Make a Scene!

Hello lovely people.
Hope you have had a fabulous week?
So time for a new challenge over at Through The Purple Haze challenges and our theme this time is:
MAKE A SCENE!
Now obviously I don't mean run out into the street with no clothes on! That would be dangerous now wouldn't it? Lol
Seriously, we just want to see a little scene on your project this time.
Our fabulous sponsor for this challenge is:
Make It Crafty

Price for winner: $10 Gift Certificate

I have to tell you that I really enjoyed making this card.
It was so much fun.
As soon as I saw the background I knew exactly what I wanted to do and what's more - it actually turned out the way I imagined it would!
So here is my project.
I have used three of the fabulous digital images from Make it Crafty in the making of this card.
The picture is coloured in both Spectrum Noir Pencils and Copics.
The background (i.e. the sea) is done using Pan Pastels and I love how it turned out.....
..... even down to the rays going through the water.
What do you think?
Hope it gives you a little inspiration to join in with our challenge this time.

Time once again for another challenge at Creatalicious.
This time our challenge is:
USE YOUR FAVOURITE COLOUR COMBINATION
Now for all of you who visit me often, you will know that I love Purple and Pink so obviously I have chosen green and blue!! Lol.
Only kidding. hehehehe
Of course I have gone with Purple primarily for my card.

So here is the card I made for our challenge:
I have used Vanity which you can find here:
The image is coloured with my Spectrum Noir Pencils and I have added some paper pieced shoes and handbags.  This card was for a work colleague which we all signed.  She wears short skirts like this and always has a scarf round her neck.  Mind you she wears dark thick tights rather than bare legs!! Lol
Here is a close up of the top of the card.....

and of the bottom too.
The papers I used are from a Lili of the Valley Pad called Promises.
The flowers are from my stash and the corner stamps are from Clarity.
So there you go. Can't wait to see what fantastic projects you submit.
Remember also that Kenny K are also running a little competition for all our followers over on the main blog.  So if you want a chance to win a Kenny K image pop over and have a read of the competition details and don't forget to add your entry whilst you are there to be in with a chance of winning a few more!!

Taking Flight

Hello all
Well, it is the 5th February and I have completed my Clarity Calendar Challenge for this month!!
Woohoo, get me eh??
I decided that because this one was more complex I would definitely have to start it earlier.
So here it is:

I decided my boy was flying past a waterfall - rather than the Sussex Downs like Barbara's.
I am not sure if I'm 100% happy with it but hey, you gotta practice haven't you?

Oh yes, remember last month's calendar challenge?
Well, I did a new version of it just to prove to myself that I could get better if I practiced.
Want to see it??
Ok then, here you go.

I also made a matching card!

Now I'm just showing off aren't I?
Lol.
Right, now I'm off to look at this month's main challenge project.
See you soon.

By the skin of my teeth!!

Do you know what?
I really must learn to manage my time better!!
Now if my Say it with Flowers entry was late then this one is only just going to make it.
Funny isn't it when you think you have plenty of time and all of a sudden it is the end of the month!
Hey ho. Time Management Dawn!!
So here is my entry for the Clarity Calendar Challenge.
Each month a new challenge is set to see if you can follow the fabulous instructions on the back of each month's image on the Clarity calendar.
There are some fabulous entries already so I don't think mine is going to cut the mustard somehow but as I said before, if you don't practice you don't get better.
So here you go then:
Please be kind!!
I just have to layer it up on some contrasting card and Bob's your Uncle as they say.
I know my trees aren't straight and they look like they are floating above the water but I haven't got time to redo it so unfortunately it will have to do.
Will be much more organised next month!!
See ya!

Better late than never!

Oh my good gosh.
Is that the time? Is it really the last day of January already?
Mind you looking at how many fabulous people have died this month I think I am glad it is February tomorrow - what about you?
Anyhoo, I digress.
I had this card made a while ago now.
It was for my Mum's birthday on 23rd but forgot to post it on the Clarity Challenge which is Flowers.
What a numpty!!
Anyway, here is my entry.
I used three plates on this one.
First off, I placed my flowers using the Blooming Peonies plate.
Next I added the Woven Background
and lastly for the plates I used one of the line sentiment border plates:
.... to add the sentiment.
Then I did all the whitework and coloured in the woven background with my Distress Ink Pens.
I added a bit of colour to the flowers, although looking at the photos it doesn't really show up very well but it is there, honest.
I promised myself I would try and enter as many challenges over at Clarity as I possibly could this year.  After all, the more you practice the better you get right??
Oh yes, and if you are interested in any or all of the items I have used you can find them all over on the Clarity Website by clicking on any of the links I have added.
Don't worry either if you want just one of the items that are advertised in say a pack of two - just give them a ring and they can sort you out - such a helpful bunch of staff they are, every single one of them.
So, off to do a bit more crafting now.

Things with wings - TTPH

Hello lovely peeps
Oooh me bad!! Forgot to post my DT card yesterday.
So without further ado, for this latest challenge over at TTPH we are sponsored by the fabulous;
The winner will receive two digis from the shop.
Here are some useful links:
So, the theme for this fortnight's challenge is:
THINGS WITH WINGS
We were given a couple of fabulous All Dressed Up images to work with and I used:
Flyaway Butterfly
Isn't she cute?
So here is what I did with her.

I am really pleased with how this turned out.  Not least the fact that it actually looks like the flowers in her headband are casting a shadow on her face!! Yay.
The image is coloured with a mix of Copics and Spectrum Noir Pencils.
The background is done using a Clarity Stencil and brushing through some TH distress Ink. I wasn't sure it would work but I think it looks ok! What do you think?
That lovely piece of lace you can just about see is from a huge pile of lace and bits and bobs I won on Brenda's Lace and Ribbon specials facebook page.  You really should ask to join - mind you - you might need a bank loan. lol
The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts
So there you have it.  I love how this turned out and I can't wait to see what you all come up with for this challenge.

Snowflakes at Creatalicious

Hello lovely blogging buddies.
If I haven't already then let me wish you a very
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
I hope 2016 is good to you all.
So it is time for our new challenge at Creatalicious.
You will notice that we have had a little change this year and our challenges are now every two weeks, one starting on the 15th of the month and one on the 31st (or 29th for February).
So more chances of winning some lovely prizes for you all.
So on to the first challenge of 2016 and Team A are hosting.
The challenge is:
SNOWFLAKES
Our wonderful sponsor is:
Prize  -  $15 gift cert.

Happy Little Stampers was created in 2015. Kylie wanted to bring out a line of stamps that were useful for every day crafters. From cute to whimsical images, from everyday to funky sentiments there is something for everyone!

So for this challenge I have used an image from one of my favourite artsists: Ching Chou Kuik
This image is called Snowflake - appropriately.
She is coloured with Copics and Spectrum Noir Pencils.
I am particularly happy with how the skin came out on this one.
I think I have actually learned something from Alyce Keegan's colouring classes at Kit and Clowder.
If you need help or just want to improve your colouring techniques then you really should pop over and have a look at Alyce's classes - they are amazing. Why not join the Kit and Clowder Facebook group too - you will pick up so many hints and tips.
I was so pleased with how this turned out I decided not to add too much in the way of embellishments and I think I made the right choice. What do you think?
The paper rose is from Samaflora on Facebook - Sam does make the most fabulous flowers. Why not pop over and have a look?
The other bits and bobs are from my stash.
The backing paper is from an LOTV pad called Frosty Christmas.
So, it is January and I have made my first Christmas Card for 2016! Yay!!
I really hope you like her as much as I do.
Can't wait to see all your beautiful creations.
