Love is in the air at TTPH

Hi all
Time once again for Team B to show you their offerings for our new challenge at Through The Purple Haze.
So this time the challenge is Love is in the Air
Our fabulous sponsor is the lovely

I have used this fabulous image called Lilies Commitment
Lilies Commitment - Digital Digi Stamp Instant Download / Mermaid Bride Fantasy Art by Ching-Chou Kuik
which you can find here.
So here is my offering for you this time.

I have coloured the image with my Copics on this occasion.
Think I am slowly getting more confident with them - it's taking time though!!
The background papers are from the Nitwits Collections at Lili of the Valley and these are from a pad called Butterfly Kisses.
Those gorgeous flowers are from I am Roses and were a present from my very good friend Susie Sugar - thank you darling.
So there you have it - my little bit of inspiration for you this week.
I do hope you will find the time to come and join us.

Something a bit different!!

Hi all,

Our challenge this time is:
JOY FOLD, STEPPER OR EASEL CARD
Don't forget you can use any stamped image now but it must be stamped and coloured we will not accept any digital images.
*******
And once again our fabulous sponsor is:
gif maker
And the prize that the lovely Nicky is offering is:
So without further ado here is my offering for this challenge:
I went off to You Tube and looked for a tutorial on Joy Fold cards because although I had heard of them I wasn't exactly sure whether my understanding was correct or not!
Anyway, having watched the Tut, here is my card:
Thought I would use one of my Sweet Pea Stamps which haven't seen the light of day for ages.
I have used one of Ching-Chou Kuik's Mermaid stamps but I can't find it in the store anymore so not sure what it is called.  See I told you they hadn't seen the light of day for a while!! Lol
Anyhoo, I coloured the image with my Spectrum Noir Pencils and added a bit of glitter here and there.

The papers I have used are from the Lili of the Valley/Raspberry Road pad called Timeless Victorian. I love these papers - they are such lovely quality.
I used one of my Cosmos Daisies from Wild Orchid Crafts and one of their twirly stamens too.
I added two different tones of pearls to each corner just to finish off.
Quite please with how this turned out.  Can't wait to see what you have to show us.

New to me!

Hi lovely peeps
Time once again for another challenge at Through the Purple Haze.
Our challenge this time is sponsored by:
and the theme this time is:
NEW TO YOU!
So, I have used one of the Genie images on my card, here it is:
The wording in the background is my "New to Me" bit.
It is a new stencil which I had from the lovely Lisa at That Craft Place on Facebook and you can find it here.
I used Distress ink pads, Spun sugar and Shaded Lilac and sponged from the top and bottom of the wording to get the two tone colours.
The clouds and hills are done with masks from Clarity Stamp
Here is a close up of the image, coloured with Polychromo pencils and Copics.
I am especially pleased with how her hair turned out. Getting the flicking knack slowly.
I know the two pictures look different colours, but the flash worked on the close up and not the other one. Hey ho, winter light - what can you do?
So I hope you like my little Wish Genie.
Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Wedding Commission!

Hi all,
Just popped in to show you what I was working on before Christmas.
I was asked to do all the stationery for a friend's wedding and of course I couldn't say no now could I??
Well, what started out as a reasonably easy job became quite involved.
So this post is a bit pic heavy so if you fancy grabbing a cuppa before we start, I will wait for you.
dum dum dum di dum dum.
Oh, right you're back!
Ok so here we go then.
Save the Date cards.
Invites, complete with RSVP cards and a little poem from the Bride and Groom.

Evening Invitations & RSVPs

Order of Service
Now at this point I have to say a very big thank you to one very special lady.
Ali at Crafty Ribbons - darling you saved my life!!
I desperately needed ribbon, narrow ribbon for the Order of Service.
I emailed Ali and told her what I wanted - then totally confused her by putting another order in so what did she do?? She only rang me to ask me directly what I actually needed.  The ribbon was here the next day - Ali you truly are something special sweetie, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Table Numbers
(& place cards but forgot to take a pic, DOH!)
Used my Silhouette for these - so much easier than cutting out by hand!
Post Box.

Table Plan
Now unfortunately I didn't take a picture of the finished item.
There was a black card backing, I rounded the edges and there were double little diamante hearts in each corner.  It looked lovely when it was all completed.  Again I used the Silhouette to cut out the wording - can you imagine cutting that out with scissors!! I don't think so! Lol
I also made a little box with one of everything in for the Bride to keep.
(Would definitely offer that as a little extra for any Bride I think)
So there you go, my latest Wedding Commission.
I am going to enter this commission into the following challenges:

A new Galaxy - no, not the Chocolate!! lol.

Hi all,
Firstly, let me wish you a very happy New Year.
May you all be happy and healthy.

So, I have decided to make a few resolutions.
Not New Year ones, just resolutions that I would like to stick to throughout the year.
1. Finish off each and every card I make so that it is ready to use. (I tend to make the card and then think "I'll do the inside later" - later never seems to arrive! Lol)
2.  When I leave a comment on a blog saying "I'm gonna give this a go" - I actually do!! Haha.
3.  Keep ahead on my DT work.  I have cut them down now to just two DT's, Totally Tilda and Friends and Through the Purple Haze.  So look out for the challenges popping up for those two.
4.  Try something new every month. (I was going to say every week but then I thought - get real Dawn, stick with something achievable!!)
5. I am gonna make this year the year I finally get to my goal weight!
So, this card I am about to show you comes under "Number 2" on my list.
I saw Barbara Gray do this on her blog and left her a comment saying I was going to give it a go - so - here it is!! (Don't laugh!!)
So I made the bubble background yesterday with the Distress Inks and Shaving Foam. If you have never tried it you really should, it is soooooo much fun.
*************
Then today I did all the other bits and pieces.
Embossed the bubbles, brushed over them, wiped them clean and buffed them up.
Trimmed the artwork (get me - artwork!! Lol) and then added the inks around the edge. Flicked my water at the bubbles and then dabbed them with paper towel.
Backed it onto Black Card, added the sentiment - love those word chains - and put it on a card.
Ta Dah!!!
So there you go Barbara - I said I would and I did!
