DCD Challenge #90 - Sketch Time!

Hi folks, well it is Monday again and that means it is time for our next Bi-weekly challenge at Die Cut Dreams.  I would just like to say a big thank you to all those who entered our last challenge, we had some fabulous entries once again - we really do appreciate all your support at Die Cut Dreams.
So, what's the next challenge I hear you call!!
This time we have a sketch for you to follow and that sketch was designed by ME!
Now this is the first sketch I have done for a challenge so I hope you all like it.  Hop on over to the Die Cut Dreams challenge blog and have a look at the sketch and what our fabulous design team have done with it.
Here is my take on the sketch anyway:

I have used a Karen Middleton stamp from Sweet Pea Stamps (sheet 3 Plate 114) - isn't she just adorable.  I have coloured the image using my Prismacolour pencils and have added Crystal Glamour Dust to the image to give it a bit of bling - well you gotta have glitter with fairies don't ya??

The image is cut out and placed on one of Susie's fabulous Die Cuts from her shop Die Cut Dreams. (You'll remember that it is closed at the moment because Susie is moving house but I'll let you know when she re-opens).
The papers are from a K and Company paper pad called Classic and a Papermania Signature pack called Regency.
I added a stamped sentiment, some flat backed gems and three Mesh flowers for a bit of bling.  The flourish is a Marianne Creatable die.  So there you have it, I hope you like it and that it has inspired you to join in with our sketch challenge this time.
Thanks for stopping by and remember to leave me some love before you go so I know you popped in.
Challenges:
In a Sweet Pea Dream - Anything Goes and Bling It Up!
Charisma - Birthdays in pink
Simon Says - sparkle and shine
Paperplay - sparkle galore
Rainbow Lady - with a flourish
YNS - Pop it Up

So as usual here are my sneaky peek images for this challenge:
A

B

C

I'll give you a clue - I've used the same Tilda on each one but can you guess which Tilda I have used?????
I'll be back next week with the midweek reminder and all will be revealed!

Midway Reminder - Totally Tilda #22 - Tilda and her Dog/Cat

Hello peeps,
Well I just popped in to remind you that you have about a week left to submit your entries for our latest challenge at Totally Tilda.
Don't forget the challenge this time is:
TILDA AND HER DOG OR CAT
Now I don't actually have a Tilda Dog (although I think there is one) so I have used a doggie stamp that I already had in my stash.  So without further ado here is the card I made:
I followed an old Friday Sketchers Sketch and used some doggy papers (which I think are Magnolia) that the delightful Susie Sugar sent me some time ago.  I have used Bon Voyage Tilda and coloured her with watercolour pencils and promarkers.
She is sitting on one of those Die Cuts from Die Cut Dreams and I have chalked around the edge of the white die cut with pale yellow and brown pearlescent chalk to fit in with the colour scheme.  The ribbon with the bones on is from Hobbycraft and I just had to buy it when I saw it 'cos I thought it was sooo cute.
The dog is also coloured with watercolour pencils.  The buttons and the brads are from my stash.
So there you have it, Tilda with her dog.
I am looking forward to seeing more of your wonderful creations over at Totally Tilda.
Thanks for stopping by.

The Digi Divas have gone Sassy and Sparkly

Hello peeps.
Well it is Thursday again and that means that once again it is time for Team A to show off their creations on the new challenge at Do It With Digis
So the new challenge is:
SASSY AND SPARKLY!!
(Bet you didn't see that one coming did you?? LOL)
Our sponsor for this challenge is
The Design Team got to play with a couple of their fabulous images and this is what I came up with for my card:
I don't know why but this just screamed black and red to me.  The image is coloured with my newly purchased Prismacolour Pencils (oooohhhh I am in lurve with these pencils - they are just fabulous).  The only bits I didn't use them on were the earrings and the belt where I used gold glamour dust. The sentiment comes with the digi image. I just added a black brad into the centre of the ribbon just to distract from the boldness of the colour a little bit.
I have placed the image onto one of Susie's fabulous Die Cuts from her shop (which will be open again once Susie has moved house and settled in).  I added black flat backed pearls and then added some red buttons into the centre of the flowers on the background paper (which is a Paper Cellar pad called - would you believe - Black and White!)

I hope you like my card and that you will stop by the rest of the design team blogs (link at the top there) and have a look at their fabulous creations.

Die Cut Dreams - Princess Birthday

Monday once again and that means time for a new challenge at Die Cut Dreams.  Once again we had a fabulous lot of entries to our last challenge and it was soooo hard choosing our winner and top 3.  But, we managed it so if you pop over to the Die Cut Dreams challenge blog you will be able to see who we picked - you never know - it may be YOU!!
So for this challenge our wonderful leader Susie Sugar set the challenge of:
PRINCESS BIRTHDAY
Now I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the fact that it is Susie's birthday on 7th May???? No - surely not.... but as it happens this is the card I sent her for her birthday.  Hope you liked it Mrs Sugar!! MWAH!
So here is the card:
I have used a paper from the Papermania signature Regency pack as my backing paper and placed a run of lace down either side.  Then I have used one of those fabulous Die Cuts that Susie sells in her shop Die Cut Dreams (I haven't added a link here because the shop is temporarily closed at the moment as Susie is moving house - but I'll let you know when it is back up and running again).
I have added a large pink pearl brad at the top of the crown, a piece of glittery thread across the bottom and then adorned it with pink gems.  I also added one of those cute flowers from Bunny Zoe's Crafts too.
The image I have used is from The Greeting Farm called Cheeky Beauty.  I have coloured her with promarkers and watercolour pencils and have added some fishnet stockings for a bit of extra cheekiness.
The sentiment is from the wonderful Lynne at Sentiments 4 You (soooo glad I know you Lynne!!) and to finish off Ijust added four pink gems at each corner.

So there you have it - my Princess birthday card for a very very dear friend!
I hope you have time to join in with our challenge this time and that you will also stop by the rest of the design teams blogs and have a look at their fantastic work.

Totally Tilda - Challenge #22 - Tilda and her dog or cat

Well, it is Sunday again and that means it is time for another challenge over at Totally Tilda.  We had some beautiful entries for our last challenge and once again it was hard to choose our winner and top 3.  But, choose we have so if you would like to pop over to the Totally Tilda challenge blog you will be able to see who we chose.
So, onto the next challenge and as the title would suggest we would like to see either a cat or a dog feature alongside our Tilda in your creations this time.
So, as usual here is my sneaky peek at my card which I will be showing you next week on the Midway Reminder:

Please remember to stop by the rest of the Design Team's blogs (link on the Design Teams tab at the top of the page) and have a look at their fabulous work.
Thanks for stopping by, see you next week.

Flashback Friday 11.0 - First Wedding Card

Hi peeps.
Just a quick post this one.  I have been watching with interest the challenges at Flashback Friday and every time I see a new one I think to myself - I must go back and look to see if I have a card that fits this challenge but sadly I never seem to get the time to do it.  Well, not today - today I have had a bit more time and have actually gone back and looked through my blog - wow, what an experience that was.
Looking back I think I used to follow the sketches too literally and my cards reflect that I think.
So, anyway the theme for challenge 11.0 is "First Wedding Card".  I don't think this is the first wedding card I ever made but it is the first one I blogged so here it is!!

I made this in August 2009 and you can see the original post here.
I entered it into a couple of challenges at the time and I think it was one of the first digital images I used.  The image is from Pollycraft and I thought it was so sweet.  The papers were from a Crafter's Companion CD - I think it was the Occasions CD and I printed it off in purple tones.
These days I would have matted the papers before I used them and would have also matted the main image - isn't it funny how your work changes over time without you really noticing.
I have enjoyed looking back at older cards and will certainly be entering at Flashback Friday again!
Bye for now.

Midway Reminder - Totally Tilda #21 Paper Piecing

Hello peeps,
Well I just popped in to remind you that you have about a week left to submit your entries for our latest challenge at Totally Tilda.
Don't forget the challenge this time is:

PAPER PIECING!

Now you know that I always show you a sneaky peek of my card the day the challenge goes live don't you?  So today is the day I can show you the whole thing!  Bet you're excited now aren't you?? LOL
Just kidding, I'm not really that big headed, honest.  So here you go then, my card for this challenge:
I have used a side stepper card which I bought from Crafts 4 You which is run by my good friend and Team mate Lynne.  My image is Bon Voyage Tilda and I have paper pieced her dungarees, her t-shirt, her socks and her ribbon.  She is sitting on one of those ever useful die cuts from Die Cut Dreams (link will be back as soon as the shop is re-open - watch this space!!)
I have chalked around the edge of the white die cut to soften it a bit.  The heart doiley is one of a selection that my Team Mate Corry sent me for my birthday (thanks Cor*).
The flowers, heart gems and pipe cleaner are from my stash and the corner and swirl are Marianne Dies.  All the papers I have used are from a Basic Grey pad called Wisteria.
The sentiment is one of Lynne's from Sentiments 4 You and I have coloured it to match my colour scheme.  I have used another of those prima flowers from Nikki at Bunny Zoe's Crafts and I have just added some glamour dust to give the image a bit of sparkle (although I'm not sure it shows up in the piccy!)

So, I hope this may have spurred you on to join in our Paper Piecing challenge at Totally Tilda this time.  Remember there is a £10 voucher for Sentiments 4 You as the prize this time.  Thanks for stopping by.

On top of all that the fabulous Lynne has decided to give a 10% discount on anything at her new online store this weekend.
All you have to do is add the phrase "MAYDAYMADNESS" at the checkout to receive your 10% discount.  This will last from Midnight Sunday 1st May until Midnight Monday 2nd May!!

Challenges:
Magnolia Stamp Lovers - Flowers
Moving Along with the Times - Anything Goes
By the Cute and Girly - Anything Goes
