Simply Summer at Ooh La La Creations
Time for a new challenge at Ooh La La Creations and this time the theme is "Simply Summer". Now obviously this is quite a wide ranging theme as there are so many ways to interpret it. So go ahead and create something which shouts "Summer" - you never know if we get enough Summery entries it may even make the sun shine!!! (Well I can dream can't I??)
Anyway, here is the card I made for this challenge:
I used the pyramage folder from the Shoes in Bloom CD and chose the image called "Summer Garden" - oh how apt! I also used the backing papers from the folder of the same name and backed these onto both dark purple card and lighter purple corrugated card.
I added two small mulberry roses and three lilac gems on to the backing paper. Does anyone else think that where I have put the gems makes the paper look 3D??? (And no - I haven't been drinking!)

Oh my word - can you believe these prizes???????
Well my friends only 4 days to the launch of the Totally Tilda Challenge blog and I just had to let you all know about the fantastic prizes we have for our first challenge. Yes, you read it right I said prizes - as this is our first challenge we have two prizes up for grabs, one from Susie at Die Cut Dreams:
and one from Bunny Zoe's Crafts who will be a regular sponsor at Totally Tilda.OMG! can you believe such totally awesome prizes??? So make sure you have your calendar marked for 1st July and the launch of Totally Tilda and Challenge #1 - it is such a sweet challenge, you're gonna love it!!! (Lots of clues there!)
Tag it at Karen's Doodles
Flicking through my dashboard earlier on I noticed a post on the Karen's Doodles United Kingdom challenge to say they had only had three entries for their latest challenge which was to make a tag or a card with a tag attached.
Now I know how much work goes into putting these challenge blogs together and I felt sorry for the fact they had only had three entries. So here is their fourth entry:
I used Karen's Love Me Forever image (cute isn't it?) and made it into a tag. I sponged the edges with Tim Holtz distressing inks (Tea Dye and Scattered Straw), coloured the image with promarkers and added a fawn coloured ribbon. Quickest thing I've ever put together! You should really call in to Karen's Doodles when you have a minute. Not only does she have some fab images - she also puts up the most wonderful freebies too - not to be missed.
So if you have a spare five minutes - make a tag and post it to the challenge blog - give me a bit of competition!!!!

I paper pieced the ribbons in her hair, the top, the sleeves, the socks and the boots all from the same pad of Papermania paper called Amethyst and also used a piece for the backing paper behind the die cut too (which I am sure you know I got from Die Cut Dreams). I added a purple ribbon from my stash and added a recently purchased lilac flower too.
I used one of Dawny's past fabulous Papertake Weekly sketches which you can find on her sketch blog and flipped it on it's side.
Please have a look at the rest of the DT creations as there are some awesome projects to see.
Have fun and good luck!!

“Make it Crafty Launches Online Craft Store”
Just a quickie to let you all know that Zoe has finally opened her new online Craft Store "Make it Crafty!.
This is a picture of a little candy she is offering to one lucky person who helps to spread the word for her.
Here is what she has posted on her blog:
I am really excited to announce that the Make it Crafty Online craft store is now live!!!!
I have been in the profession of assisting clients in creating their online stores and offering advice in many areas for 10 years or more but this is the first time I have been on the other side and well boy oh boy it’s a BIG job. I still have many products to load into the site which will happen over the next few weeks but at least it will help to keep it fresh for you all. :)
I definitely know however that my personality isn’t the type that could take on a full time job in administration. I would go insane (and have been – lol). Fortunately loving the products does help a little. :)
I am also making a bunch of videos, demonstrating copic markers and other products, so keep your eye out for those.
Sooooo to say a BIG thank you to everyone for spreading the word and being very patient I have another little launch candy!!
If you could help me spread the word one more time – this time shouting that I have opened the doors you could win this little package I have put together. PLUS I will also be choosing some winners from those that leave comments on this post to receive a FREE digi image!
So why not hop on over when you have five minutes and have a look at what is on offer - who knows you may even win a bit of candy too. Good luck.

Time for another challenge at I Love Digi - Emboss It!!
Well, once again another fortnight has passed us by and it took with it the longest day!! Boo hoo, the nights will now start to draw in and before you know where you are it will be Christmas!!
So, just in case I lose another fortnight whilst I'm not looking - lets get on with the next challenge at I Love Digi!
Thank you to all of those of you who took part in the last challenge and congratulations to the winner! Sorry, who was it?? Well you'd better hop on over to the I Love Digi Challenge blog and have a look see - who knows - it could be you!!
So, our sponsor for this challenge is the fabulous Bee Crafty:
And once again the prize for our winner is a choice of 3 fabulous Bee Crafty images:
So, onto my card for this challenge:
I needed to make a very special birthday card for a talented young lady called Alex. She is the daughter of my bestest crafting buddy Ali, aka Dragonlady (Ali you musn't let Alex read this post until after Saturday hun - don't want to spoil the surprise!).
Well, I was going to do a pink/purple card with a princess on it - but then, oh no!! Ali tells me Alex has gone off pink and purple and is into yellow and bunnies!! Hey ho, that's children for you. So brain matter working overtime here....... aha.... I seem to remember a freebie image from Delicious Doodles - yes I did, Flopsy Bunny Birthday Present which is now available to buy at £0.99 and here is the card I made using this image:
Now I coloured the image with my promarkers and embossed every dot on the wrapping paper and the ribbon from the back to make it stand a little proud. I followed the directions given by Dawn from Dawn's Stamping Thougts for this stepladder card here. So easy to follow - you really should give it a go!
I embossed his ears and his head so that they were shaped and then adhered the image on to my backing card with Silicone glue. I used my Cuttlebug to emboss a piece of yellow paper and cut two pieces of this for the side panels. The two butterflies (purchased from Clarity Stamp) were stamped and embossed with Kaleidescope Glitter - you can't really see the shimmer on the pic - but believe me they do!
I recently purchased some little heart shaped clear plastic letters which I used to add the name on the front and added some flat backed pale green gems to finish it off. The roses I have attached by feeding the stalks through the top of the "V" so that they look like they are growing!!
I do hope she likes it - I am sooo pleased with it!
So off you all go and create something with embossing on it - dry or wet (or both), your choice!! Have fun everyone and good luck!
I will also enter this card into the challenges at:
Crafty Creations - We want to see you shine (Kaleidescope Embossing Glitter on the butterflies)
Alphabet Challenge - H is for hearts
Crafts and Me - Birthdays
Crafty Catz - Shaped cards (hope this counts!)
Dare U 2 Digi Stamp - Blooms and Butterflies (Hope the blooms count)
The ABC Challenge - x is for xtra dimension (lots of 3d here)

For this fortnight's challenge our sponsor is the Fabulous Karen's Doodles and the Design Team were lucky enough to get to choose a Karen's Doodles image each to work with. The challenge this fortnight is to use the word Love somewhere on your project - so long as you use the word LOVE you can do ANYTHING else!
So on to my card. I chose to use Crafting Widower which is available to purchase from Karen's Doodles.
I decided to make a birthday card for a Daddy and here is the card I made:
I have used die cuts from Die Cut Dreams and papers from Summer Driggs - these are called Limeade. I printed off the sentiment on the computer and backed it onto black card.
I printed off an inner for the card and this is how I finished off the Love is.......
I hope you like my card and that it will inspire you to join in with this challenge. Please stop by the rest of the Design Teams blogs (links in my sidebar) and have a look at their jaw dropping creations too.
I will also enter this card into the challenges at:
One Stop Craft Challenge - one for the boys
Crafty Cardmakers - Cards for men
Magical Crafts - Something for a male/father's day
Raise the Bar - What a special guy!

Trying to move things about a bit and news about my candy!
Howdy Doody Crafting Peeps!
Sadly no card to show you just yet - later maybe. This post is just a quick update:
Firstly, you will have noticed that there are page headings at the top of my blog and slowly I will be moving most of the items from my sidebar to put onto relevant pages instead. I am hoping that this will help the blog load quicker for people reading it and also make it look a little less crowded! It is a job in process so please bear with me whilst I am moving things around - hopefully it will be for the better.
Secondly to my Candy. Now this was the photo I showed you all:
Unfortunately nobody got it right! Blimey I tried to make it not too easy but I obviously went completely the other way because 99% of you were absolutely miles out!! Susie, you can tell Garry he was wrong hun - but don't argue about it because you were wrong too!! ROFL!! Ali you were the closest hun with Tenby - but still a fair way off!!
This photograph was actually taken on Blackrock Sands, Morfa Bychan, Porthmadog, Wales and the castle you can see is Criccieth Castle (I think). Here is a closer view:
So nobody won the surprise bit of candy - still not to worry. I have my blogaversary coming up soon and I have decided to add it to that! So look out for my Blogaversary Candy sometime in July/August - there are some lovely things in it already and I will add a few more before I post about it.

Oooh I'm so proud of Ooh La La and my bestest crafting friend has some blogaversary candy on offer too.
Well, what a boring match that was to sit and watch last night! What a let down. Let's hope they actually play football next Wednesday eh??
So, good job I had today to look forward to wasn't it. Something to lift my spirits and lighten my mood. Today Ooh La La had a debut show on Create and Craft to showcase two of their CD's, namely Watercolour Memories and Shoes in Bloom, both available from the Ooh La La Store. The Design Team had all made some cards and other items to be showcased on this mornings programme and let me tell you the display of cards looked fantastic.
Imagine my surprise and total joy when Nigel picked up a Waterfall card I had made from the Watercolour Memories CD and it actually worked. I sat there hoping and praying it wouldn't fall to pieces - phew what a relief. One of my Shoes in Bloom cards was also on top of the pile of cards that Nigel picked up to showcase Shoes in Bloom too. Oooh I am so proud that Wendi, Emma and Anne asked me to be part of the Ooh La La Design Team - I am one tickled pink girl this morning let me tell you!! So in case you missed the show here are the cards I made for it:
If you saw the show you will know that Shoes in Bloom sold out and Watercolour Memories sold 75% of the stock too. Well done Wendi and Emma and thanks for giving us such fantastic products to work with. I'm just off to send an email now to Wendi - please, if you saw the show, let Wendi know what you thought - I know she was really nervous. Here is a close up of the two cards that Nigel showed:
Now the second bit of exciting news - my bestest crafting buddy Ali, aka Dragonlady has some gorgeous Blogaversary Candy on offer. It will be 12 months on 11th July since she began her blogging journey and I know that without her I wouldn't be a part of the fantastic Design Teams that I am, so thank you Ali from the bottom of my heart and many congratulations on your Blogaversary and DT places too!!!
So here is a picture of the candy that Ali is offering:

A little "Where Am I" Holiday candy
THIS IS A STICKY AND WILL STAY ON TOP UNTIL 19TH JUNE - PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FOR MY I LOVE DIGI, AUDSENTIMENTS AND OOH LA LA DT POSTS!!
Hi all, just a quick post to invite you to take part in my Where Am I holiday candy. My beloved OH and I went away for a few days last week - and surprisingly the weather wasn't half bad! OK so it rained a little bit but hey the sun came out too! Quite surprising really - the last time we went away together we went to St Austell and it rained for the whole fortnight - and NO, I am not exaggerating! I mean it rained for 14 days solidly - so this short week is definitely a step up on the weather front.
So - to my candy - I am not going to tell you what it is - all I will say is that it is "Gorjuss" - thought I'd keep you guessing. So leave me a comment with your guess and all those who get it right will go into a little ol' draw to find a winner - if someone gets it absolutely spot on I will throw in an extra pressie.
SO - WHERE AM I?
I will leave this open until next Saturday 19th June and will announce the winner on Sunday. Good luck.Friday, 18 June 2010
Ooh La La - Live Show - Create and Craft
REMINDER FOR YOU ALL!!!!!
Just a quickie to say why not forget about the football for an hour and tune in tomorrow (Saturday 19th June) to Create and Craft (channel 671 on Sky) to see the Live Debut show from Ooh La La Creations. The fabulous Debs Mitchell will be showcasing two of the fantastic Ooh La La CD's, Shoes in Bloom and Watercolour Memories, which are both available in the shop here.
The Design Team have all been busy making samples for the show and I know that Wendi and Emma are really nervous - although I'm sure they have absolutely no reason to be as the CD's will sell themselves anyway.
So 10:00 am tomorrow tune in and watch Debs' great demos or, if you are going shopping or you are busy please remember to record the show and watch it later. You wouldn't want to miss it - trust me!
If and when you get chance to watch the show, please send Wendi and Emma a quick email to http://www.ooh-la-la-creations.com/ and let them know what you though of the show and which (if any) products you have purchased.

Lovely hAnglar Shabby look on a Friday Sketch
Phew, I think I may just get this in in time for the challenge at Friday Sketchers!! Talk about last minute. My fabulous friend Clare sent me three of these fabulous new hAnglar images and I just had to use them.
So I have coloured the image with my Watercolour pencils and Promarkers and cut it out. I used silicone to raise it up and put it onto a white die cut matted onto a lilac die cut (both available from Die Cut Dreams) and roughed the edges up on the die cuts (sorry Susie!).
I then used a stencil brush and added Tim Holtz Distressing Ink (Milled Lavender) around the edge of the white die cut. I traced around the edge of one of the die cuts and made to end pieces onto which I stamped You're Fabulous from one of my Your Next Stamp sets of the same name. I distressed the edges of all my papers and backing cards with my scissors and followed the sketch at Friday Sketchers.
I added a purple flower which I recently brought from a craft shop called Second Impressions. I don't think I do shabby at all well and I'm really not sure about this card so please let me know what you think.
So I am also entering this card into the challenge at Lovely hAnglar Only - Shabby Look and the first challenge at Bunny Zoe's Crafts which is Nice and Girly
Thanks for stopping by!
