 hours (UK time) and the winners will be announced on 7th August along with the first challenge.
So what you waiting for - are you missing Magical Crafts Fortnightly Challenge??????? Then hop on over to "Craft Your Days Away", sign up to be a follower and follow the rules to be in with a chance of winning this fabulous candy!!  Good luck.

Cute Skirt Tilda and she's all Pink and Girly!!

Just a quick card to show you all that I have made for the DT call at Die Cut Dreams.  The fabulous Susie Sugar has decided to expand her Dream Team and I thought I'd give it a go.
So I used Cute Skirt Tilda and coloured her in using promarkers and watercolour pencils.  I sat her on the edge of the die cut because I think this idea is fab - one I've seen many times so thought I'd try it too.
I added some pink pearls which I won at Crafty Ribbons and added three shocking pink pearls at either side of Tilda.  I added two small roses at the top of the die cut and stamped a pink butterfly on the die cut too.
I made a double bow using my bow easy which I added to the top left of the card.  The DP are from the Papermania Henbury Lane range which I adore and the white lace is from Craftee
I added three pink baby's breath flowers, also from Craftee ......
.....and then stamped a Happy Birthday sentiment which I have had for a while - purchased from Clarity Stamp.  For a final touch I added three large pink flower gems at the top right.

I think you will agree this is very Pink and Girly which was the theme for cards submitted for the DT call.  Fingers crossed.

Birthday card for a friend and a few challenges to boot!

Hi Everyone,
Just a quick post to show you the card I made for my friend at work who is due to celebrate her 40th birthday.  Now I won't say she likes a drink - I'll let you decide when you see the card, and here it is:
I have used a Bugaboo image because they just crack me up and this one is called Tequila Stella.  I think it is brilliant for those folk who like to let their hair down (well alright I mean get totally smashed at a party!!!LOL).
I coloured the image with my promakers and then cut it out and adhered it to one of Susie's fabulous die cuts (available at Die Cut Dreams - you really should pay a visit - loads to choose from and great prices)
I added some crystal stickles for the bubbles on the glass of champagne.  I used two large flowers (from a candy win ages ago) secured together with a brad and then adhered to the card with silicone and then stuck the sentiment over the corner of the die cut.  I added three little purple gems on to the die cut.
I made this into an easel card to fit the challenge at Crafty Cardmakers Spotlight Challenge and it will also fit the challenge at YNS which again is easel cards.
I printed off a sentiment on the computer in matching colours to the Tequila sentiment and added this to the bottom part of the easel card on top of some Papermania Henbury Lane DP.  I added a piece of black lace across the middle as the "stopper" for my easel card and added little purple tear drop gems to the lace.  Finished it off with some roses at the top right hand corner above the image and added a little flower gem on to the birthday sentiment and voila!!
I will also enter this card into the challenges at:
Alphabet Challenge - L for lace
Crafty Creations - happy or sweet (happy birthday)
Craftalicious - Birthdays
Digital Tuesday - Birthdays
Stamp Something - something digital

It's Softpencil Thursday - Thinking of You

Well, it's Thursday and you all know what that means don't you???? That's right it's time for another Softpencil Thursday.  This week we are using another one of Elizabeth's digital sentiments, don't you just love the way the image is already with the sentiment - so easy to use!  These sentiments are done in three languages, Dutch, Spanish and English - why not pop over to the Softpencil blog and click on the "store" tab at the top of the page and have a look at an amazing array of Elizabeth's fabulous images, sentiments and digi papers together with designs done by her multi-talented sister.
So without further ado, here is the card I made using the "Thinking of You" digital sentiment (in English):
Because there is a large expanse of background to colour I decided to colour this image in digitally in my paint shop programme and then I went over the hair and the grass with promarkers.
I decided I wanted the sentiment to be the prominent thing on my card and because they are so wonderful I just used one piece of DP as a background, and used a piece of wide lemon ribbon across the middle and tied it in a bow.  I added a yellow rose on the middle of the bow and secured it with a pearl nob pin.
Please pay a visit to the rest of the Softpencil team and see what fabulous inspiration they have to offer you, I know you won't be disappointed.
I will also enter this card into the following challenges:
Papertake Weekly - Cutie Patootie
Stamp Something - Something Digital

Challenge #7 at Aud Sentiments

Wow, I can honestly say I (and the rest of the DT) were totally overwhelmed by the number of entries into our last challenge - we actually broke through the 100 barrier!!!!  A huge big thank you to all of you who are supporting our challenge blog - I hope you are enjoying it as much as the rest of the DT!!  Remember to hop over to the challenge blog and see if you are either the lucky winner of the prize on offer by Spesch Stamps or one of the top three as picked by the Design Team!
You may notice a bit of a change at the challenge blog - our Aud has been very busy giving us a new image and a new badge to go with it - so please nab the new badge from the side bar at the challenge blog to add to yours.
So onto the next challenge and for this challenge we want you to choose your own Christmas Sentiment.  That can be something as simple as Season's Greetings like mine or something you made up yourself or something that fits your image - whatever you decide to use - so long as it is Christmas based - that's fine.
For this challenge we are lucky to have the fabulous Digi Doodle Shop's Best as our sponsor.  The prize on offer is a £10 voucher to spend in their shop.
The Design Team were lucky enough to be able to choose one of the fabulous images to work with and I chose Santa's Arrival - available at the fabulous price of $1.70 (reduced from $2.50) at the Digi Doodle shop.

So onto my card:
Now, I have to let you all in to a little secret here - I had a NIGHTMARE making this card.  I printed out the image and coloured it all in, then I picked up one of my promarkers (one I hadn't used before) took off the top and OMG! no colour on the nib.  So I gave it a shake to bring the ink to the nib - no luck!!  Oh blow, I'll just give it another go I thought - so there I am shaking this blasted pen and I suddenly thought, I can feel splashes on my arm.  HORROR!!!!  Little spots of green ink everywhere, all over my newly printed images, all over my face and arms, all over the wall, my camera, my desk - I mean everywhere - I had well and truly brought the ink to the nib alright - loads of it!! LOL - I can laugh about it now but I was mortified when I looked at my images.  Fortunately there weren't many splashes on this one so I decided to go with it and use it anyway!  I think I just about got away with it - what do you think??
Anyhoo, I used some Tapestry stamps to stamp a background on the white card and then stuck the cut out image onto it.
I used some Christmas sparkly DP that my very good friend Clare sent me last Christmas and then added some stick on embellishments, including my sentiment to finish it off.
Please remember to visit the rest of the DT (links in the sidebar) and see what wonderful creations they have on offer for you to give you some inspiration, I know you won't be disappointed.
I am also entering this card into the following challenges:
Stamp Something - Something digital
Artful Inkables - background technique (my tapestry stamps background)

Santa's visiting early and he's on a die cut not a sleigh!!

The current challenge over at Die Cut Dreams Christmas Challenge blog is to use Santa on your card so here is the card I made for this challenge:
The card is based on the current sketch at Sketch and Stash which I have shown below:
This stamp is one I bought from Clarity Stamp ages and ages ago and is very sadly neglected I am sorry to say.  So out it came stamped in Black Stazon on to a white die cut from Die Cut Dreams.  The green die cut is a bit of a cheat really.  Sorry Susie, but I didn't have any green ones and no time to order any, so I used one of your fabulous Die Cuts and drew round it onto some green sparkly card and cut it out (don't look too closely and you won't be able to tell it was cut by hand!!!).  I coloured the hat with red stickles, used white liquid pearls for his fur and white glitter for his beard.  Then I stamped a border with some tapestry stamps.
I added a green ribbon across the middle of the card and secured this through the back of the DP before sticking it to the card blank.  I used two small pieces of cream lace across opposite corners and I added a red heart brad and a christmas wreath charm with jump rings hanging from the ribbon.
I am quite pleased with how this turned out and I will also enter this card into the following challenges:
Alphabet Challenge - L is for Lace
Artful Inkables - Background technique
Die Cut Dreams Christmas Challenge - Santa
Sketch and Stash - Sketch #40
Pixie Dust Challenge - Forest Green and Cranberry
Creative Cottage - Touchy Feely (stickles, liquid pearls and glitter)
