Some good news and a "Rebirth"!

Hello lovelies
Well last week I posted what I thought would be my last card for Through The Purple Haze challenges and I was sad!
However, Fiona has decided to take over the running of the challenge blog and..................
WE ARE STAYING OPEN!!
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So essentially it is the same challenge blog with the same DT but there will be a change in that we will now be a monthly challenge with each new challenge going live on the 1st of the month.
So that gives you loads of time to get your creations in rather than having to rush and submit within a week! Wooohooo!
I hope you are all as pleased as I and the rest of the DT are?
So, without further ado let's get on with the next challenge shall we?
So we are starting in March but this will run until the end of April and then the first of each month thereafter.  We are hoping that the majority of our sponsors will stay with us and for that we are extremely grateful.
So this month and a bit long challenge is sponsored by:
Eiglassing

I have used Bowl of Daffodils for my card this time and here is what I made:
The base card I have brushed with Distress Inks in three colours, Shabby Shutters, Wild Honey and Squeezed Lemonade.  I have used the same three colours in the three little frames at the top of the card.
The image is coloured with my Copics and matted and layered on two contrasting pieces of card.
Not altogether happy with the colouring but hey ho, such is life eh?
Then at the top of the card I made three little windows in a piece of paper and brushed the same three DI colours into them and then stamped an image in each using the Wee Folk Fairy stamps from Clarity, love these stamps.
I added a piece of thread (hand drawn really) to make it look like a picture hanging on a wall and added a teeny bow at the top.
Bit of a rush card - my own fault but at least I got it done! Lol
I hope you will keep coming back to join in our new Monthly challenges and look forward to your entries in this new challenge.
Thanks for stopping by:

New Baby!

Hi all
Well, those of you who know me through Facebook may have seen my fabulous news.
My darling daughter and her partner have just had their second child, a new little baby boy - a little brother for Carter.
Well, when I say little baby boy - he was actually 9lb 13oz so not quite so little eh?
Anyhow, I made a card for the happy occasion and just thought I would share it with you all.
So here goes:
This is the complete thing closed up.  I used a More than words template to cut the letters out of white card and then the same letters out of Designer paper.
The gorgeous ribbon across the B and the one I used to tie it altogether are from Crafty Ribbons here and here. (The It's a Boy ribbon is only available in a pack of baby ribbons now).
Front

Reverse
The first B was cut from Magnolia papers, they are so gorgeous to work with.
All the hearts, animals and embellies are from a Nitwits collection called stuffed love.
I just put them all in my Craft Artist and changed the colour of all the bits I wanted to use to the same blue.
Front

Reverse
The Baby Boy wording is from one of the Clarity Wordchains which you can find here.
Again the papers are from Magnolia
Front

Reverse
I typed on the Born on and Weight before I printed the tag off and then wrote in the weight and date as you can probably tell! Lol.
The papers on this page and the Y page are from the Nitwits collection at Lili of the Valley.
The pad I have used here is called Bear Necessities.

That scan picture is the one of Leighton at 20 weeks.
The cute little bear buttons have been in my drawer for simply ages.
I obviously had some plans to do some knitting at some stage!! Lol
So there you go, sorry it was a bit picture heavy.
Hope you liked it.
So the challenges I would like to enter it into are:
(there are one or two on here! Lol)

There's an East Wind Blowing!

Hello crafty friends
Well today it's time for another post for Through The Purple Haze.
A bit of a sad day for me as this will be my last post for the lovely ladies at TTPH.
Due to many reasons, most of all health related reasons, Anita has decided to close the blog at the end of the month.  So next week's challenge will be our last ever challenge.
I have not been with the girls for very long but I can honestly say it has been an honour and a privilege to be a part of such a lovely bunch of crafters who still work hard each week to bring you lovely projects for your inspiration despite their own health problems.
Most of us are on Facebook so fortunately we will all be able to keep in touch with each other.
Anyhoo, on to the challenge for this week.
This week's challenge is:
ANYTHING GOES
Our lovely sponsor is:
I have used the gorgeous image called
Lucy Loo Mermaid which you can find here.
Digital Stamp- 'Lucy Loo' Mermaid- 300dpi JPEG/ PNG -MAC0062m
And here is the card I made.
The image is coloured with Prismacolour Pencils and Copics.
The "White space" is actually a shade of green which I did using Pan Pastel chalk.
You can hardly see it but trust me it is there. Lol.
Not sure I am happy with the colouring on her hair or tail but hey ho, no time to do another one now..
The bow is made using a sheer two tone ribbon which I bought from Brenda's Lace and Ribbon specials on Facebook - why not pop over and have a look. Click here to visit Brenda's page.
So there you have it folks, my last card for Through the Purple Haze Challenges.
I do hope you will still find the time to join in our last two challenges as it would be a shame to miss out on the lovely prizes on offer.

"Time" to enter the Clarity Challenge

Hello lovelies.
Just popping in to share my latest make.
I was inspired to do this after attending one of the lovely Maria's workshops in Shrewsbury.
If you would be interested in attending one or indeed any of the Clarity Workshops visit the Clarity Website for more details.
So, the current challenge over at Clarity's challenge blog is "Anything but a card".
So I thought, what about a clock.
I had bought this MDF clock from That Craft Place on FB ages ago and decided it was about time I did something with it.
(Okay so this one is greyboard but mine was MDF!)
So................
This is what I did with it!!!
First off I painted it all with Gesso, such a good base.
Next I used the Clarity Olive Branch Wreath stencil - here and pulled some Grunge Paste through it.
Once it was dry I painted the whole thing with some Acrylic Paint, the slow drying one.
I left that for a couple of days to make absolutely certain that it was totally dry.
Then because I didn't have black I went over everything with dark blue acrylic paint and then using some kitchen towel dabbed alot of it off to reveal the red underneath.
Again I left it to totally dry once I was happy that I had taken enough paint off.
Then I used some Pinflair Buff It in Red to go over the Olive Leaves and then buffed them up a bit.
I used the same red Buff it on the hearts but I will come back to them in a min.
Next I used a white ink pad and using the little bunch of stars stamp from the Wee Fairy Folk set I stamped little white stars randomly over the numbers.
Now I needed to add something to the middle of the clock because it looked a bit bare.
So I used the mushrooms and a couple of fairies from the Wee Fairy Folk set and then embossed them so that they stood out a bit.
So back to the hearts.

Really stand out in that red don't they?

So rich looking don't you think?

Well having used the red Buff It I wasn't happy with they so I used the wedge end of my Flexmarkers in a deep red and went over them.  It took a while but I am pleased with how they finished up.
Then I added the clock mechanism (well actually hubby did that for me while I was at work) and voila.
It now hangs in pride of place on my craft room wall!!
Get me Miss Maria - mixed media altered art!!!!
All thanks to you.

Hoppy Easter at Totally Tilda & Friends

Hi all,
Back again with our next challenge at Totally Tilda & Friends.
Our challenge this time is:
EASTER
Remember you can use any stamped image now rather than just Tilda, although you can still use the lovely Tilda if you want to.  The only thing we don't allow is digital images.

And once again our fabulous sponsor is:
gif maker
And the prize that the lovely Nicky is offering is:
So without further ado here is my offering for this challenge:
I decided to use my Clarity Stamps - cos you all know how much I loves me Clarity!!

So this image is from the Remountable Floral Figures which you can find here.
This was a card we made at one of Maria's lovely workshops in Shrewsbury. I love those workshops. I get inspiration by the bucket load, made new friends and have such a laugh. Really great fun.
Anyhooooo, I digress!!
Here is a close up of the image which you can see is made up of lots and lots of diddy flowers, clever eh??
The background behind the oval is made from running one of Clarity's clever stencils (well the inny!) through the Cuttlebug. Will be using this idea again.
The gorgeous flowers are made from the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals Die using plain paper and then using the round stamp from the same set the rabbit comes from.
Because I hadn't quite got the middles right I added an overlarge pearl to the middle and I quite like that effect.
As you can see I brushed round the edge of the oval using my Adirondack Earthtones pad in Espresso.  I had to add the little Love stamp cos I got some ink in just the wrong place on the oval!! Grrrrr.
So there you have it.
I do hope you are able to join in with our Easter challenge this time.

Anything Goes at TTPH

Hello once again lovely peeps.
Well it seems our Welsh theme last week really scared you away in your droves!!
Sorry about that.
Anyway, you should be fine this week because our theme is once again,
ANYTHING GOES
Our fabulous sponsor is
So here is my card.
I used Wood Elf 1.
He is coloured with Copics and I decided to try and do a bit of camouflage on his outfit - well you would want to blend in if you lived in the woodland wouldn't you??
The background papers are from a First Edition pad called Isabelle.
Not happy with the apples really but hey ho, done now!
The sentiment is from a Joanna Sheen stamp set which I have had for ages and hardly used so I thought it was about time part of it at least got an outing.
The flowers are from my stash.
So there you go, hope you feel like joining in with us this week.

BINGO!!

Hello lovelies
Time once again for another challenge at Totally Tilda and Friends.
Remember, you can now use any image you wish but the one stipulation is that it must be a stamped image.  We will not accept digital images, no siree!! (Lol)
So the challenge this time is a
  Bingo Grid
and here it is.
You can do any line, horizontal, vertical or diagonal or if you are feeling really adventurous you could go for a full house!!
Our generous sponsor is
http://www.simonsaysstamp.com/servlet/StoreFront
Simon Says Stamp

One Lucky Winner will receive a RANDOM ASSORTMENT of 3 full size
Premium Dye Ink Pads from Simon Says Stamp.
So then, onto my card for this challenge:
I chose the end line on the right, Ribbon, Pearls and/or gems and Flowers.
I have used another of those gorgeous Pip images from Sugar Nellie.
This time I have used Candy Pip
The image is coloured with my Polychromo pencils.
I have used a different card too this time, one with a little bit of a tooth on it so the pencil has something to cling to.  Worked much better than the smooth card I normally use I think.
The papers are from one of the gorgeous Nitwits at Lili of the Valley pads. These are from the Promises Solids pad.
The ribbon is from Crafty Ribbons and you can find it here.
The butterflies are stamped from a piece of the same left over paper using my MS Butterfly punch.
The gems, buttons, pearls and flowers are all from my stash.
********
So can't wait to see what you all come up with for this challenge.
