Me bad, I should have had this ready to post this morning but time just ran away from me over the weekend so here it is now - better late than never - I hope!!
My lovely friend
Clare asked me to take part in this Creative Blog Hop. It is a continuous blog hop showcasing some fabulous people and their blogs - I am sure you will enjoy the journey.
So first off I have to answer a few questions about me and my work.
1. What am I working on?
Actually, right at this moment I am not working on anything at all.
My DT work is up to date for now and I have nothing really desperate that needs doing right this minute.
I have been so busy recently that unfortunately my card making seems to have taken a bit of a back seat.
2. How does my work differ from others in my genre?
Well, how do I answer that one?
My work is just that - my work.
What I can say is that I have been quite heavily influenced by my good friend Mandy at
A Sprinkling of Glitter. Her cards are just adorable and she puts so much work into them - I would love to be as creative as she is. Then there is the Totally Tilda design team. A bunch of quite nutty but extremely talented card makers and I have picked up a lot of tips from those girlies. My love for Tilda has waned quite a lot over the last twelve months so I decided it was time to step down from the team and branch out a little bit. However, I just have to say that I learnt such a lot working with all those lovely ladies and would like to thank Susie for having me as part of her team - I loved every minute of it.
Right now I am rekindling my love of all things
Clarity. I go to a workshop once a month with the lovely
Maria Simms - what a teacher and we always have such a fantastic time and such a laugh.
3. Why do I create what I do?
Well, I love to see the look on peoples faces when they receive a hand made card or canvas or whatever it is I have made for them. It gives me a real buzz to see their reaction and that makes it all worthwhile. Ideally I would like to set up on my own doing wedding invites and party invites for kids but I don't think that will pay all my bills at the moment - so for now I just have to fit in what I can around my job.
The day I win the lottery though................. well a girl can dream eh??
4. How does your creative process work?
Well I start with the image - depending on what has been asked for. Then I try and find a sketch I like. I have kept dozens of sketches from different places and often refer back to them if I'm stuck.
Then I think of the person and try to match the colours I use on the image and with my papers etc and then put it all together. It usually turns out ok - but occasionally there are a few that end up in the bin!!
This is my workdesk. A bit messy right now but I haven't really been in here very much - not even to tidy up!!! It can be tidy at times - honest!!
So that's enough about me - time to meet my creative blogger friends. Now I am supposed to choose three but time ran out on me so I have two good friends to introduce you to.
If you click on their names it will take you to their blogs.
And don't forget to check back next Monday for their posts too.
My first Creative blogger is
Mel and here is a little bit about her
I live in a little village just outside Sleaford in Lincolnshire.
We moved here only last year and love our fabby little bungalow with it’s gorgeous views over the farmers crop fields.
I love to colour, Tilda’s are my weak spot and I spend many happy hours colouring these delightful images.
Please stop by Mel's blog and have a look at her gorgeous work - she is an inspiration.
My second creative blogger is
Stephanie and here is a little bit about her.
Been crafting for about 30 years. Started with sewing and then moved on to scrapbooking and cardmaking. Work full time so creating is done on my down time and is very therapeutic.
Now let me just say that Steph's colouring blows me away and if you stop by her blog you will see just what I mean - you won't be disappointed.
