Birthday card for my friend.

Hi everyone,
Just a quick little post to show you a card I made for a friend of mine whose birthday it is today!  Happy Birthday Kerry.  Kerry has two Rhodesian Ridgebacks (dogs, in case you didn't know) and they are both perfect gentlemen.  Dylan is the eldest and the Boss and then there is Mally - oh my, he is several years younger than Dylan and as big as him already - boy is he going to be a big dog!
Anyhooo, as I said today is Kerry's birthday so I just had to make her a card with a dog on it.  And what better dog than one from Karen's Doodles called "I didn't do it!"  So here is the card I made for her:
I used the sketch from Sketch and Stash and I have shown this below:
I coloured him in using my Promarkers and matted the image onto brown card.  I used a brown DP from a Once Upon A Time paper stack and used a contrasting burgundy paper from the same pad for the bottom piece.
I added a piece of glittery pom pom thread because it was a bit different from my usual ribbon.
I sponged a cream scalloped circle in burgundy ink and then added a Happy Birthday sentiment in darker Burgundy Ink.
I added a handmade flower using vellum.  I cut out several flower shapes with my cuttlebug, then sponged a contrasting ink at the edge of the petals, then I sprayed this with hairspray to seal it but of course hairspray onto vellum is quite wet so I dried it off using my heat gun and the shapes went a little warped but I decided to leave them as they were and then layer them up using silicone glue and added a flat back half pearl in the middle.  I also used the same flat backed pearls on the top right of the card.
I will enter this card into the following challenges:
Karen's Doodles - Animal Magic
Sketch and Stash - sketch 34
One Stitch at A Time - Flowers
Die Cut Dreams - Make your own flowers
Sew Many Challenges - Anything Goes
Creative Craft Challenge - Flowers
Thanks for stopping by, and please remember to leave me a comment, I really enjoy reading them.

I Love Digi - Challenge #6 - A Thank You Card

Hello everyone,
Wow aren't the weeks just flying by?  Can you believe we are on to challenge number 6 already.  Once again a huge thank you to all those of you who joined in with our sketch challenge last week - boy you sure had fun with that one didn't you?  Remember to hop on over to the I Love Digi Challenge Blog to see if you were our winner.
So onto challenge number 6.  This time our challenge is for you to make a Thank You Card and our fabulous sponsor this time is Angela from Toucan Crafts.
Now we were all lucky enough to be given one of Angela's packs to work with this fortnight and we were asked to use some (or all) of her pack for our card.  I chose to use most of the backing papers for my card and here it is:
The orange paper down the right hand side has been layered onto blue card and I have used a border punch to give it a decorative edge.  This has been matted onto one of the other backing papers which as you can see has "Thank You" in many different languages all over it.
Then I used two smaller pieces of backing paper which I again matted onto the blue card and used as layers underneath my image.  The image I chose to use is one of the WS digital images from The Greeting Farm called Audrey.  Don't you love the way she is sticking her tongue out??  Again I matted the image onto the same blue card.  She is coloured in using Promarkers and the edges of the card have been chalked using a Peachy coloured pearlescent chalk.
I then added a three-tone blue flower on the right hand side of the card and from this I suspended a "Thank You" charm using copper wire.  I am really pleased with how this has turned out and I hope it has inspired you to take part in our Thank You Card challenge.
I will enter this card into the challenges at:
Dare U 2 Digi Stamp and One Stitch at a Time - both want you to use flowers
Sew Many Challenges - Anything Goes
TGF WCW - Spring into WCW (Well I think it looks spring like)
ABC Challenge - T is for Thank You

Woohoo it's launch day at Audsentiments!!!

Hello everyone
Well it's Thursday 29th April and as promised this is the first challenge for Audsentiments.  We will have a new challenge every other Thursday and we do hope that you will come along and join in the fun - it would be great to see a fabulous turnout for our challenges.
So, without further ado the challenge this time is "Happy Mother's Day" - you must use that sentiment on your card somewhere.  Now I know this is strange for us UK bloggers because Mother's Day was in March but I know it is later in the US so why not give it a go anyway (at least you will be well ahead of the game for next year LOL!!)
So our sponsor this week is the fabulous Merrigan from Bee Crafty

The lucky winner of this challenge will get to choose three digi's of their choice as their prize.
The DT all got to choose an image they wanted to work with so please pop on over to their blogs (link in my sidebar) and see what they have to show you.  I chose Whimsical Girl - Heart Garden for my image.
I coloured the image with my promarkers and used backing papers from a Papermania set called Exquisite.  I matted the image onto orange card.
I printed the sentiment out on the computer, put an orange flower border around it and matted that onto orange card too.
I added a handmande flower using my flower die and my cuttlebug and then added a bow to the top left of the card.  I finished off with three orange gems top right and bottom left.
I shall also enter this card into the challenges at:
Dare U 2 Digi Stamp - Flowers (Flowers on the image and a handmade flower)
One Stitch at a Time - Flowers (as above)
Shirley's 2 Girls - Use the word Mum or Mother on your card
Sew many challenges - Anything Goes
Sentimental Sundays - Blooming Gorgeous
Thanks for stopping by and please don't forget to call in on my team mates and see what they have to show you.  Have fun and enjoy the challenge.

You know what they say - Be There Or Be Square!!

Commissioned Birthday Card!

Hi everyone,
Can you believe this beautiful weather we are having??  I have cleaned my car this morning it was such a nice morning - but don't worry, sanity has now been restored and I am back here in blogland - safe and sound!
Anyway, this card is one I was asked to do for a relative, actually my cousin in Cornwall - who is horse mad!!  I don't think this one looks like her own horse but I think he is sooooo cute - I just had to use him.  So first off - the card:
The image I have used is from Wink Wink Ink and is called Little Behind - ain't he just the cutest?  I have coloured him in with watercolour pencils to try and get the shading just right.  I used pearlescent chalk around the edge of the image to soften the edges.
I added the sentiment using some die cuts which my good friend Susie from Die Cut Dreams sent me (thanks Susie) and added some red ribbon so that it looked like a rosette.
The grey papers are Stampin Up patterns and I used a black ribbon down the middle of the card which I recycled off a gift box.
I used a previous sketch from Mojo Mondays (sketch 133) which I have shown below:
I flipped it and used it longways so that my image would fit on the card.  I am quite pleased with the result and I hope that my cousin likes it too.
I shall enter this card into the challenges at:
Paper Sundaes - Card with no people
A Spoon Full of Sugar - Happy Birthday
Crazy for Challenges - CASE a card (I chose to case Mercy's card on the animal theme)
Creative Card Crew - Happy Birthday

Ooh La La - Challenge #52 - Vintage Man

Hello again everyone,
Thank you once again for all your fabulous entries on the last challenge.  Some super entries once again.
The new challenge for the next fortnight is entitled Vintage Man and again you can interpret this however you wish.  Whether it be a Layout, ATC, Card or Gift - it is entirely up to you so long as it fits the challenge.
I have made a man's card for this challenge - way out of my comfort zone as I don't like making them but - if I'm honest - I quite like this one.
So I chose to use the Passion for Fashion CD and used the folder called Boots.  I chose two backing papers and the pyramage images.  I layered the two backing papers onto green card and then put the largest one on my card front.
I used the two smaller contrasting pieces on top of the larger one.  I added a green button and green glitter ribbon to the side of the card, added my image (also backed on to green card) at an angle and then added three little green leaves where normally I would use flowers (for a female card I mean).
I used a dufex greeting again backed onto the same green card and added that above the image.
As I say, I am actually quite pleased with how it turned out and I hope it has inspired you to enter the challenge this time with whatever you choose to make.
Thanks for stopping by and please be sure to visit my other teamies blogs and see what they have to show you.

Challenge #32 at Creative Inspirations and a few challenges to boot!!

Hello all,
Well, what a beautiful day Saturday turned out to be.  No ash clouds where I am - well if there is I can't see them!
Anyhoo, I digress.  Today is Challenge number 32 over at Creative Inspirations and this time it is a recipe challenge.  This fortnight we would like to see your creations using 3 flowers, 2 papers and 1 ribbon.  Our sponsor for this challenge is the fabulous Peachy Keen Stamps.  If you haven't been by their blog you really should spare a few minutes (or do I mean hours) to browse their goodies.
So without further ado here is the card I made for this challenge:
PINK isn't it???  Not my usual colours but for some reason I just felt like doing a pink card.  I have followed the sketch over at Moving Along With The Times which I have shown below:

The image I have used  is one of the recent releases from Pollycraft.  She is Primrose Flower Fairy from the Lilybean series - I just knew I had to have this set as soon as Paula released it and I am so glad I did.  I have coloured her in using Promarkers, pencils, Sakura Gelly Glaze pens in several shades of pink.
The flowers are made up from my stash and secured with METAL brads.
The ribbon has been tied using my Bow-Easy in a double bow and I have added two METAL pink nob pins.
I have added two flat backed pearls at the top and bottom of the long piece of DP (both of the DP I have used were sent to me in a RAK some time ago and if my memory serves me right came from the lovely Clare) and added very small pink pearls on the flowers on the image.  I have also added ultra fine Pee Wee glitter in very pale pink to her wings.
I am really pleased with how this turned out and especially pleased because it also fits the following challenges:
Bizzy Becs Creatalicious Challenge - Flowers and Wings
By the Cute and Girly - Fairytales
Charisma Cardz - Monochromatic
Cute Card Thursday - Touchy Feely
Flutter by Wednesday - Open Theme (but must have a butterfly, fairy or angel)

Papertake Weekly - Cutie Pie
Penny's Papercrafty Challenges - Anything goes
The ABC challenge - S for Sparkle

Phew, think that'll do - haven't entered this many for a while now.

Thanks for stopping by.

I Love Digi - Challenge #5 - sketch time

Hello all,
Once again a huge thank you to all those who participated in the last challenge.  Don't forget to check on the challenge blog and see if you were the lucky winner.
So this fortnight's challenge is a sketch challenge and we have a fabulous sketch from Dawny P at Pinkpiggywiggy which you can see below.
So here is the card I made using this sketch:
I have used one of the new Lilybean images from Pollycraft called Clover - I believe.  Isn't she gorgeous??  As soon as I saw these images I knew I just had to have them so bought the complete set - soooo glad I did.  The papers I have used are also from Pollycraft from the Cherry Kisses range and are called Tutti Frutti.  There are three pages of papers, one green and lemon, one pink and one of mixed flowers in all three colours.  I used the green and lemon and the flowers page.
I coloured the image in with Promarkers and pencils and chalked around the edge of the image with lemon and green pearlescent chalks.
I added four green sparkly brads to the four corners and cut out several of the flower images in lemon and embossed them to make them curl slightly, secured them with a brad and adhered the flower to the card using silicone.
I shall also enter this card into the following challenges:
Creatalicious Challenges - flowers and wings
Flutter By Wednesdays - Open theme
Lily-BooToo - Spring theme (lemon, green and blossom - well there is pink on my flower!)
