My last GDT card for Softpencil for March

Hello everyone,
Wow, I can't believe another month is almost over - and that means another GDT spot is coming to an end at Softpencil.  I have had a lovely month working with Elizabeth's images (and Natalia's obviously!)  Thank you once again Elizabeth for asking me to join your fabulous team as a Guest Designer.
So this week we were given a new image to use called "Flowers for You" and this is such a cute image which you can purchase at Elizabeth's store on her blog.
The theme this week is bows and ribbons so I have incorporated both of those into one fabulous bow at the bottom of the card.
I have coloured the image using promarkers and sakura gelly glaze pens.  I used my Cuttlebug to cut out two Nestability shapes, one in plain white card (with the image on) and one in a contrasting blue paper from a Daisy and Dandelion paper pad by Docrafts.  The spotty paper is from the same pad and I have layered this onto blue card to match the backing card.  I added a pink flower to compliment the bunch the rabbit is holding.
So there you have it - cute ain't he??  Please pop on over to the other DT members and have a look at their creations too.  Show them some love by leaving a comment and it would be great if you left me one too so I know you popped by.
I will also be entering this little card into the following challenges:
Daisy Doodles - Artist's Choice
Crazy 4 Challenges - Spring
Digital Tuesday - Happy Spring

Studio 313 Designs - DT Call

Hi all,
I wanted to show you this card I made using a fabulous digi image from the very talented Shawne at Studio 313 Designs.  When I looked through the images that Shawne has on her shop site I quite literally sat there going ooohh, aaahhh,  cute, adorable, aaaahhh.  You know how some sites get you like that - well Shawne's is one of them.  There's this really adorable cute little Turtle that I think I'm just going to have to buy because - well because I just have to have him!!!
Anyhooo, on to the reason for this post - Shawne is having a DT call which lasts until March 30th so there's still time to apply if you would like to be a part of something new and exciting.  Shawne would like you to use one of the two images she has put on her blog and produce a card with it.  Here are the two images you can choose from:

Now I chose the Egg Hunt because a) it's Easter and b) I thought she was really cute.
So here is the card I made using Shawne's Egg Hunt:
I used a tan card for my backing card and then used two different papers from a new Daisy and Dandelion pad from Docrafts.  I backed the papers on to the same tan card and then added a ribbon down the right hand side of the card.
I coloured the image in using my promarkers and Marvy Markers and used watercolour pencils in three shades of blue for the sky and then using a damp sponge wiped across the sky to make it look like clouds.
I added three orange roses in the bottom left hand corner and one hand punched flower using my Cuttlebug to the top right.  I added some gems to the top left and bottom right of the card and two little butterflies because they matched my colour scheme.
I hope Shawne likes my card and have my fingers crossed for being part of her DT.  So whatcha waiting for - go off to Shawne's blog choose your image and get your card made if you'd like to be in with a chance of becoming a DT member.  Good luck everyone.
I shall also be entering this card into a few challenges:

Ooh La La - A Bow, A Button and Bling!!

Hello again everyone,
Welcome to another challenge at Ooh La La Creations.  This fortnight the challenge is to use a bow, a button and bling - as long as you incorporate those three items the rest is up to you.
I have used Hearts and Flowers images from the Fleur D'imagination CD which you can buy at the Ooh La La Creations store along with digital images, CD's and more - so if you haven't already been and had a look please take five minutes out of your day and pay a visit - you never know you might find something you like.
Anyhoo, I digress - back to my card.  You may or may not have noticed that I love decoupage, whether it be individual images or pyramage - or even reverse pyramage!!  So effective on a finished item - try it - but beware it is very addictive.
I used the Large White Bow backing paper from the Hearts and Flowers section of the CD, the page curl and the pyramage images from the same section.
I have used one of my many stash ribbons which I buy from Crafty Ribbons to add my bow and to this I have added a cream silk flower a red button and a red gem and secured it all with two red nob pins.
I have added five gems to the bottom right of the card and a red heart gem to the wording.
And I completed the card by adding one of the A4 inserts from the same section of the CD.

Creative Inspirations - Anything But A Card!!

Hello everyone,
Time for another challenge at Creative Inspirations and for this fortnight the challenge is to make "Anything But A Card".
For this challenge I decided to make a little gift box and a gift bag.  They may only be small but they will still hold a present!!  I used a template from my Crafters Companion Everyday CD for both items and printed them out using the Backing Papers from the same CD.
Firstly I made the little bag using a Balloon print backing paper and then added a LOTV image onto the front which I coloured in colours to compliment the bag.
I added a bow to the top and also a double bow to the back.  I shall fill this with Mini Eggs to give to the little girl next door.
Then I printed off the box template using a spotty Backing paper.  I added a pink ribbon down the side and topped it of with a Forever Friends image.
Two really simple little projects which took no time at all to complete.
This next Challenge will run a little longer to get over Easter Period .So you have until 10am 7th April to get your entries in, and next challenge will start on 8th April. Then we will get back to normal on 18th April. So gives you a wee bit extra to spend on your lovely Creations!!

Time for a new challenge at I Love Digi and some fab news!!

Hello my blogging buddies, and a very happy Thursday to you all.
Well actually I'm gonna do the fab news first.  Last week I opened my email to find one from Elaine at I Love Digi asking if I would like to be a permanent member of the DT for I Love Digi!!! Wooooohoooooo!!  Obviously I said Yes - so thank you Elaine for asking - I'm one chuffed blogger!!!! Not only that but Elaine also asked the other three GDT's if they would like to become permanent members too - and guess what ......... they all said Yes too.  So congrats also to Ali, Jane and Jennifer - now we're just one big happy family!! Wayhay!!
So on to this fortnight's challenge which is Easter - make a card and gift or both.
Firstly I made my little hanging basket.  I have used a Digital Mandala Stamp from Softpencil (which I have also used for my Softpencil GDT spot).
I printed it out four times exactly the same size and then cut them all out.  I have coloured them in with Promarkers, Marvy Markers and watercolour pencils.  I have adhered each one to a little box which forms the "basket" and glued each of the four edge of the mandala's around the inner box.  I have added green and yellow ribbon at each corner so that the basket hangs level and added a green and yellow flower at the top where all the ribbons join (so you can't see the join!!).  I'm gonna put some Pot Pouri in the basket to hang in my craft room - so it's a gift from me to me!!
Then I went for the card. For this I have used a fabulous little image called Jenny with Easter Egg from Wendy at Digital Doodling (a major achievement for Wendy at the moment because she is struggling with her hands and wrists - so a very special thank you to Wendy
I have coloured the image using ordinary pencils and watercolour pencils (but with no water) in similar colours to my Mandala Basket.
I have printed out some spring like papers from the sadly now defunct Funky Fairy and backed these onto green card.
I have added two shades of ribbon at the bottom, two little green butterflies and four flat backed green pearls in descending sizes.

Labyrinth of Love

Hello friends.
Today is my third posting for Elizabeth at Softpencil as a GDT and this week we were asked to use a gorgeous Digital Mandala stamp called Labyrinth of Love which is created by Elizabeth's very talented sister Natalia.  You can see more of these wonderful Mandalas at Softpencil so hop on over and take a look.
I used the sketch and Sunday Sketch and Stamp which I have shown below:
I printed out the mandala image several times in order to be able to layer it up on my card as you can see in the piccy below.
The image is coloured with three different shades of purple and one yellow promarkers.  You will notice that my backing paper is made up of several of the mandala images made smaller and printed out in black on pale purple paper to compliment the colours I have used for the main image.  The mandala backing paper is matted onto dark purple card.
I cut out four squares with my cuttlebug and added a flower shape to the middle of each one (again I used my cuttlebug to cut them out) and then added a soft lilac gem to the middle of the flower shape.
I cut out six of the small hearts from one of the mandala images and used these for the two corners of the card.  I used a purple ribbon to go across the middle of the card.
Now that I have posted the card I can see that I missed off the sentiment - hey ho!!
So there you go, my latest GDT creation for Softpencil.  If you scroll up to my I Love Digi post you will see that I have also used this Mandala image in my DT project for their new challenge which also starts today.  Using different colours really makes the mandala stamp look totally different don't you think.   Next week is my last week and I will be back next Thursday with such a cute little image you won't want to miss it!!  So see you then!!

Beautiful butterflies and shades of Grey.

Hello everyone,
Quick post from me tonight as I have a 21st Birthday Card to make for my daughter!!  I will post it over the weekend if I get time - she's really into Wolves (the animals not the football club!!) and I have just the right image for her card - more of that later!!
This is a card I have made for one of the many birthdays over at the RAK club.  I decided to use the current sketch at Papertake Weekly (another ace sketch Dawny) and I have shown this below:
Next I decided to use a Sugar Nellie image Gorjuss Girl sitting - and I coloured her in with different shades of grey watercolour and ordinary pencils.
I used a sentiment from Raindrop Echo Designs and printed this off onto dark grey card.  I used some peel off butterflies in a couple of different sizes and stuck them to some acetate and then cut them out.
I creased along the wingline so that they "popped up" and then stuck them to my card in several places.
The "flower" is handmade using black and grey ribbon from Crafty Ribbons which I stitched along one edge and then gathered it up and stitched it into place - then fixed it with silicone glue.  The papers are from my stash and I came across them the other day whilst looking for something else!  I matted them onto grey card and then layered that onto light grey paper.  I also added a narrow piece of grey ribbon at the side of the sentiment.
The other challenges I will enter this card into are:
Saturday Challenge - Shades of Grey
Charisma Cardz - Beautiful Butterflies
Flutter by Wednesdays - Butterflies, Fairies or Angels (their 100th challenge)
Cute Card Thursday - Celebrations
Magical Crafts - Things with wings

Michu and his friend and a paperboat!

Hello blogland inhabitants - and how are we all today??  Well, I trust.
This is my second GDT card for Softpencil and this week we are using this super cute image of Michu, his friend and their paperboat and we were given a theme of embossing.
So firstly I decided to use the new sketch at MOJO Monday shown below:
And here is the card I made:
So -  I was having a clear up in my craft room and came across some neglected 12 x 12 papers that I had forgotten about.  They are so old I can't remember who made them or where I had them from.  Their colours were perfect for what I had in mind, so out they came.
I coloured the image with promarkers and watercolour pencils and I double chalked the edges yellow and brown.  I used my Cuttlebug to do my embossing which you can see on the lemon panel on the left.  Each piece of DP, including the embossed panel and the image were layered onto tan coloured card.  I have also paper pierced around the edges of the base DP (although I'm not sure you can see it very well)
I added a peach coloured floral bow to the piece of embossed card to fit in with the sketch..
I will also enter this card into the challenges at:
Bee Crafty - Embossing
By The Cute & Girly - Spring is in the Air
Cupcake challenge - flower power
YNS Challenge and Blog Hop - Big Bow (Hope mine is big enough)
Stamp something - something girly
The Creative Cottage Challenge - New (Ribbon and image and cuttlebug)

Ooh La La Creations - DT card - Anything Goes

Hello again everyone.
Are you ready for another challenge over at Ooh La La Creations?  Oh, I'm glad because this week the world is your oyster as the challenge for this fortnight is "Anything Goes" so you can let your creative juices flow.
This is my first challenge as a permanent DT member and I am so thrilled to be part of the team.  So without further ado here is my card for this week's challenge.
I have used the Baby Dragon selection from the Teentastique CD (which you can buy at the store) because I thought he was soooo cute I just had to use him in something.  The backing papers are also from the same section of the CD.
I went for the pyramage because I love using pyramage on cards.  I backed this onto some sparkly lilac card and used the same card for the two squares.
I used an old Papertake Weekly sketch as the basis of my card because I liked the layout.  The spotty paper actually picks out the spots on Baby Dragon's body (I'm sorry my photo's don't show it brilliantly - I forgot I had printed the images on shiny card and the flash reflects!!)
I added a sentiment on a scalloped circle and added a small purple bow to that.
Then I added a lilac polka dot ribbon at the bottom to compliment the dots on the DP.
The whole lot is backed onto dark purple card cut down from an A4 piece of card.
I also went for an inner on this one so that it all tied in and then - just for good measure used two Baby Dragon images and added them to the card inner too.  Now I know I said it came from the Teentastique CD but I think this would be suitable for any age - don't you?  If you don't have any of the Ooh La La CD's then you really should pop along to the store and have a look at what is on offer - there's so much more than CD's.  If you want to try before you buy then have a look at the fabulous freebies they have for you to use, especially the brand new ones from the new CD - Ab Fab or what??!!
