Aud Sentiments - Use the word Thanks.

Well, it is Thursday once again and that means it is time for another challenge at Aud Sentiments.  Oooh there were some beautiful baby cards for the last challenge, thank you to all of you who entered.  Please stop by the challenge blog and see if you were handpicked as our winner or one of our top 3.
So this week we are lucky to have Meljen's Designs as our sponsor and you will find her fabulous images on sale at Whimsy Stamps here.  The design team were all lucky enough to be able to work with some of
Meljen's gorgeous images and I have used Little Bear Hugs which you can buy here.
So here is my card:
I have coloured the image with promarkers and watercolour pencils and matted the image onto pale lemon card.  The papers I have used are from a Papermania capsule collection called Verde and I matted all the pieces on to the same pale lemon card.
I added three roses, leaf and green pin (available from Nikki at Bunny Zoe's Crafts) and a double lemon bow.  The sentiment is on a tag which I have hidden behind the image but it pulls out like so!
So I hope you like my card and please remember to stop by the rest of the Design Team and see their stunning creations. (Links on the DT tab at the top of the page.  I can't wait to see your wonderful creations, so until next time TTFN!

A new blog - some fabulous candy and my great news!!

Well, good evening to you all.  It is very wet and miserable here in Staffordshire, as I think it is in most of the UK today - I hope your weather is a little better than ours.
Anyway, I am here to tell you about a new challenge blog called "Do it with Digis" that will be launching on 1st December with some blog candy.  This new challenge blog is going to be run by Lynne, my teammate at Die Cut Dreams.  Lynne has her own blog "Stamping around the Block" and she also runs Sentiments 4 You where you will find digital and die cut sentiments to use on your fabulous projects.  Lynne decided to set up a challenge blog where her sentiments will feature in a big way.  Here is what Lynne has had to say about it:

"I'm here with some very, very, very, exciting news!!! On 1st December I am launching a new Challenge Blog DO IT WITH DIGI'S. I have assembled an absolutely fantastic Team of "Digi Divas" to delight you with their creations and they are all raring to go!!
We will launch on Wednesday 1st December with some very yummy blog candy.. Mmmmmm :o)
Blog candy will end at Midnight GMT on 31st December and the winner will be announced on 1st January 2011.
Our first challenge will begin on Thursday 6th January 2011 and will be a fortnightly challenge - we have some fabulous sponsors lined up with some great prizes for you :o)
I will also be popping in and out with some "FREEBIE" digi sentiments :o)
If you pop over now - the blog is up and running but still a work in progress - but you can become a follower and then when we update it and blog candy launches you will be notified.
We are all soooo excited for this and hope you will be too."

Lynne has very kindly asked me to be a part of her fabulous Design Team and of course I just had to say Yes (have to say, didn't have to think about it for long either!!!).  I'm going to be a Digi Diva!!!!!  Woohooo!
So if you like to use digital sentiments and would like to take part in the first challenge on 6th January and would also like the chance to win some fabulous blog candy then hop on over to the new blog site (currently undergoing some tweeking and a blog face lift) and become a follower - that way you won't miss out on any of the exciting news!!

Well it is Monday again and you know what that means don't you?  That's right it's time for the new challenge at Die Cut Dreams.  Firstly let me just say thank you to all those who entered our last challenge wow were there some fabulous Orange and Hot Pink creations.  Remember to call in at Die Cut Dreams and see if you were either our lucky handpicked winner or one of our handpicked top 3!!
So this week our challenge is one that I know alot of people struggle with and that is to make a card for a Boy using stars and stripes!  Male cards are just one of those areas that you either love or you don't and I have to admit I'm not mad keen on male cards.  But, it is a challenge so here is the card I made:
The image is one of Mo Manning's and I've had him coloured in for ages and not got around to using him.  He is coloured with promarkers and watercolour pencils.
The two DP's I have used are again from Summer Driggs and called Freedom Ain't Free.  The Happy Birthday sentiment is from an Ooh La La CD called Passion for Fashion.  I added three blue self adhesive stars from my stash to finish it off.
Please remember to stop by the rest of the DT (links on the Design Team tab at the top of the page) and have a look at their wonderful creations.

Another Tuesday dawns bright and clear and that means it is time for another Softpencil Tuesday.  This week the Design Team are using another of Elizabeth's Halloween images and this one is called Adorable Mummies which you can purchase here.
...... and here is the card I made.
These images are just so easy to colour and use.  I used blending pencils to colour most of this image and then rubbed them all down to give softness to the image.
I added a stamped greeting from a Halloween stamp set from My Favourite Things and then added three pumpkins (from the same stamp set) which I coloured with promarkers and adhered using silicone to give a bit of depth.  The backing paper is again from Summer Driggs called A Boo-tiful Night.  The ribbon is from Crafty Ribbons.
Remember to visit the rest of the Design Team (links at the top of this page) as they too have some fabulous projects to show you.  I know you will want to stop by the Softpencil Group at Papercraft Planet where you will find chat, freebies and challenges to keep you busy.  Look out too for any challenges which Softpencil is sponsoring as this gives you an opportunity to win a voucher to spend in the Softpencil store.

Scary Stuff at Ooh La La

Well, not actually scary stuff at the blog site - more to do with our next challenge at Ooh La La which is just entitled Scary Stuff!  Now this can mean exactly what you want it to mean - it could be halloween, it could be something which scares you or well, whatever really so long as we can see the challenge theme in your creation.  Before I go any further though, I would just like to say a big thank you to those of you who entered our Nothing Floral challenge - you all seemed to cope admirably without using any flowers and I know for some of you that will have been a real hard challenge!!
So onto the next challenge and here is the card I made:
I have used the images from Dreams of Tranquility and this folder is called The Master and His pet.
I kept it really simple and just used one backing paper and one image.
I added a sentiment from one of the other CD's so you see you can intermingle all the images etc from one CD with another!  I then just added three flat backed pearls top right and bottom left to finish off.  A really simple and quick card yet just as effective as some with loads of details on!  Well, I think so anyway.
Please remember to stop by the rest of the DT and have a look at their creations - there really is some talented ladies on this DT whose work you won't want to miss!  Good luck and have fun.

Die Cut Dreams - Colour Combination!!

Monday once more and that means another challenge at Die Cut Dreams.  Thank you for all your wonderful Get Well Soon creations - there were some absolute stunners!!  Remember to stop by the challenge blog to see if you were hand picked as our winner or handpicked as one of our top 3!
So onto the next challenge and this time we are giving you a colour combination which is:
HOT PINK & ORANGE
Now, these are not two colours I would normally put together but I had great fun with this challenge and here is the card I made for it:
I love Kraftin Kimmie's stamps and I think they are just perfect for the more way out colour combinations as they are just so quirky!!  The image is coloured with promarkers and then cut out and placed on one of those wonderful die cuts from Die Cut Dreams - a veritable wonderland of goodies well worth a visit.
I also added some orange and pink flowers and two pins from Bunny Zoe's Crafts and some punched leaves in orange and pink to match.

Audsentiments - Baby time!

Well that's another fortnight off the calendar - slowly creeping towards Christmas once more!  Thank you to everyone who took part in our last challenge which was to use a Halloween sentiment.  What fabulous creations we had to choose from.  Remember to stop by the challenge blog and see if you were one of the lucky ones!!
So onto the next challenge and our sponsor for this challenge is Revi Devi who have some super cute images - you really should stop by.
For this challenge we would like you to use any sentiment that has to do with a baby, so that could be a birth or a Christening or even a first birthday or first Christmas - it's up to you!
So, here is my card made using one of Revi Devi's fabulous images:
I coloured the image with my promarkers and then cut it out.  The backing paper is from the D.A.I.S.I.E. company and is called Pink Stripe - I printed it out A5 size and adhered it to some pink glittery paper that I've had for ages.
I added a "It's a Girl" ribbon down the side and added two large baby pink flowers at the top.  The congratulations banner is from a sheet which I bought at Crafts U Print some time ago.
I love the simplicity of the image on this card and I hope you like it too.  Remember to stop by the rest of the DT (links on the Design Team tab at the top of the page) and see what fabulous creations they have to show you.

Remember also to enter our monthly candy drawing this month sponsored by Mad for Markers.

Softpencil Tuesday - Happy Halloween

Hello all,
Well another Tuesday rushes past and that means another Softpencil Tuesday.  This week we are showcasing one of Elizabeth's Halloween releases called Happy Halloween.  I think this is such a cute image, (but then they all are really!!).  So here is the image we are using this week which you can buy here.
And here is the card I made:
I have used an aperture card for this image and made a frame using the aperture and the backing paper which is from Summer Driggs and is called Happy Halloween.  I added some recently purchased Halloween ribbon from Crafty Ribbons down the left hand side to which I have added some flat back pearls and a stamped sentiment from a Halloween stamp pack from My Favourite Things.
The image is coloured with watercolour pencils with a few promarker highlights.  I have used black and orange chalk on the background to  make the image stand out more.
Don't forget to look out for challenges which Softpencil sponsors because that is your chance to win a voucher to spend in the store.  Also try paying a visit to the Softpencil group at Papercraft Planet where you will find other Softpencil fans who love to chat and also the odd challenge and freebie.  Please stop by the other DT blogs (links on the Design Teams tab at the top of the page) as I know there are some fabulous inspirational posts for you to see.

The new Easton Kit at Summertime Designs

Those of you who follow me regularly will know that I love using the digital papers designed by Summer Driggs.  My bestest crafting buddy Ali (aka Dragonlady) introduced me to Summer and I am so glad she did.  This lady has an awesome talent and her kits are fabulous.
There is currently a new kit on her blog and it is called the Easton Kit.  Here is a picture of Easton:
Now I'm not gonna go into details here but suffice to say this little chap has not had the best start in life and to make things even worse his parents have been through the biggest nightmare of all - one of their beloved children died.
Summer has all the details on her blog here - I'm not gonna apologise for sending you there to read her post but be warned you may need a tissue or two!!  Summer has designed this kit to try and raise some money for this family and after you have read her post you will understand why!  I have downloaded the kit and will use it with pride, I also sent her a donation.  Please find it in your hearts to give just a little to try and help this grieving family, after all that's what we all are isn't it - one big blogging family.
Thank you.
