Wishing you a Happy Birthday.

Hello everyone
Well, did Santa bring you everything your heart desired?
I do hope so.
Well that's it isn't it?  All over for another year!
Soon goes rushing by doesn't it?
Aah well, I can now relax and look forward to the birth of my fourth grandchild in early February, if the little monkey decides to wait that long!! Eeeekkk.
It was a bit of a surprise, but once everyone was over the shock we are all now really excited and looking forward to the new arrival.
So, onto my card.
We had some lovely entries this month, okay so not as many but hey it's Christmas!! Lol.
I will leave you this year with my final card for 2019.
This beautiful image is, quite fittingly, called Happy Birthday and you can find her here.
I think she is just divine, don't you?
Again I have used my Copic markers on this image.

I wanted to keep the colouring simple on this and make the "cape" part look more like a sheer fabric which just flows across the main dress.  I am quite pleased with how it looks.

The backing paper is from a Lili of the Valley with Raspberry Road Designs paper pad called Beach Bliss.  I was so taken with this particular sheet I wanted to leave it as clean and simple as possible so just added a piece of fine lace across the middle.  The sentiment is made from Mini Word Chain stamps from Claritystamp because again I didn't want to overpower the image or the paper.

So there you go then.
I hope 2019 was a good year for you all and that 2020 will be even better.
Have a fabulous New Year whatever you are doing.
See you next year.

Northern Blessing for Christmas

Hello all
Here is my 3rd inspiration piece for this month's challenge over at the Ching Chou Kuik Facebook challenge. (Remember the themes are the same on the blog challenge too)
This gorgeous image is called Northern Blessing and you can find her here.
Coloured with Copic markers I went for blue shades this time.

The gorgeous backing paper is from a Lili of the Valley paper pad called Frosty Christmas.
The sentiment is done using some fabulous Clarity stamps.
Here is a little close up of the image.
Now I have noticed whilst writing this post that I forgot to add in the whites on her eyes.  Rest assured I will fix that before sending the card to anyone! Lol
I wanted to keep this quite simple so only added the three flowers and a small piece of lace under the image as I think the image is just too beautiful to detract from.
What do you think?  Are you a clean and simple crafter or a pile it on crafter?
I think it depends on what you are making really doesn't it?
I would love to hear your thoughts on that.  Leave me a comment and let me know what your views are on that subject.

Right, busy busy, must get on.
See you all very soon

Colour Crazy Challenge - Time for Contemplation

Hi all
Well, I hope you have everything all done and dusted ready for the Big Man's visit?
Mine is all done, has been for a while actually.
So, now I just need to sit back and enjoy all the fun and laughter of the day.
So, onto my project.
As you all know our challenges at Colour Crazy are always;
ANYTHING GOES
However, we are a Colouring Challenge and therefore we MUST see some handcolouring on your project.  We DO NOT accept digital entries, sorry.
So, our sponsor for this challenge is the fabulous:
I am pretty sure you will all have heard of them by now but if not, firstly where on earth have you been? (LOL) and secondly, you really should pop over and have a look at what they have to offer.  From dies to papers, actual stamps to digi stamps, and stencils to CD Roms, they really do cater for everyone.  Don't take my word for it though, just pop over (click the name just above) and have a good old mooch.  You never know what you will find, there really is something for everyone.
So, onto my project.
I decided to make a wall hanging for my Craft Room this time.  Call it a little Christmas Present to myself.
I have used the fabulous Glass Half Full digital image here.

Using my Craft Artist Digital Programme, I put some Distressed Wood digital papers as my background.  Then I added some cute mushrooms from the Autumn 2015 bundle and finally made a couple of "vines" of leaves from the Horace and Boo Floral Foliage collection.  I also used a large mushroom image from the 2015 bundle to give her something to sit on.
She is coloured with my Polychromo Pencils.

Then I added the image to a canvas board.  I have added a piece of ribbon so that she will hang in my craft room to remind me that "Some Days Are For Contemplation"  That sentiment is from the Winnie Special Moments Quotes digital download pack.

I do hope you like my project, please leave me a comment before you leave, I really do appreciate them all.

So, I will just wish you all a very Happy Christmas (if you celebrate) and a Peaceful and Happy New Year.
See you on the flip side.

Spring Jasmine

Hi all
This is my second inspiration card for this month's challenge over at Ching Chou Kuik's Facebook challenge.
For this card I have used the gorgeous Spring Jasmine image which you can find here.
Isn't she just the most adorable image ever?
Once again I have coloured with my copics and I am really pleased with how this turned out.  I wanted the shawl to look quite lightweight against her dress - do you think it works?
Obviously Jasmine is usually white which is why I have done white flowers.  I haven't just left them as uncoloured either, no sirreee!  There are four different colours on those flowers, three greys and a lemon.  I am quite pleased with them too.
The vine leaves are a John Next Door die called Ivy Corner.  They cut beautifully and I think they give a fabulous shape to set off those flowers which are from my ever depleting stash, really must go flower shopping!! Lol
The papers are from Lili of the Valley with Raspberry Road called Shabby Shack.  I really don't know what I am going to do when I have used all these papers as they don't produce them any more! Boohoo.
Anyhoo, I can't wait to see what fabulous entries you come up with for this month's challenge. Don't forget that you can also enter at the Ching Chou Kuik Blog challenge too as their themes are the same as the Facebook themes.
Right, must get on.
See you soon.

Through the Window - Digi Choosday Challenge

Hello everyone
Well, things are moving along quite quickly now aren't they?  Not long before the big man goes a visiting!  Hope you are all ready? Lol

I wanted to show you my latest creation today which is a bit different for me.  I feel like I have regressed to my childhood! hahaha

For my card this time I made a "Window frame" which I cut out of Kraft card and then painted with white gesso.  I suppose I could have just used white card really couldn't I? Lol

So I wanted people to think that they were in this room and were looking out at the sweet little Carol Singer outside with her pretty little reindeer and singing birds. The image is called Winnie Heavenly Angel, Musical Winter, isn't she just the cutest?

In order to make it look like an inside window I added a piece of "net curtain" and a "pelmet" (gosh I sound old now don't I??)  I used a wooden skewer for the pole and then folded the top of the net over and stitched along the width and then threaded it onto the pole.  I was going to leave it like that but it just didn't look finished so added the chunkier lace on top.

To add to the feeling of being inside I attached a line of little stockings to the window sill. These came from the Winnie Winterland Tags and Frames digital download I changed the colour of these in my Craft Artist programme to match the "wallpaper" 😀

I added a sentiment, again from the same Tags and Frames download, which I again changed the colour on and then finished off the front with some sparkly gems.

Then I coloured up the sweet little image and added it to the inside of the card.  I had to fiddle around with where it printed on my page so that when I trimmed the paper it fitted square on the inside.

The image is coloured with my polychromo pencils and the background is done with Pan Pastels.  I have added some sparkle to the fur on her hat and coat but it doesn't really show up very well on the pics.  Looks okay IRL though! Lol

So, there you go then.  What do you think?  Does it look like my granddaughter made it?? Lol (She is 2 by the way! 😂😂😂😂)

Now remember today is the start of the new challenge over at Digi Choosday which means not only do you have another two weeks to submit an entry for the challenge but you also get a MAHOOSIVE DISCOUNT on selected digital products over at the POLKADOODLES STORE.
Hop on over to the DIGI CHOOSDAY CHALLENGE BLOG and pick up your DISCOUNT CODE and have a mooch around the store.
You have to be quick though, it only lasts until midnight!

Right, I shall be off then.  Please let me know what you think of my project, I do love to read all your comments.

A Gift For You!

Hi all
Here is the first of my inspiation posts for the last challenge of the year over at Ching Chou Kuik's Facebook group.
This month's challenge theme is:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY/HAPPY CHRISTMAS
Choice is yours.
I hae gone with Happy Birthday for this first card and have used the wonderful,
A Gift For You, hence the blog header! Lol

Coloured with my copics and used colours I wouldn't usually go for, mustard!  I love how it has turned out.

Now I don't know if you can see it (trust me you can't unsee it once you do, hahaha) but if you look at the wings can you see a bird's head and beak??  Every time I look at the image, it is all I can see now. Lol

The sentiment is a Claritystamp from one of their fabulous Wordchains and the flowers and lace are from my stash.

Hope you all get a chance to join in with the challenge this month.  I can't wait to see what you all come up with.

Orange and lemon - eeeek!!

Hi again
Wanted to show you my latest project.
This card uses the fabulous Ching Chou Kuik image "Blowing in the Wind"

Bet you are wondering the significance of the blog header eh??
Lol.  Well, I am not a huge lover of using orange and lemon really.  I never think it looks quite right once I have finished.  But, do you know what?  I am kinda loving this one!
I think I might be a cured of my colour phobia. Lol

Once again coloured with my Copics and I have used papers from a Lili of the Valley pad called One Birdie Lane.  Sadly they are no longer available which is a crying shame because they are fabulous quality.

The flowers are from my stash.

Right, gotta go.
I have so enjoyed seeing what you have all entered into the challenge this month and am looking forward to seeing the entries into our next challenge too.

Digi Choosday - Anything Goes

Hi everyone
Today I want to share my pocket card with you all.

So, Choosday rolls around once more and you know what that means right?
Yep, a new challenge over at Digi Choosday and a brand new MAHOOSIVE discount on selected digital products all day!! Woooohoooo!
You can find the discount code over on the Digi Choosday challenge blog as usual.  You just need to add the code at checkout to save those pennies.

So, before you all rush off to use the discount let me just tell you a little bit about my card.
Our challenges are always ANYTHING GOES, which you probably all know by now eh?
But, the Design Team are always given little extra challenges to address.  Let's face it, if we all did a simple card with an image on, it isn't much in the way of inspiration for all you lovely peeps out there now is it?
So this fortnight we needed to make a card with a pocket or mini envelope on with something inside.
So, this is what I came up with.  What do you think?

I checked out You Tube for a bit of inspiration and decided to go with one of the simplest makes.
Now this needed a piece of paper 8 inches by 11 inches which had a design on both sides.
So, I looked through my digital papers and found two that I liked and then printed them out on one piece of paper, i.e. made it double sided!
It is just a case of simple folds and scoring and one cut line, so so easy really.
Click HERE for the link for the You Tube video I used.
You can't really see the second paper as it is between the two pieces of lace but it is stripey rather than starry.
My only problem was, because it was made from paper, (actually quite thick paper as it goes) it wasn't very substantial.  So, I decided to make the pocket part and then stick it to a card base.  The only problem with that is that it can tend to become front heavy so you need to bear that in mind when you add things to the front.  If I hadn't have added the silver chain bit at the top it would probably have been okay.

Having made the pocket part of the card and adhering it to a card blank I then set about the other elements.

In my Craft Artist programme I added all the elements from different digital download packs and then started to put it all together.  Because I wanted to add images to the tags and for them to be double sided I chose blank tag images (4 of them) and added them to the workspace - then I grouped them all together so that when I changed the size they would all be exactly the same.
Then I added the images and sentiments to each tag, adding a shadow to each one so they looked a little less flat.
I printed these out along with the pile of presents image which I cut out and adhered to the front of the card with pinflair silicone glue to "lift it" a little.
I added white lace to the edges of the pockets to give them a little more interest and then added the chain of silver beads across the top left corner.  These are actually part of a very fussy necklace which I don't wear any longer. Get me eh, upcycling!! Lol

Finally I added some ribbon to the tags to be able to pull them out of the card pockets and added cute little bows to either side so you can't see the hole.
The final touch was some sparkly little gems across the bottom and to the middle of the bows on the pile of presents image.
So there you have it!
My first pocket card and possibly not my last.

I think the papers needed more of a contrast myself, what do you think?
Other than that, I am pretty pleased with how it turned out.
Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Remember to stop by the Digi Choosday blog whatever so that you can use that fabulous discount, it's not there for long! xx

These are the elements I used and the links for where to buy them:
Two digital papers from the Winnie White Christmas Paper Heaven 1
The tags are from the Winnie Winterland Tags & Frames
The pre-coloured Winnie image on the tag is Winnie Heavenly Angel Delivering Candy
The other images on the tags are from Winnie White Christmas Embellishments digital download
The sentiments on the tags are from Winnie Celebrations 1 Sentiments

Right, I shall be off for now.
See you all soon.

Crimson Holly

Hello again
Back again with another Ching Chou Kuik card to show you.
This time I have used Crimson Holly for my card.
I just adore this image.

I decided to go back to my Polychromo pencils for this one.
I don't know why but I always love to colour this image in pencil!

Now the eagle eyed amongst you may spot some white dots throughout her hair.
I added lots of white dots, normally quite effective, but I think as I had printed this one out a bit smaller than normal it just overpowered the colouring.  So I went over the image with a craft knife and scraped them all off.  It has left a ghost like remnant of the white ink but I actually quite like it.

The greeting is from a Claritystamp letterbox set and the flowers are all from my stash.

Now I normally do the butterfly on this image in orange and yellow but for some reason I went with purple on this one.  It gives a completely different perspective to the image I think?  What do you think?  Shoud I go back to orange and yellow for the next time I use it?

Right, best get a wriggle on.
See you soon.
Hugs

Colour Crazy Challenge - Be a Foxicorn!

Hello everyone
So today, we see another challenge over at Colour Crazy.
Our fabulous sponsor this time is:
KNITTY KITTY DIGIS
They really do have some fabulous images, a real good mix.
For my project I got to use this gorgeous little fella:
Digi Stamp Instant Download. The Foxicorn Knitty Kitty Digis image 0
He is called The Foxicorn
I just couldn't resist him.
So here is my card.

I was going to colour him up in pretty unicorn colours but then I decided to just keep him as a fox who was trying to be a Unicorn.

He is coloured with my Copics and I have used my Sepctrum Noir Sparkle pen to add a bit of sparkle to his horn. (Actually, I decided to go the whole hog and make him sparkly all over.  Sadly it doesn't really show up in the pics but he is really sparkly, honest!) Lol

I am really pleased with how he looks.
What do you think?
Would you have coloured him in fantasy colours or left him as proper foxy colours?
I'd love to know what you would have done.

Anyway, can't wait to see what you all submit into the challenge this time.
Have fun and good luck.

Purple Iris

Hi all
Thanks for stopping by.
This card is made using "Purple Iris" by Ching Chou Kuik

This is my second inspiration piece for the current Facebook challenge. (The same challenge is also on the Ching Chou Kuik Blog Challenge too).
The challenge this month for all you lovely people is Remembrance/Thanksgiving/Thinking of You, however the Design Team are given a different topic each week this month and this week it is:
PURPLE (LOTS OF IT!!)
So, hence my choice of image to use.

Coloured with my Copic markers (really getting into these now, lol) in several shades of purple.
I added the light green background just for a bit of contrast really.

I added to purple die cut corners, stamped a Happy Birthday sentiment using Clarity Stamps and then added a fabulous purple bow and added a purple button to the centre to set it off.

The little purple gems, bottom right hand corner just finished it off nicely I think? What do you think?

Digi Choosday - Anything Goes

Hi all
I have made this cute little Christmas Card for my Granddaughter, isn't it just the cutest owl image ever?

I love how Polkadoodles seem to cater for every eventuality and every genre.
There is literally something for everyone over at their store, you really should go and have a mooch around, you might just find something you like.

Well, it is Choosday again and you know what that means don't you?
That's right, a new Anything Goes challenge over at the Digi Choosday challenge blog and not only that but there is a brand new HUGE DISCOUNT code for you to use on selected digital products.
So, once you have finished here you can hop on over to the challenge blog, pick up your discount code and go shopping.  Now what could be better than that I ask you?
Seriously, if you haven't started your Christmas Cards yet there is such a lot to choose from over at the Polkadoodles store, you could buy, create, make and complete all your Christmas cards in one go! Lol.
The image is called Letter to Santa - Twiggy & Toots digital download
So, why did I choose this particular image then?
Well, as you know our challenges are always Anything Goes but the Design Team always get a little extra challenge for their projects.  This time we could use any image to make a Christmas Card but it had to include an animal.  Now this wasn't my first choice because I had already decided what I was going to do but........ when I saw these images I just knew I had to use them.

I have made this card in my Craft Artist Digital Programme.  The main image is coloured with my Faber Castell Watercolour pencils.  They haven't seen the light of day for ages now so I thought it was about time they got some use.  Boy do I have some practising to do with them! Hahaha. The other elements for the card I used were:
Winnie White Christmas Printable Papers 3 - The holly background paper on the inner frame
Winnie Winterland Tags/Frames digital download - for the sentiment, snowflakes, holly wreath and the circular frame under the holly wreath.

This was my second attempt actually because I used my Arteza Brush pens first off but I really wasn't happy with the look I got so I abandoned that one and did this one instead.  Isn't it funny how different things turn out depending on the colouring medium that you use??  What do you all use?  How do you find it?

Anyway, I hope you like what I made.
Would you do anything different if you were going to make one like this?
I'd love to know.

Ok. That's about it from me just now so Tata for now and see you soon.
Remember to leave me a comment before you go.
Would love to see you all enter the challenge too. 💖💖💖
